We can't say for certain whether Bonnie Bennett is in possession of a Facebook profile, but if she is, it's probably in need of a little updating. After all, "The Vampire Diaries" witchy woman isn't so much among the living after the season-four finale of her CW series—a fact we brought up to actress Kat Graham during the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
"Oh yeah, my status. I'm a ghost," Kat said with a grin.
"I love that that should be a Facebook status," chimed in co-star Candice Accola. "Like, 'Ghost. On the other side right now, BRB.'"
All joking aside, Candice was actually on to something, Kat revealed.
"You're definitely going to get to see the other side, which is something we've never explored on 'The Vampire Diaries' before. That's always been a mystery, so you'll get to see that," Kat said. "You know, Bonnie was someone who, when you saw the finale of season four, she didn't want to tell her friends that she was gone. She wanted them to enjoy college life, and I think she just had the idea that she was going to figure it out or everything was going to work itself out like it always did. So you'll get to see her try to find some truth and balance and find the answers to her questions of what's going to happen."
Despite Bonnie's somewhat dire circumstances, Candice insisted that this season—which finds Caroline and Elena trying out life as two bloodsucking college co-eds—will actually be a bit brighter in tone than previous ones.
"What's really fun, going into season five, there's a lot of tongue-in-cheek lightness to some of the dialogue that we haven't had in the past," she said.
