Although Seth Rogen started his career with a few extra pounds, he's slimmed his cuddly frame down to something slightly more athletic as he's taken on physical roles in films like "The Green Hornet." But when pressed to pick a favorite among the nominees in the MTV Movie Awards' hotly contested Best Shirtless Performance category, Seth admitted he was out of his league when it came to "Magic Mike" star Channing Tatum.
"What is that muscle?" Seth asked when shown a picture of Channing in a bow tie and nothing else. “I’ve literally never seen that muscle.”
Last night marked the kick-off of our annual Sneak Peek Week, a summer movie preview leading into the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. And for our auspicious first film we started at the end: "This Is The End," starring James Franco, Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, Jay Baruchel, and Craig Robinson.
Seth, Danny and Jay were on hand to chat with our own Josh Horowitz about all things apocalyptic, but of course, the discussion eventually turned to their upcoming projects. And if you're a Zefron enthusiast, you're definitely going to want to perk up for this:
Hours before our cameras rolled, Seth and Zac appeared in front of a very different set of lenses, shooting scenes for their upcoming comedy "Townies." And just to paint the complete picture, the shots in question featured Seth and Zac, sans tops, standing in front of an Abercrombie & Fitch.
"He's hilarious, and he plays the head of a fraternity, and he's really funny in it," Seth explained.
And just because Seth is a married man (he tied the knot with actress Lauren Miller in 2011), that doesn't mean he's immune to the charms of a certain actor's chestal region.
Of all the fantabulous nominees at this year's MTV Movie Awards, there's one category of performers whom we're watching particularly closely. And by "closely," we mean "on a continuous loop, drooling, with a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door." Yes, we're talking about the Best Shirtless Performance oeuvre—a contingent of exquisite manly men who made a special impression in this year's films when they put their, um, acting skills on full, glorious, quivering display.
The 2013 nominees are a veritable buffet of sexy (or, in certain cases, fuzzy) pectorals: Channing Tatum ("Magic Mike"), Christian Bale ("The Dark Knight Rises"), Daniel Craig ("Skyfall"), Seth MacFarlane ("Ted") and Taylor Lautner ("The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2"). But before we get down to the rock hard business of awarding the Golden Popcorn for shirtless supremacy, we're doing a daily retrospective featuring each nominee's finest shirtless performances over the years. And today's hot-bodied beefcake? It's Craig. Daniel Craig.
Although British agent James Bond is perhaps best known for his ability to wear the hell out of a finely cut suit, Daniel Craig has additionally distinguished himself in the role by wearing the hell out of his finely cut abs. And with a torso like this, there's no question that he's a leading contender for the win. Just look at all the fine sights in our collection of his top topless moments.
With the 2013 MTV Movie Awards less than a week away, we need to have a serious discussion. Perhaps you know where we're going with this? Three words: Best Shirtless Performance. It's one of two brand-new categories debuting at this year's ceremony (thanks for finally addressing our letters, emails, tweets and Edible Arrangements, producers) and, well, it's a pretty big deal for us.
There are five men of (mostly) high caliber up for the Golden Popcorn: Channing Tatum ("Magic Mike"), Christian Bale ("The Dark Knight Rises"), Daniel Craig ("Skyfall"), Seth MacFarlane ("Ted") and Taylor Lautner ("The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2"). And while only the performances listed here should be considered while voting, we figured it couldn't hurt to take a trip down
mammary memory lane to revisit the many arresting shirtless performances proffered by each through the years.
So without further ado, let's begin with...
Winter is coming and so is Thomas Brodie-Sangster to the world of "Game of Thrones." And, let us be the first to say, boy were we surprised to see how grown up the adorable kid from "Love Actually" has become. In honor of that, we’re dubbing him this week’s Hump Day Hottie. "GoT" co-star Kit Harington can offer him some advice, should he need it.
Check out this dreamy photo of Thomas, and keep reading for more details about him!
Vital stats: Thomas grew up in London with his family. And, here’s an interesting factoid about the 22-year-old thespian: He’s also distantly related to the one and only (and one-time “Love Actually” co-star) Hugh Grant. They are second cousins once removed. Now, there’s a family reunion we’d love an invite to.
Max Irons is not only the star of this week’s highly anticipated sci-fi romance "The Host,” but he is also full of high-profile acting DNA and really easy on the eyes, to boot. Did we forget to mention he's English too? If those aren’t enough reasons to name him this week’s Hump Day Hottie then we don’t know what to tell you.
Check out this dreamy photo of Max, and keep reading for more details about him!
Vital stats: Max is a man of breeding. The 27-year-old Londoner grew up around some of the best in the biz, including his actress mom Sinead Cusack and his superstar actor dad Jeremy Irons. He attended the Dragon School in Oxford and later graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Rebel Wilson continues to be the envy of women worldwide as she occupies very tight quarters with Channing Tatum in a series of promos for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. And in addition to all that equal-opportunity groping, the Aussie actress shared plenty of laughs with the "Magic Mike" star, which is almost as awesome as Channing blindly rooting around in your bra. (Yeah, riiiiiiight.)
Anyhow! The dynamic duo can't seem to keep their faces straight in this latest behind-the-scenes look, and we just can't seem to get enough. (That steering wheel is not hiding your shame, Channing!)
When last we checked in with MTV Movie Awards star Rebel Wilson and the always-dreamy Channing Tatum, they were belted into a getaway car, fleeing an unknown foe. And when the Aussie actress just couldn't get her shot, the "Magic Mike" star gamely let her straddle him (and without leaving a tip!).
Well, if the latest promo has taught us anything, it's that this year's ceremony is all about equal-opportunity groping.
Now it's Rebel in the driver's seat, as Channing takes charge of the weaponry...supposedly nestled in the actress' bra. And if the idea of an over-the-shoulder-hand-gun-holder leaves you blushing, you won't want to know where she's hidden the grenades...
Are you sitting down, Crushers? Okay, good. Because we have some news. Some bad news. We'll just spit it out: Ryan Gosling is taking a break from acting. We know. We know. It wasn't over for us, either. It sill isn't over.
...But apparently it is. For now, at least. Baby Goose, himself, had this to say to the Associated Press: "I've been doing it too much. I've lost perspective on what I'm doing. I think it's good for me to take a break and reassess why I'm doing it and how I'm doing it. And I think this is probably a good way to learn about that. I need a break from myself as much as I imagine the audience does."
Apparently our fanfic has been falling on deaf ears.
Anyway! Luck for us, Ryan has several starring roles in the can already, including "The Place Beyond the Pines" and "Only God Forgives," and he'll be working on his directorial debut "How to Catch a Monster," so he won't be out of the spotlight completely.
Ryan's been vocal in the past about the benefits of a "real job" (having worked briefly at a deli following "The Notebook"), and if he's looking to get his hands dirty once again, we'd like to offer a little career counseling. Because there are lots of things he'd be good at besides acting. How about Lumberjack Ryan Gosling? (I mean, he owns all of that flannel already...)

Saoirse Ronan is one hot extraterrestrial. The star of the upcoming supernatural romance "The Host," walked the carpet at Hollywood's ArcLight Cinemas Cinerama Dome last night to premiere her latest project alongside cast mates Max Irons, Jake Abel and Diane Kruger, plus author/producer Stephenie Meyer.
The willowy actress looked more mature than her 18 years in a maroon-hued Lanvin shift dress, strappy black heels and pin-straight locks. Her male co-stars also cut fine forms in their respective suits and ties. (Did we mention how jealous we are that Saoirse gets to make out with both guys in the film?!)
