After her big victory at the U.S. Open, it's not like Serena Williams needed to win anything else this week. But a true champion never rests on her laurels, especially when she's got a reputation as one of her sport's most fashion-forward athletes to defend—which must be why she looked so super-stylin' when she took her trophy out for a spin in Central Park.

As a woman who spends most of her public appearance in spandex, sneakers and sweatbands, Serena tends to go bold, glam and feminine when she's not on the tennis court—and this appearance was no exception. With a pair of peep-toe ankle boots to hide her tennis tan, a big gold belt to accent her waist, flowing locks and flawless makeup, the athlete roundly took Style Superstar honors to go with her U.S. Open win. (Sorry, we don't have a giant shiny trophy for our winners...yet.)

If you weren't already psyched to the gills about the start of football season—and considering that the next several months will involve multiple chances per week to watch beefy men in spandex pants rolling around on the grass in buttcheek-rippling slow-motion, we don't know why you wouldn't be!—then this EXCLUSIVE video intro for Simone Elkeles' new YA series, "Wild Cards," should definitely get you there. (Don't believe us? Just click, watch and hang in there for the one-minute mark where a young Ashton Kutcher look-alike strides out wearing nothing but an artfully-wrapped towel.)

This time around, the action takes place in small-town Illinois—where high school football is big, y'all. Liana LiberatoAfter all our dreams came true last week on the "If I Stay" casting front—in that the gentleman picked to play Adam, Mia's boyfriend, is every bit as delicious as we'd dared to hope for—it seemed too much to expect further awesomeness from the film so soon. And yet! There's more! Is it our birthday or something? Because this movie is the gift that keeps on giving: According to Deadline, the gifted Liana Liberato has snagged the role of Mia's best friend, Kim.

"If I Stay" is based on Gayle Forman's novel of the same name, the story of a girl (played by Chloe Moretz) who finds herself comatose and her soul in a state of voyeuristic limbo after the car accident that kills her whole family. And if you've read the book, then no doubt you remember the scene early on when Kim arrives at the comatose Mia's bedside and begs her not to die—not least because if she does, "there’s going to be one of those cheesy Princess Diana memorials at school, and I know you'd hate that kind of thing." So you know that this role needed an actress with some verve, and Liana—who we last saw holding her own against the charming Nat Wolff in "Stuck in Love"—is a perfect pick.

Chloe MoretzIf you weren't sure that sunny, sassy Chloe Moretz was the perfect pick to play Stephen King's brooding, tortured telekinetic teenager in the upcoming remake of "Carrie," then you'll definitely want to take a peek at her latest cover spot: W magazine has the actress front and center for its October issue, and girl looks downright haunted. And in her interview, Chloe makes it clear that she's no stranger to the horror-film scene. In fact, it's where she got her start.

"I booked 'The Amityville Horror' when I was 6," she recalled. "I did about four or five auditions and had to cry at every single one. When you’re that young, it’s a huge feat to be able to cry, so I did the same crying scene over and over to prove that I could and that I wasn’t making myself crazy doing it."

It was also on that film that she learned her first, vital lessons about maintaining a nice, fat boundary between the characters she plays and the person she is.

City of AshesUh-oh, you guys. We don't entirely like the noises that Hollywood is making right now—particularly when it comes to the status of the next film in "The Mortal Instruments" franchise, "City of Ashes." Constantin Film announced (via Deadline) that the next chapter in the Shadowhunters' saga has been pushed back until...until...until we don't even know. WHYYYYY?!

A sad-sounding statement from the studio asserts that this is the best thing for the franchise right now, even though the sequel film was previously going full steam ahead, making plans to begin principal photography and lining up new cast members. But having failed to make the big splash they were hoping for with the stateside premiere, the folks in charge are likely waiting to see if international audiences will be enthusiastic enough about the films to bring Clary Fray and company back for another round of big-screen action.

Chloe MoretzIf you like cute flannel fashion and quotable quotes, look no further than the October issue of Seventeen—where the lovely Chloe Moretz is sitting pretty as cover girl! The star of the soon-to-be-released "Carrie" remake (a Halloween-ready horror show in which there is very little cute flannel and very much blood-covered formal wear) is sharing insights and interests in the pages, alongside a photoshoot featuring some very covetable fall looks.

And if you've noticed that Chloe looks different these days, you, sir, are correct: The longtime blondie recently dyed her locks dark as part of her sweet 16 celebration.

She explained, "I've had blond hair for 15 years, so I decided on my 16th year, why not go brown?! I like being a brunette better. It’s more sophisticated."

Breaking DawnWe mostly associate the word "supercut" with a long-ago, deeply regretted bang trim from the hair salon at the mall, but this latest news from Collider might just be exciting enough to strip the word of all its bad juju: In an interview with the publication, director Bill Condon revealed that he's created his very own supercut of the last two films in "The Twilight Saga"! Bill has taken parts one and two of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" and edited them into a single movie, one that tells the final bits of Edward and Bella's story in one, seamless swoop. (He describes it as having rearranged certain bits and pieces to create a continuous narrative, "making it feel more like the original novel.")

The only bad news: This supercut is Mr. Condon's own personal plaything, which means none of us are going to get to see it until or unless he invites us over to his house for a slumber party and movie night. (OMG YOU GUYS. FINGERS CROSSED.) But now that we know it's out there...well, if the fanbase lobbies hard enough, maybe it'll see the light of day! So, tell us: Would you pay to watch it?

We've all known for years that Kate Winslet is not, like, a regular mom; she's a cool mom, okay? Hello, the woman has gotten to make out on-screen with Leonardo DiCaprio. TWICE. We're in awe! But Kate's own kids, apparently, had taken a little longer to get wise about the fact that they've got an awesome mother: According to the actress, it wasn't until she snagged the antagonist's role in next year's blockbuster adaptation of the "Divergent" trilogy that her daughter found her career even remotely impressive.

In an interview with MTV News' Josh Horowitz at the Toronto International Film Festival where she was promoting "Labor Day," Kate explained, "My daughter is going to be 13, and my son is almost 10, and they're getting to that age where this is the type of literature they're going to be reading very soon. In fact, my daughter, two days ago, came home from school and went, 'Mom! You're never going to believe it. Rufus came up to me at school and said, 'Is your mom really in 'Divergent'? Is there going to be a premiere? Can you get me a ticket?'"

Will there ever be an announcement related to "The Fault in Our Stars" movie that doesn't immediately precipitate a frantic bout of high-pitched nonstop excited squealing? ...Um, maybe? BUT NOT TODAY. Thus, we are typing the following news whilst also going "EEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeEEE!": Thanks to a tweet from John Green, we've caught a glimpse of the pretty lady who (unbeknownst to anyone 'til now) is playing the role of Monica.

The actress in question is Emily Peachey, and the most notable entry on her short resume is probably a nameless bit in the 2011 Taylor Lautner-as-action-star flick "Abduction." So, clearly she's moving up in the world with her role as the devoted girlfriend of Isaac (played by Nat Wolff)!

Vanessa HudgensOoooh, we just got a chill—and it's not because there's an autumnal frisson in the air, either. It's just that Vanessa Hudgens looks so flippin' fabulous on the cover of October's Marie Claire, where she took part in a smoking-hot photoshoot featuring cutout leotards, bondage booties and various other fashionable items that are decidedly un-Disney. But according to Vanessa, it's all part of her goal: to stay positive, focused, and fully herself as she navigates the transition from high school musicals and teenage growing pains to more grown-up, gritty fare.

"I am so comfortable with myself—honing in on what I love and what makes me powerful. Things I've been doing lately, I’m super-proud of," she declared. "So I don’t really care if someone doesn't like it, because I love it."
