Photo research generally isn't the most glamorous or exciting part of our jobs as your dutiful Hollywood Crush writers, but today is an exception. Because December 8 just so happens to be "Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder's birthday, and we'd definitely be remiss in commemorating his auspicious 33rd without a Willy Wonka-sized serving of eye candy for you. So happy birthday, Ian (and mazel tov to you Crushers as you enjoy the below flipbook!).

Ian took to Twitter yesterday to thank fans for their prolific (not to mention early!) well wishes, writing, "Thank you for all the birthday wishes- I feel the love. Really. Truly. Good night you amazing world." Zac Efron Celebrates 'New Year's Eve' As This Week's Hump Day Hottie

We know it’s hard to believe that Zac Efron has never been one of our Hump Day Hotties. But, we’re making amends before 2011 wraps up and showing the "New Year’s Eve" actor some major love. So, Zac, in order to ring in the New Year right, we resolve to finally name you our Hump Day Hottie. Vital stats: Zachary David Alexander Efron (yes, that’s his real full name and, yes, it’s quite the mouth full) was born 24 years ago on October 18 in California. When he wasn’t in school, Zac was bulking up his resume in local theater before eventually getting scoring an agent at the suggestion of his drama teacher. Since breaking up with Vanessa Hudgens last year, Zac’s been flying solo.

Emma Roberts Stars As 'The Girl With The Tramp Stamp Tattoo'

If you've been salivating over the moody, mysterious, rapid-cut preview for "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"...well, maybe you shouldn't watch this! Because the folks at Funny or Die have made their own version of this fascinating video—and made sure that we'll never again enjoy the trailer for the first Hollywood installment of Lisbeth Salander's story without also, involuntarily thinking of the words "Jager s---s". THANKS A LOT, GUYS.

(This probably goes without saying, but the clip has some salty language...)

"The Girl With the Tramp Stamp Tattoo" is like a nightmare version of the much-anticipated feature film, complete with a pink scooter, projectile vomit and—yes—a giant butterfly tattoo in That Particular Spot on the back of Emma Roberts. Who seriously sells it, by the way; her performance as "Lisbeth" is so brilliantly trashy that it'll pretty much ruin any goose-pimply anticipation you might've had for the real-deal thriller. But hey, it's funny! Sort of! And we're seriously digging the bespectacled look on Joe Manganiello.

Even Bradley Cooper Agrees: Ryan Gosling Is One Sexy Man

Vindication is ours! Sorta.

We had a few choice words for People magazine last month when they named 36-year-old Bradley Cooper Sexiest Man Alive, rather than our very deserving boyfriend Ryan Gosling. And as it turns out, the "Hangover" star himself kinda sees our point.

Appearing on "The Graham Norton Show," Bradley good-naturedly addressed his recently bestowed title and the ensuing pro-Gosling fervor. "It's so awful I'm admitting this, but the hell with it because there was such a backlash when they announced it. And Ryan Gosling, who I love, and I just did a movie with him, and he's the greatest," he enthused.

Bradley went on to recall a "friend" sending him a link to a site comparing the two hunks. "And when I say 'friend,' I mean me alone, looking at the computer," he joked. "It's [Ryan] walking around, and he literally looks like he's in a photo shoot, like he just came off the runway. The pea coat is like this [miming an upturned collar], with the scarf! And then there's ones of me, and I literally look like the neighbor who never really comes out of his house. So it's been interesting."

Wax On! Taylor Lautner Joins The Ranks At Madame Tussaud's

If you've been yearning for a life-sized replica of Taylor Lautner that you can keep in your house, snuggle up to when it's cold and take into your room at night for secret whisper parties...well, that's really weird, we're not gonna lie. But guess what: You're about to get half your wish! Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in London has announced its figures-to-be for 2012, and Taylor is top of the list after becoming one of this year's most requested personalities ever to be rendered in wax. (So, to be clear: lifesize replica, yes. Latenight cuddling with a fake Tay-Tay, no. But hey, you can stand next to him and get your picture taken!)

Taylor will be joining the museum's "A-List Party" attraction—arriving fashionably late to a tableau that already includes the notorious Robert Pattinson. The good news: Now both of "Twilight" leading men will be in the same room at the creepy-cool institution of waxwork sculptures. The bad news: Given the setting, the wax version of Taylor will probably not be showing off its abs. BOOOOOOO.

'Friday Night Lights' Star Zach Gilford Gets Engaged, But His Teammates Are Still Up For Grabs

It's December 1, and 'tis the season for warm, fuzzy feelings and sparkly things—which makes it oh-so-appropriate that "Friday Night Lights" actor Zach Gilford has just gotten engaged to girlfriend Kiele Sanchez. Us Weekly reports that the pair are set to be wed...well, there's no official date yet, but give the kids a break. They've been engaged for, like, five minutes.

Zach (best known for his role as Matt Saracen on "Friday Night Lights") met Nikki (best known for playing one of the most annoying characters ever to grace the set of "Lost") in Chicago while filming "The Matadors"; the pair have been dating since spring of last year. And while we wish them the heartiest congratulations, we can't help pouting at the removal of one of "FNL"'s most eligible bachelors from the market. Walter Makes His 'Muppets' Debut As This Week’s Hump Day Hottie

Nick Zano Hangs With '2 Broke Girls' As This Week's Hump Day Hottie
