Sophia BushWe hope Sophia Bush is able to take some time out from her busy do-gooder schedule to celebrate her 28th birthday today! The "One Tree Hill" star has recently been using her fame in the best way possible: advocating for the Gulf Coast as it is ravaged by the BP oil spill. But even environmental activists deserve some cake!

Sophia hasn't been spending all her free time championing good causes, just most of it — she and boyfriend Austin Nichols recently took a trip to Grand Isle, Louisiana to assess some of the oil spill damage. As for her day job, the actress spent some time recently filming the romantic comedy "Chalet Girl" (which co-stars Ed Westwick and involves skiing in the Alps — we're so there), and will begin shooting the eighth season of "One Tree Hill" on Wednesday.

Nikki ReedWe're sure that while traveling the world to promote "The Twilight Saga" films, Nikki Reed has encountered plenty of crazy situations. But punching a talk show host in the stomach, like Nikki did last night on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" while pimping out "Eclipse," is probably one of the weirdest. It seems those six weeks of fight training the cast went through weren't for nothing.

Clad in a short, asymmetrical black dress with a geometric cutout at the neck, Nikki looked gorgeous, though she seemed to be channeling Kristen Stewart and her love of LBDs.

Pretty Little Liars

Good news, “Pretty Little Liars” fans (a.k.a. all of you, if you know what’s good): ABC Family has ordered another 12 episodes of the new show, making the first season a full 22 episodes long. That means 12 more hours of mysterious text messages, steamy teacher/student makeout sessions, and what our hilarious recapper Emily Donahue has dubbed “sunglass porn.”

Shay Mitchell, who plays nice girl Emily, shared her excitement on Twitter last night, saying, “PRETTY LITTLE LIARS got picked up for 12 more eps!!! Who's excited!!! I am!” We are too, Shay.

HugeIt’s been hard to miss the advertisements for ABC Family’s new show, “Huge.” After all, the promo shots of a brave Nikki Blonsky baring it all in a swimsuit are definitely eye-catching. But were they attention-grabbing enough to get you to watch last night? I did, and there were plenty of things I liked about the show, which follows a group of teenagers at fat camp for the summer, with Nikki’s tomboy rebel Will at the center of the pack.

First, it was a relief to see such a diverse selection of body types being represented on a scripted TV show, and not a weight-loss reality show. Second, the casting of unknowns (minus Nikki “Hairspray” Blonsky) was a wise choice. Though, is the fact that they’re unknown simply because they’re all overweight? I suspect that has something to do with it, but it was refreshing nonetheless. Even the Hollywood nepotism of casting Hayley “My dad’s David” Hasselhoff didn’t distract.

Taylor LautnerIf you think Taylor Lautner's family might go a little easier on him when he comes home and does his chores after months of traveling to promote his latest film, well, you'd be wrong. The "Eclipse" star told Matt Lauer on the "Today" show this morning that his family treats him no differently than they did before "Twilight" mania started. In fact, "maybe even harsher. I've got extra mowing to do."

Some 18-year-old boys might dread housework; then again, not all 18-year-old boys are also super-famous megastars. Taylor told Matt, "When I'm home, I help out with the lawn, garbage, dishes, everything," and it's something he wants to keep doing "as long as possible. It's very important to me. I describe it as I live two lives. I do. I have this life where I do what I love to do, but I also have the same exact life as I did before, and literally nothing has changed."

Watching Riley and the army of newborn vampires ascend, unblinking, from the water as they prepare to battle the Cullens is one of the most chilling scenes from the "Eclipse" trailers. Actor Xavier Samuel, who plays Riley, said he took his inspiration for the now-iconic scene from an unlikely source.

"Well, I'm lucky it was kind of covered the first night at drama school," he joked to MTV News at the "Eclipse" black carpet premiere last night. "Let me say a large source of inspiration for that scene was Denise Richards in 'Wild Things.'"

Peter Facinelli's kids might get to enjoy some amazing perks — movie premieres, free stuff, sharing the prized genetic material of the Cullen patriarch and "90210" beauty Jennie Garth — but it's not all fun and games in the Facinelli-Garth household. Peter can also be strict. Like when he makes his three daughters wear T-shirts with his face emblazoned across the front at all times.

A sample exchange between father and child: "Put your Carlisle t-shirt on for school, kids! 'Again, dad? I wore it all week,''' joked Peter when chatting with MTV News about "Eclipse" last week.

Katie CassidyNow's the time of year when lucky graduates stuff their backpacks with necessities and catch the cheapest flight to Europe. But if you're extra lucky, sometimes you're a movie star who gets paid to embark on a grand tour of the continent with your new girlfriends and a Gleek.

Katie Cassidy, Leighton Meester, Selena Gomez, and Cory Monteith are currently gallivanting around Paris (and before that, Budapest), filming their new movie, "Monte Carlo," and judging from the photos they've been Tweeting from the set, it's pretty much the most fun summer job ever.

Prom castJust this weekend I was bemoaning the lack of quality high school comedies, and today, Disney's come to my rescue. Deadline Hollywood reported this morning that Disney has chosen the cast for its newest franchise venture (which will hopefully become another "High School Musical"-like success), "Prom," and it looks quite promising. (No pun intended. Really.)

Among a cast of mostly unknowns with just a handful of credits to their IMDb pages are Aimee Teegarden of "Friday Night Lights" and Nicholas Braun of the late (and great) "10 Things I Hate About You" TV show. You might recognize Danielle Campbell as the lead in the Disney Channel Original Movie "StarStruck" or Yin Chang as the overachieving Nelly Yuki in "Gossip Girl," but for the most part, the other actors haven't done anything too notable ... yet.
