DivergentThe Dauntless train is slowly (but surely) pulling away from the station.

To be sure, progress on the big-screen adaptation of Veronica Roth's dazzling dystopian tome "Divergent" has been anything but speeding-locomotive fast. Since the film rights were purchased by Summit Entertainment in March 2011, the only concrete news has been the appointment of screenwriter Evan Daugherty (though rumor has it that "Limitless" helmer Neil Burger is in talks to direct). Well, that all changed yesterday when Summit announced (via The Hollywood Reporter) that a release date has been set for the film. Mark your calendars for March 21, 2014!

For the uninitiated, "Divergent" is set in a near-future Chicago, where society has been split into five different factions dedicated to the cultivation of a specific virtue. All 16-year-olds must pledge allegiance to a faction. Readers meet Beatrice "Tris" Prior during the lead up to her big decision—one which will change the course of her life and many others.

With a release date set, we couldn't help but wonder which pretty young thing in Hollywood will be pegged to play our heroine Tris and become the next big thing in YA adaptations (a la Jennifer Lawrence). As such, I assembled my fellow MTV YA Book Club members (yes, this exists) to gather their picks, which include a vampire, a fashionista, a dutiful daughter and a ghost. Check 'em out after the jump!

Kristen Stewart may have been in Toronto to support her latest film, the big-screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac's iconic "On the Road," but as we're wont to do here at MTV News, we couldn't help but pepper our Beat-friendly inquiries with a question or two about her other impending film, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2." Always a good sport, Kristen was happy to oblige, sharing her completely non-biased (obviously) review of the series' conclusion.

"It's so good. It's good," she said. "It's really weird. I think everyone probably knows that and expects that. I'm so very proud. I'm very happy with how it closes. It was a lot to take in, and it was rough."

When Josh Horowitz inquired as to which part was the roughest for her to watch, KStew had to clarify:

"No, it's a rough cut."

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

Demi Lovato didn't mind getting her hands dirty at last night's "X-Factor" season two premiere party! The singer and soon-to-be judge on the reality talent show plunged her hands into freshly poured concrete at Grauman's Chinese Theatre, alongside fellow stars Britney Spears, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.

Demi sported a big smile and some very old-Hollywood-appropriate sparkle for the occasion, a good choice for the handprint ceremony that's served as a performer's rite of passage for everyone from silent film stars to contemporary action heroes. Even the star herself couldn't quite believe she'd made it; her tweet from behind the velvet rope as she waited to make her mark said, simply, "Surreal."

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

What's the best way to reemerge from low-profile seclusion after a shocking, highly-publicized, much-debated breakup? ...We don't know! (Which is why we're not celebrities and/or dating one, thankyouverymuch.) But it's safe to say that Kristen Stewart nailed it when she made her first public appearance in a month at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of "On the Road," where she showed up looking perfectly put-together and spent lots of time happily posing for photos with her co-stars.

Kristen looked seductive and sophisticated with a sleek ponytail, black pumps and an autumnal-feeling floral dress from the Zuhair Murad fall collection—and despite her notorious dislike of the spotlight, she spent more than 40 minutes working the red carpet, schmoozing with fans and photographers like a champ.

Stars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser and Peter Facinelli may have done the honors at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, presenting the final trailer for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," but Kristen Stewart's Bella Swan-Cullen is arguably the biggest butt-kicker in this clip.

The 90-second teaser opens much like the one that preceded it, with a newly turned Bella sprinting through the forests of Forks. But what we didn't see before was the bloodsucker bagging herself a big cat, in grand fashion. Later on, Bella's new-found strength is utilized in a WWE-worthy maneuver in which Edward lifts and swings her into a bunch of waiting baddies.

Emma Watson has gone from Hogwarts student to all-out style icon since we all said avada kedavra to the "Harry Potter" franchise last summer—and though it seemed up in the air at first whether the artist formerly known as Hermione would keep up her acting career, it looks like she's officially committed to keeping herself on the Hollywood radar... starting with next month's cover of Glamour! Emma is sporting a sleek bob and a Mona Lisa smile on the front of the magazine, where she's appearing to promote her upcoming role in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." And inside, she's opening up about her future plans, her current haircut and her prickly past issues with keeping things private.

But first, about that hair: We loved Emma's daring pixie cut, and it's nice to hear that we're not the only ones! Turns out, the actress is also sad not to have her short hair anymore, and not just 'cause of the awkwardness of growing it out.

If you're wondering where to next catch a glimpse of Kristen Stewart in print, try checking out one of your higher-end newsstands next month: The actress has snagged the coveted role of cover girl for British Vogue, where she's getting the full glamour treatment (those lips! that dress!) and offering up some timely insights on how much she doesn't have it together for a life in the public eye. (Among the statements that ring especially true in light of the field day the media had with her breakup last month: "I'm not that smooth.")

But while we're psyched to see Kristen in the spotlight across the pond—and her sultry cover look is definitely a new favorite—we can't help waxing a little nostalgic for some of her previous stints as a cover girl. Our favorites?

And now, for something completely different! ...Okay, so the bored teen angst on display in this teensy first clip from "Spring Breakers" isn't exactly new territory, per se, but getting a glimpse of Selena Gomez behind bars (and monologuing about the terrible banality of life in a dull monotone that's anything but Disney-issue perky) is definitely one for the record books.

The first peek at the movie, which Selena has warned might be somewhat shocking to fans who've watched her grow up doing more family-friendly fare, is quick, quiet and seriously blue—figuratively and literally.

After Emmy Rossum and the "Beautiful Creatures" buzz machine dished up a couple sneak peeks at her distinctive looks from the set, there's no question that the character of Ridley makes for a stunning style chameleon—but just 'cause the witch looks good, that doesn't mean she can't be seriously bad, as Emmy was quick to explain when we chatted with her on set.

"Ridley is a bad girl with a really small, tiny heart of gold underneath," said the actress, who makes no bones about the delights of playing the seductive caster who tries to corrupt the film's impressionable young hero: "She is deliciously evil."

Show of hands: Who here appreciates a fine-looking man in a finely woven, snuggly sweater? Everyone? OK! Do we have something for you then! For today's Fall Movie Preview Week feature, we've nabbed not one but two EXCLUSIVE images from "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," both featuring the always alluring Robert Pattinson.

We must, however, give the advantage to this first photo in which the 26-year-old actor is handsomely clad in chunky knitwear, on his way to ask the Denali coven to aid his cause against the Volturi. I mean, yummmmmy, right?
