"Cinderella" is turning into one magical production. Oscar-nominated actress Helena Bonham Carter has joined the star-studded cast of the upcoming Disney live-action feature, according to the studio.
The actress snagged the role of the fairy godmother in the new edition of the classic tale. She will join a cast that already includes Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother, Lily James as the titular protagonist and Richard Madden as the prince. Kenneth Branagh, who is responsible for films like "Thor" and "Hamlet," will direct.
If you've been wondering what "Step Up Revolution" star Ryan Guzman has been up to, we've got your answer. The hunk is moving to Rosewood in tonight's episode of "Pretty Little Liars"!
According to Us Weekly, the actor will play Aria's hot new martial arts instructor. (Why does she need to learn self-defense, you may be asking? Tune in to find out!)
And it's tweets like this that are going a long way towards fanning fan suspicions that Ryan's character, Jake, may become more than just friends with Aria. Intrigue!
Despite more than a month of production deep inside the cinematic labyrinth of "The Maze Runner," another casting announcement for the dystopian drama has founds its way to the wire.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Patricia Clarkson has joined the cast of the film in a pivotal role. (One, it should be added, is a spoiler in and of itself if you haven't read the James Dashner novel upon which the film is based, so we'll let you decide whether to click to the full report or not. But suffice it to say, SHE'S IN THE MOVIE.)
"The Maze Runner" follows Thomas (played by "Teen Wolf" star Dylan O'Brien), who wakes up in an elevator with a gnarly case of amnesia. But that's just par for the course for the boys who arrive in the Glade, a large enclosure surrounded by a deadly maze. No one knows why they're there, or how to get out—only that they're being watched.
If Stone Cold Action Star is your favorite flavor of Taylor Lautner, you'll want to keep an eye out for the actor's upcoming thriller "Tracers," due for a 2014 release. The film stars Taylor as a bike messenger named Cam, who after crashing into a beautiful stranger is lured into the intriguing world of parkour.
But let's set aside visions of a rebounding Taylor Lautner for a moment to focus on what really matters: the romance. Specifically, which pretty young thing will play the hunk's lady love? That would be Marie Avgeropoulos.
FROM MTV NEWS: Where Emma Watson goes, magic seems to follow. The 23-year-old actress, who has been racking up a variety of roles since her graduation from Hogwarts, is once again eyeing a fantasy franchise.
Variety reports that Emma will re-team with her "Harry Potter" producer David Heyman for the big-screen adaptation of Erika Johansen's soon-to-be-published novel "Queen of the Tearling," the first of a proposed trilogy.

"Veronica Mars" fans have some casting news to celebrate. According to the show’s creator, Rob Thomas, a bunch of familiar faces have just signed on to the project, set to begin production next week.
Per an email (via E! News) sent out to the folks who donated to the Kickstarter campaign, Tina Majorino will be back to play Mac once again.
"I really wanted Tina in 'Veronica Mars.' To say I wrote Mac with Tina in mind would be an understatement. I wrote Mac for Tina, and Tina only,” Rob said in the email. "Veronica needed a female friend, and a Q to her Bond. Tina felt like just the sort of girl that Veronica would like and respect. I couldn't be more pleased that she'll be with us for the movie."
Disney's live-action spin on "Cinderella" is shaping up to be quite the "Downton Abbey" reunion. Sophie McShera, who plays oh-so-sweet kitchen maid Daisy on the soapy PBS drama, is in talks to join the movie as one of Cinderella’s stepsisters.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sophie could potentially join "Downton Abbey" co-star Lily James, who has been cast as the titular princess, in the Kenneth Branagh-directed movie.
"The Borgias" actress Holliday Grainger has been cast as Cinderella’s other wicked stepsister. And, considering how sweet Daisy is on “Downton Abbey,” seeing Sophie flex her bad-girl muscles in this latest spin on the classic fairy tale could prove quite exciting for fans of the period drama.

Think you've got everything that you need right in front of you? Well, then obviously you haven’t heard that Disney darling Debby Ryan will be making an appearance in the new Muppets movie!
That’s right! The "Jessie" star took to Twitter to announce that she will be filming a cameo for the semi-sequel, "The Muppets...Again!" In addition to Debby and our adorable fuzzy friends, the movie stars the hilarious talents of Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and Ty Burrell ("Modern Family").
Some ladies like to take a breather after winning the entertainment industry's most prestigious acting award, but not Jennifer Lawrence—nuh-uh, not a chance. Jennifer, the busiest bee in Hollywood, just can't-stop-won't-stop adding projects to her already-crammed plate; the latest one, as reported by Variety, is the drama "Rules of Inheritance," which she'll produce as well as star in.
So basically, over the next couple years, it'll be difficult to go into a movie theater without the possibility of encountering the actress in some form or another...which means that it's time we did a convenient round-up of all the many, many movies she's got in the works. Behold!
FROM MTV NEWS: Kristen Stewart's post-"Twilight" schedule has been a bit frenetic—we've seen a number of projects come and go (and in the case of "K-11," sort of come back again). And now we need to add two more projects to our radar.
The 23-year-old has signed onto "Camp X-Ray" and "Sils Maria," and if the names alone don't give it away, both are dramas that will likely keep Kristen's acting muscles in tip-top shape.
