Okay, wow. Can we talk for a sec about how freakin' gorgeous Dakota Fanning looks in the March issue of Glamour? Not that we're surprised—the girl has been in the public eye since forever, and we knew she'd shed the mantle of child stardom in favor of more adult projects—but her appearance in the magazine comes with a definitive declaration that Dakota is, officially, all grown up. And with her effortlessly glamorous spread and candid interview, we have to agree.
For her part, Dakota still hasn't let stardom go to her head; she shows the same poise and grounded attitude that's always set her apart from the highly visible, hard-partying Hollywood crowd, even as she's getting more attention for her red-carpet appearances. Asked whether she's enjoying her moment in the style spotlight, she replied, "It’s really fun when you’re getting dressed for something. It’s not when you’re in the rain with an umbrella and trying to carry a case of water"—a reference to a much-scrutinized photo of the actress running errands in New York, sans makeup and... well, some other stuff. Or in her words: "Yep, that’s me, alone, coming from Duane Reade. I’m not wearing a bra. Deal with it."
Still, despite having fun with fashion now, Dakota said she knows where her interests lie—and that we shouldn't expect her to follow in the footsteps of other celebs who design their own clothing lines.
"[When] you know designers and see the work that they put into making their collection, and how much passion they have for that—I think that’s so amazing," she explained. "And I don’t have the passion to design clothes. It’s nice to be able to grow up and know what you want to do... I’m reminded of that every time I make a film.”
