It'll be a while yet before we get the really sneak-peeky goods on the "Divergent" movie—with a theatrical release slated for nine months from now, we'll probably have to wait at least half that long to see a full-length trailer or a clip from the finished film. But in the meantime, you can whet your appetite for dystopian drama with this: new, never-before-seen stills from the movie! Several of which feature a very fine view of Four's delectably masculine jawline! Hooray!
Based on the novel by Veronica Roth, "Divergent" tells the story of a futuristic society divided into five distinct factions, with citizens required to choose their allegiance—and defining character trait—at the age of 16. But Tris, our heroine, discovers that she's set apart from her peers when a simulation reveals her to be Divergent, a.k.a. capable of identifying with multiple factions, a.k.a. a major threat to the status quo and those determined to maintain it.
The stills run the gamut from action shots to quiet moments, featuring stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James as well as supporting actors like Zoe Kravitz and Maggie Q. And there's plenty here for fans of the books to squee in recognition over, from Tris (Shailene)—still in Abnegation gray—being fitted for a simulation headset, to the looming, dilapidated Ferris wheel that's an important part of the book's Chicago setting.
"Divergent" hits theaters March 21, 2014.
