Lucy Hale might be trying to solve several soon-to-be-unraveled mysteries on "Pretty Little Liars," but she's also hoping to dominate the charts in the real world in the very near future. The actress is prepping the release of her long-simmering country album. That is once she wraps up filming the newest batch of episodes for her ABC Family series.
"It's done; it's been done for a while. I just have to wait until the show's done for me to promote it," she revealed to Hollywood Crush about the status of the release. "The show wraps November 1 and I leave November 2 for a radio tour to promote the single."
And, for those wondering just how country her album will sound, the Memphis native admits that her album is pretty twangy. "Yeah, it's pretty country! I mean if you guys [at MTV] want to play it, I'm not gonna be mad," she joked. "But, no, it's pretty straight country, which is where my heart is, my heart lies."
The 24-year-old "PLL" star previously opened up to us about the forthcoming release, sharing why she connects to country music so much, instead of opting to make a pop album like so many of her acting contemporaries have.
"It just really speaks to me. Country music has so much soul and is so heartfelt. I think it's a perfect fit for me. I think it will surprise people," she explained in June 2012, adding, "I love all [kinds of country artists], but comparing what my sound would be like? A Taylor Swift/ Carrie Underwood-ish hybrid? Obviously, I would kill to have their music careers. I'm not saying I will have that career, but sound-wise, I would say it's closest to that."
