While Selena Gomez is embracing her inner bad girl in "Spring Breakers," she’s also ready to play a Disney darling one last time. The "Wizards of Waverly Place" reunion special now has an airdate.
The special, titled "The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex," will air on Disney on March 15, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It will focus on Selena's character, Alex, and her family's trip to Italy to visit their relatives. However, things go all kinds of bad when Alex conjures up a Good Alex and an Evil Alex. So, as the story goes, the evil one gets tricked by another wizard into a plan of world domination. And boom! Good Alex must save the day. So, you know just a typical day that ends up as a battle between good and evil on the Tower of Pisa!
(Listen, we’re going to go ahead and assume good wins out in the end. I mean, this is Disney.)
Consider us very pleased there's so much Branson—we mean Tom—on this season of "Downton Abbey." It just means we get to check out more of the dreamboat that is Allen Leech. Adding to his hottie factor is the fact that he’s also kind of a dead ringer for One Direction babe Niall Horan. So, to honor his hotness (and his uncanny ability to pull off driving goggles), we’re naming him this week's Hump Day Hottie.
Check out this dreamy photo of Allen, and keep reading for more details about him!
Vital stats: This 31-year-old grew up in Ireland and knew early on that he wanted to pursue a career in the world of acting. So, he went out and got some degrees (a bachelor of arts and a master's degree in drama and theatre studies from Trinity College, to be exact), and then went off to pursue his dream.
Before there was Mr. Big there was Carrie Bradshaw's high-school crush, Sebastian Kydd. And we have to say, we understand why the teen version of "Sex and the City"'s leading lady has such a thing for good ol’ Sebastian. We've been crushing on Austin Butler for some time now. So, in honor of his role on "The Carrie Diaries," we’re naming him this week’s Hump Day Hottie.
Check out this dreamy photo of Austin, and keep reading for more details about him!
Vital stats: This 21-year-old hails from Anaheim, California, the home of some of our favorite things: No Doubt and Disneyland. Is it really any surprise that with his surfer charm and beach-blond locks he's a SoCal guy? By the way, Vanessa Hudgens has pretty great taste in the fellas. The actors happen to be dating.
Ever since Lena Dunham hyped up Donald Glover's appearance on "Girls," we’ve been dying to see what he could possibly be up to come season two. Well, we won't have to wait much longer. In honor of his January 13 appearance on the buzzy HBO series' season premiere, we decided to name this Childish Gambino this week’s Hump Day Hottie.
Check out this dreamy photo of Donald, and keep reading for more details about him!
Vital stats: This 29-year-old was born in California, but grew up in Georgia. Proving to be a smarty-pants at a young age, he headed off to New York University where he studied and Tisch School of the Arts and later nabbed up a degree in dramatic writing. While there, he was a member of the Derrick Comedy sketch comedy collective.
Reeve Carney is all about his isolation cabinet these days. But it’s not as weird as it sounds. You see, the actor/singer has found a practical use for it—he's recording his next album.
“Oh man, I’ve built a recording studio in my house, and it’s been great actually,” the "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" star told MTV News about working on new music. "I built a thing called an isolation cabinet, so I can actually record electric guitars in my New York apartment without disturbing my neighbors. It was really cool. So I’ve been in between shows and at night and in the morning, I record in my apartment."
The album also sees Reeve going it solo. He’s hustling to make the recording happen without any assistance. "I’d say the great thing about what I’m doing now I have a little more to do it,” he said. “So I have a chance to raise the level of quality and to be a part of every part of the process. I’m playing a lot of the instruments, if not all of them, on the tracks.”
Happy New Year! And what better way to kick off 2013 than with some eye candy? This week’s Hump Day Hottie isn’t just burning up the charts, but also the big screen: Feast your eyes on "Texas Chainsaw 3D" star Trey Songz.
Check out this dreamy photo of Trey, and keep reading for more details about him!
Vital stats: The 28-year-old Virginia native (real name Tremaine Aldon Neverson) grew up in a military family and as a teenager realized he had some golden pipes. So, shortly after high school (and one fateful talent show) he signed a record deal.
Have you been watching "Downton Abbey" on repeat (ahead of Sunday’s highly anticipated season three premiere) and thinking to yourself: "Why does Branson, the show’s dishy, bad-boy chauffeur, remind me of someone? There’s just something about him that is so familiar..."
Well, pop-culture fanatics, we have and we know who it is that we think—actually, know—he looks like.
That’s right, the easy-on-the-eyes actor who plays Branson (his real name is Allen Leech, FYI) looks uncannily like One Direction singer/heartthrob Niall Horan. Don’t believe us? We’ve even put photos of them side by side to prove just how right we are about this one.
As twilight falls on 2012 (you'll see where we're going with this in a sec), we can’t help but revisit the final "Twilight Saga" film, "Breaking Dawn – Part 2." After all, it was a pretty epic conclusion, and we'll admit the film wouldn't really be the same without its well-crafted soundtrack.
So, when Reeve Carney stopped by to chat about starring in Taylor Swift’s "I Knew You Were Trouble" music video, we also got the musician/actor to reflect on helping close out the saga with his soundtrack tune, "New For You."
"That was so great. It was amazing. I’m just honored. I’ve always been a fan of the films and the soundtracks, and so the chance to be a part of that grand heritage of ‘Twilight,’ or whatever you want to call it, it was an honor," he said. "And I actually—Bill Condon, the director, allowed me to preview a scene that I wrote the music [for]. So that was really great. That helped a lot cause it allowed me to try and get into the hearts of the characters. So I wrote the song specifically for the film. I saw the love scene. It was so nice they let me see it."
Sadly, 2012 is nearly over. And, if we survive the Mayan apocalypse (we probably will), it will be remembered as the year that many a hot dude graced our presence. Last week, we counted down the first half of our Top 10 Hump Day Hotties Of 2012, and now we finish the list. So, what guy is this year’s No. 1 Hump Day Hottie? Read on to find out!
5. Taylor Kitsch
Ever since “Friday Night Lights,” we’ve been crushing on this hunky leading man. And, as the star of a number of 2012 movies including “John Carter,” "Savages" and “Battleship,” Taylor proved he was born to have us gawk at him on the big screen. And he will prove it once again when he drops “Lone Survivor” and “The Grand Seduction” next year. He’s the perfect man to star in a movie called “The Grand Seduction”... Are we right people?
It was a great year for Hump Day Hotties—wasn't it?. As 2012 wraps up, we're taking the next two weeks to reflect on some of our favorite lookers of the past 365 days (give or take), as we prep for the inevitable inundation of 2013 babes. Today's reveal includes Nos. 10 through 6, but you'll have to come back next week to check out the final five, including our pick for No. 1!
10. James Wolk
We may have initially given Jimmy some shine thanks to his hysterical turn on "Happy Endings" playing Max’s beau, but we kept tuning in for everything he did this year, including his USA drama "Political Animals" (where he got sexy quite often) and his bad-boy turn in the big screen comedy,"For a Good Time, Call..." Oh, don’t worry, James, we will.
