If you can pull yourself away from ogling the beautiful bare chests featured in the new "Magic Mike" poster for a moment you might notice and/or appreciate the actors' smooth and hairless chests.
In a nutshell, the male actors took their roles seriously and subjected themselves to some hard core body waxing. We'll allow Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey to explain the sordid-yet-hilarious tale, as told during MTV News' Sneak Peek Week Q&A, leading up to this weekend's MTV Movie Awards.
"Did you get waxed?" Channing asked Matthew when they were posed a question about their body hair removal routine via Twitter.
"Yeah. The Russian got me," Matthew said with a smile. "She said 'sorry' after every time. She said 'sorry' 142 times."
Dear friend, we have a gift for your "Perks of Being a Wallflower"-loving heart: a 10-second sneak peek of the film's trailer, which will debut during the MTV Movie Awards pre-show on Sunday, June 3. And though the clip is brief, it's a satisfying peek at the "Perks" to come.
Here we see titular wallflower Charlie (played by Logan Lerman) and crush Sam (played by Emma Watson) engage in a heart-felt conversation about love, while scenes of their high-school year flash by. "Why do I and everyone I love pick people who treat us like we're nothing?" Sam asks Charlie. "We accept the love we think we deserve," he so wisely replies.
Charlie learns a lot about life from new-found friends Sam and Patrick (played by Ezra Miller), and it looks like he's returning the favor. Thanks, a lot, Logan. Now we're dying to see "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" even more.
The film, which also stars Paul Rudd and "Vampire Diaries" actress Nina Dobrev, hits theaters September 14. In the meantime, make sure to check out the full trailer, which debuts during the MTV Movie Awards pre-show airing at 8 p.m. E.T./P.T.
We're psyched about all the stars who will be in attendance at the MTV Movie Awards this Sunday, but all that mega-wattage means producers had the tricky task of seating everyone in the audience of the Gibson Amphitheater. It's a job that many would consider quite daunting, but those in charge were up to the challenge.
Needless to say, "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart is going to be sitting front and center during the ceremony. Nearby will be the "Magic Mike" crew, who we assume will spend the show spontaneously grinding against every woman who walks by. (Let us dream, people!) And keep an eye out for Michael Fassbender and his two seats. MTV News' Jim Cantiello, who shows off the celebrity seating arrangements, has quite the theory as to who (or what) will be the "Shame" star's plus one.
It's the last night of MTV's glorious Sneak Peek Week, in which we celebrate the impending arrival of the 2012 MTV Movie Awards by blowing your movie-lovin' minds with a new, exclusive clip from one of Hollywood's most hotly anticipated flicks! And now that you've been properly prepped with a goth fairytale fix from "Snow White and the Hunstman," an amusing peek at "That's My Boy" and a jaw (and pants!) dropping buffet of manmeat from "Magic Mike," it's time to face the music— with tonight's debut of a never-before-seen clip from the hair-metal megafilm "Rock of Ages."
MTV Movie Awards host and "Rock of Ages" actor Russell Brand will be on the air at 11 p.m. ET to introduce the exclusive clip from the film, and give us a taste of the fun to come when he takes the stage as our official emcee for Sunday evening's festivities. And after the music stops, the fun keeps going: Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta will be live with MTV News' Josh Horowitz for a Q&A on MTV.com, featuring questions about everything from behind-the-scenes shenanigans to proper headbanging technique. Want to sing along with the "Rock of Ages" action? You can submit a question for the cast on Twitter using the hashtag #MTVSneak!
If you missed last night's MTV Movie Awards EXCLUSIVE Sneak Peek Week preview of "Magic Mike," you're probably kicking yourself pretty hard right now—and with good reason! Because it was awesome! And how could you not have watched it?! Honestly, y'all, sometimes we doubt your commitment to the Hollywood Crush Hot Naked Men Appreciation Society. But if you did somehow fail to tune in for the never-before-seen clip debuted by Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey, you can quit with the self-flagellation: We've got it right here.
And ladies, you will never look at an umbrella the same way again.
You'll probably want to withdraw a fistful of dollars from the ATM before tonight's Sneak Peek Week festivities begin, because you're gonna need 'em. We're welcoming to the stage Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey and screenwriter Reid Carolin to unveil a brand new clip from their upcoming stripper story "Magic Mike," which hits theaters June 29. In addition to showing us their goods (*wink wink*), the trio will sit down with MTV News' Josh Horowitz to discuss banana hammocks…or, you know, filmmaking. WHATEVER.
If you're a frequent Hollywood Crush reader, "Magic Mike" probably needs no further introduction, but just in case: The flick follows newbie exotic dancer The Kid (Alex Pettyfer) as he learns the ropes from old pro Mike (Channing). Of course, there's plenty more eye candy where that came from, including "White Collar" star Matt Bomer and "True Blood" hunk Joe Manganiello. Is it getting hot in here?
Anyway, gather those Benjamins (or maybe just Washingtons) and park those buns in your seat as we lay "Magic Mike" bare at 11 p.m. ET.!
The competition is stiff this year in the MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss category, but there's no performance anxiety for "Twilight" producer Wyck Godfrey! When we caught up with the man who's been responsible for heading things up behind the scenes on all four films in "The Twilight Saga"—including the most recent "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1"—he confessed to being all kinds of confident that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will be taking home the Golden Popcorn for the fourth consecutive year in a row. Why? Er, let's just say that the shattered furniture and shredded pillows that come later in the film might have something to do with it.
"The Best Kiss is when it's really about a prelude to sex," Wyck grinned. "Sometimes that takes it up a notch, and that could be what might get us over the hump."
...We see what you did there, sir. Over the hump, indeed! But really, the producer may be onto something when he says that the promise of post-kiss, bedroom-destroying, human-on-vampire nookie is what makes the "Breaking Dawn" wedding liplock extra-special—and exciting enough to come out ahead of even the steamy smooch in "The Vow."
We don't know about you, Crushers, but we've already set our DVRs to record the 2012 MTV Movie Awards pre-show so we can watch "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" trailer over and over and over and over again. Logan Lerman and co-stars Emma Watson and Ezra Miller will be on hand to present the clip. We're so excited and we just can't hide it! (No seriously, we're bouncing in our office chairs.)
The film is an adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's coming-of-age novel (published by our buds at MTV Books!), which follows Charlie (Logan) as he navigates high school with the help of Sam (Emma) and Patrick (Ezra). Simply wanting to fit in, Charlie instantly warms to the outgoing duo's friendly advances—maybe a little more than he should. As we (attempt to) wait patiently until this Sunday rolls around, we've created a wish list of what we hope is in store for the trailer's debut!
What's so exciting about tonight's MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week feature? Well, we're not going to say that the next brand-new EXCLUSIVE clip in our lineup will show you parts of your favorite Hollywood hotbodies that you could only previously see in your dirtiest secret dreams...but we're not not going to say it, either. Because you guys, it's male stripper-movie time and IT COULD TOTALLY HAPPEN.
Tonight at 11 p.m. ET on MTV, Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey and screenwriter Reid Carolin will be on hand for the third exciting debut in our amazing lineup of never-before-seen clips from this year's hottest upcoming films, with a special sneak peek at a new scene from "Magic Mike"—and, if we're really lucky, a glimpse or two of some well-muscled man-meat in the bargain.
Welcome to the second night of MTV's Sneak Peek Week—our celebration of summer cinema leading up to the 2012 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, June 3. Yesterday, we were enchanted by Kristen Stewart and Sam Claflin as they talked all things "Snow White and the Huntsman," and tonight, Andy Samberg, Vanilla Ice, Will Forte, Ciara and Eva Amurri are in the house to debut an EXCLUSIVE clip from their flick "That's My Boy," plus answer questions during a 30-minute chat.
In the film, out June 15, Andy plays Todd, the son of accidental (and incredibly hapless) teen parent Donny, played by Adam Sandler. After years of estrangement, Donny reappears in seemingly well-adjusted Todd's life on the eve of his wedding. And let's just say, Donny still isn't earning any Father of the Year coffee mugs.
All the fun starts at 11 p.m. ET, so be sure to click play on the video above to witness the hijinks and follow along on Twitter with the hashtag #MTVSneak.
