We generally don't pay too much attention to superheroes around these parts (that's more the province of our brother blog Splash Page), but when they look like Chris Evans, well, they're hard to ignore. Chris, donning Captain America's red-white-and-blues, covers this week's Entertainment Weekly, and all we can say is, "Rescue me?"
With rippling muscles, fearless attitudes and fancy costumes, there's a lot to like (and swoon over) when it comes to caped crusaders. But is Chris' Captain America the hottest one yet (don't forget Ryan Reynolds will suit up as the Green Lantern very soon...)? Vote in our poll after the jump to decide once and for all who the sexiest superhero is! And as always, if we forgot your favorite, tell us in the comments section.
Thanks to sophomore English class, the phrase "the ides of March" always makes us think of poor Julius Caesar rolling around on the Senate floor in a blood-soaked (not to mention highly unflattering) toga. Yuck. But now, thanks to the movie biz, we'll be able to associate the ides of March with something much more appetizing—something like, say, George Clooney and Ryan Gosling! According to Variety, George has signed on to direct and star in "The Ides of March," a political thriller based on the play "Farragut North."
The film features George as a candidate for the Democratic presidential ticket, with Ryan starring as a press spokesman—a role played onstage by the equally delicious Chris Pine. (Rumor has it that Chris was in the running for this role as well, so there must be something about the script that attracts ridiculously good-looking dudes.) The cast also reunites Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood, who last worked together on "The Wrestler," playing (respectively) a reporter for the New York Times and a seductive campaign intern.
Rupert Grint, the ginger-haired star of the "Harry Potter" franchise, won our hearts as Ron Weasley, but really, he's so much more than just a teen witch. He's managed to sneak in all sorts of projects while still maintaining his blockbuster star status in the "Harry Potter" flicks. So before "Potter" madness really takes over the world, we're naming him this week's Hump Day Hottie.
Press play on the video below to see more of Rupert, and then keep reading for more details about him!
Vital stats: The 22-year-old Brit got his start on the stage and had never appeared on camera before "Harry Potter." He grew up in the magical-sounding land of Hertfordshire and comes from a rather large family: He's got one brother and three sisters. He's the oldest.
Being an immortal vampire, like brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore, certainly has its perks, including living through the entire contents of our 10th grade history book. Having been turned in 1864, the duo has witnessed prohibition, a few World Wars (sad), even the first lunar landing. But what were they doing while history was being made? Ian Somerhalder has a few ideas (and they're pretty swinging).
When we caught up with the "Vampire Diaries" at the 2010 Spike Scream Awards, we couldn't help but ask what his character Damon would have been up to in the 1950s. The ever-playful Ian speculated that Damon would have been rubbing elbows with some seriously famous friends.
"[He was] probably hanging out with Cary Grant, waiting for Mick Jagger to get old enough to hang out with in the '70s," Ian said with a mischievous grin. And, apparently, Damon has just as good of taste in ladies as he does in buds. "I have to think that Damon had to have slept with Marilyn Monroe and Kate Hepburn," he added. Eat your heart out, Katherine!
Move over Matthew Davis, there's a new "Vampire Diaries" stud we're paying homage to this week! With so many hot guys on the show sometimes it's hard to pin down which one to honor when Wednesday comes around again. So after some polls and scientific experiments (okay, that's a lie!), we decided to make Michael Trevino this week's Hump Day Hottie.
Press play on the video below to see more of Michael, and then keep reading for more details about him!
Vital Stats: The 25-year-old grew up in California. And in a world as obsessed with werewolves as they are with vampires, Michael stands out thanks to his broody, hunky good looks. Okay, all werewolves tend to be brooding and hunky, but we're kind of sweet on Michael's brand of it. Word is, he was once romantically linked to Aly Michalka.

You know that saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words"? Well, after taking a look at the November issue of Men's Health, I can’t think of any. That’s because "True Blood" star Ryan Kwanten is on the cover, and he is looking more amazing than ever. Kiss a momentary goodbye to your "True Blood" withdrawals, ladies. Inside, as you'd expect, Ryan talks about keeping his body in fine, fine physical form.
It's obvious just looking at the actor that being fit is one of his top priorities. "I'm not one of those actors who gets physically fit for a role and then loses it all again," he said. "I'm very rarely in the gym. My workouts are predominantly outside, in nature." However, Ryan doesn't ditch the gym entirely. He does take some classes—yoga classes, that is. "I used to laugh at anyone suggesting it," he told the mag. "Guys fear not being the best in these classes, but over time, you learn how to spend an hour not worrying about what anyone else is thinking. For guys especially, that’s a good thing."
Why yes, that is the delicious Chris Pine on the cover of this month's Details magazine. And yes, he is wearing a pair of buttery, buttock-hugging, Versace leather pants. (And no, we haven't the faintest idea why our copy of the mag is covered in ladydrool. Nope. Not a clue.)
Chris, who was one of last year's biggest breakout actors thanks to his energetic portrayal of Captain Kirk in "Star Trek," sat down with Details for an interview about what's next in his career. It's clear right away that he takes his work seriously; not content to just ride the action-hero wave, he kept busy this summer with a back-breaking stage role in the darkly funny play "The Lieutenant of Inishmore."
That's "back-breaking" in the literal sense, by the way. Pine has a litany of injuries suffered while playing the physically demanding role, telling the interviewer, "My body's all sorts of f--ked-up. I tore my groin, I pulled my neck and my glute, tweaked my rhomboid, sprained my f--king sacrum."
Birthday wishes are in order for "Charlie St. Cloud" star Zac Efron who turns 23 today. Happy birthday, Zac! The baby-faced actor has had a busy few years, romancing longtime girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, starring in hit films like "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" and "17 Again" and growing out his facial hair. (We're not super-stoked by the last development, and neither are you according to our recent poll). However, we think the best is yet to come for this developing talent as he progresses through his twenties. While we may not have a Hollywood-endorsed crystal ball at our fingertips, we've got a few guesses as to what his career and personal life will hold as he edges ever closer to 30. Keep reading past the jump for a timeline of the next seven years!
Another one bites the dust! Stephen Moyer made Anna Paquin an honest woman earlier this summer, and now Joe Manganiello plans on tying the knot too! So until Alexander Skarsgård puts a ring on Kate Bosworth's finger, he's our last hope!
People.com confirms that the sexy "True Blood" star has popped the question to his lady love, actress/model Audra Marie. And she said yes! Sigh. The pair met in 2009 at a Super Bowl party, and she didn't make it easy for one of TV's hottest werewolves!
"She wouldn't go out with me for six months. We started dating a few months before I got cast [on 'True Blood']," he recalled. So why is Audra the one? "[She's] a great dresser. She's gorgeous, and she's tall. And she's sweet...nice. And she makes crazy English breakfasts."
