Last night's episode of "The Secret Circle" featured a huge payoff front and center: the "Return" of John Blackwell!

After the steamy raciness of last week's "Valentine," the show returned to its slow-boil pace and gave us long moments to contemplate Blackwell's true intentions, to wonder even more about the fire and the other big events from 16 years ago, to consider for a moment why Cassie's father clearly favors Jake over Adam and other such plot threads. Of course, witch hunters just love to interrupt our pondering!

From the very beginning of the series, when the show's teen witch hero lost her mother and it was said that her father was also gone, we just knew that Cassie's dear old dad had to actually be out there somewhere—very much alive. You see, we met Cassie's mother (just before she was killed by Charles) but we never saw her dad. And when it was revealed Cassie has dark magic inherited from her father's evil side of the family, we just knew John Blackwell was too good of a character to keep in the shadows. And we were right!

Vampire Diariesby Cassie Title

By now, faithful readers, you’ve come to know me a little bit. And I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’ve been a little confused about what show it is that we’ve actually been watching. With references to "The Secret Circle" and "Gossip Girl," you can’t really blame me. But it all made sense tonight: the sappy music, the desperate longing on Elena and Stefan’s faces when the director switched frames during their missed phone connection, the pain in Damon’s eyes when he picked up Elena’s call, the fact that Rebekah was RIGHT THERE in his bed and left at exactly the same time Elena arrived, the bizarre reference to the actual title of this show (Stefan writing in a diary!) that producers forgot about—with good reason—two seasons ago, Klaus telling Caroline that he wants to know her hopes, her dreams, everything. We’ve been watching a soap opera, and it’s more than fitting that this episode’s name hearkened to the mother (get it?) of daytime TV. Plus, Esther wants to kill all her children. In short, it was a meandering, plot-heavy episode, so let's get down to it:

Kristin Kreukby Elizabeth Lancaster

The CW didn't have to look far to find its Beauty.

Deadline reports that former "Smallville" star Kristin Kreuk has been cast as the titular looker for the network's "Beauty and the Beast" pilot.

Though it may sound like Kristin is forming a tendency towards fantasy-based television, the show is actually an exciting revamp of a beloved '80s series that does not include any talking clocks or candlesticks. What it does include, is the exploration of a rousing relationship between two tantalizing characters, one of course being Kristin’s Catherine. Catherine is a homicide detective in New York City working to recover from her mother’s death and resolve her sentiments towards the murder. This leads her to discover Vincent Koslow, “the Beast," and for them to begin an unprecedented relationship. The Beast has secrets too, and Catherine will protect them. (Very enticing, we know!)

In case you forgot, it’s Valentine’s Day—that most romantic of days when loved ones should be spoiled with flowers, chocolate and loving gestures. Yet, if your boyfriend is someone who hasn’t been planning for this day for the past few weeks, we highly suggest showing him this valuable advice from Mr. Romance, otherwise known as Channing Tatum.

Channing knows a thing or two about melting girls' hearts—you’ll understand if you’ve seen him in “The Vow” or “Dear John”—so when we caught up with him recently before his hosting stint on "Saturday Night Live," we had to get his V-Day tips for all those guys out there that might need a helping hand.

“Do something that is shocking,” Channing said. “You can go to dinner, if that’s what you want to do or have a picnic or something, but do something you’re both going to remember.”

Smash Megan Hilty Jack Davenportby Erin Strecker

If last week’s "Smash" was the overture—all loud and emotional and intoxicating—then last night’s episode, “The Callback,” was the exposition. We met a lot of new characters, like Ivy’s scheming friend who gave his gal pal updates on Karen’s less-than-impressive dance auditions, and also had a lot of plot set-up with producer conflicts and family drama. And, of course, a whole lot of singing and dancing.

Much like viewers, the “judges” (the show’s producers and director) couldn't pick their favorite girl to be Marilyn based off their stellar “Let Me Be Your Star” renditions that closed last week’s episode. They decided to have another callback, where both Ivy and Karen sang an emotional, ballad version of “Let Me Be Your Star” that didn’t make the Marilyn casting decision any easier. Karen is too green; Ivy too polished.

Lynsey Jacob, 26, of New York City, won a behind-the-scenes set visit to the upcoming fairy tale thriller "Snow White and the Huntsman," starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth. These are her stories.

I want to begin this post by saying that I still can’t believe I won the "Snow White and the Huntsman" Facebook sweepstakes…and the trip is over! So many people have told me how lucky I am (which I won’t deny in this case), but the only other thing I’ve ever won by chance was a laundry basket at my high school’s after-prom. So in the words of Kristen Stewart, this was a BFD.

On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving I received an email telling me I was the grand-prize winner, and less than a week later, I was on a red-eye to Heathrow with my best friend who came as my guest. On the morning of November 30, a car picked us up from the hotel. I was on the verge of hyperventilating, and we were on our way to Pinewood Studios!

The "SWATH" unit publicist met us there and drove us around, giving a full tour of the studios before taking us through the different sets, mostly consisting of castle interiors. I saw costumes, the magic mirror and the milk bath the Queen uses (it felt like thin Elmer’s glue). I found out once I arrived on set that Kristen (Snow White), Sam Claflin (Prince William) and Chris (the Huntsman) were all there and I’d have a chance to meet each of them. Pfft, I wasn’t nervous at all.
