Chord OverstreetMaybe he was just on vacation out of state.

TVLine is reporting that former "Glee" star Chord Overstreet is in talks to return to McKinley High before the end of the year and will stick around as a recurring cast member if all goes as planned.

Does this mean we're finally going to see the Sam-Mercedes hook-up that the end of season two promised? We'll have to wait and see until the eighth episode, according to TVLine.

All week long, we've been highlighting Hollywood's hottest up-and-comers, inducting 10 special stars-in-the-making into our New Class. Today we draw our feature to a close, but not before honoring two lovely ladies who've got big things on the horizon. Please welcome Sarah Gadon and Shailene Woodley to The New Class!

Sarah may not be a household name just yet, but after her starring turn alongside Robert Pattinson in the 2012 David Cronenberg flick, "Cosmopolis," we're pretty sure guys and (potentially jealous) girls alike will have her name on the tip of their tongues for years to come.

The odds are clearly in Josh Hutcherson's favor. The 18-year-old has been a working actor half of his life, but he'll finally claim star status when the hotly anticipated "Hunger Games" adaptation (in which he plays dreamy baker's son Peeta Mellark) charges into theaters in 2012. So it should come as no surprise that we've named the actor to our New Class as Most Likely To Play A Superhero.

"It's very nice, especially to be considered with the group I'm in here with, all peers of mine I admire very much," Josh said of the honor. "I've been an actor for a long time, so to finally get some recognition from some people that I think are really cool is pretty nice."

Watch out for flying loafers come October 14, because audiences around the nation will be kicking off their Sunday shoes for the highly anticipated remake of "Footloose," starring Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough. As we ponder the former "Dancing With the Stars" pro's future, we totally see her waltzing away with plenty of A-list roles that stretch her talented muscles in more than one direction. Which is why we've named Miss Hough to our New Class as Most Likely To Be A Triple Threat—an accolade Julianne happily accepted.

"Obviously, it never gets old. Every day, I am shocked and surprised and so excited that anybody would want to put me in any kind of list or category as up and comers," she said. "That's the dream. I've always wanted to do this and to be recognized for something that you always want, but it's so hard to even think you can achieve. It's pretty crazy; it's surreal. Thank you!"

New GirlNot content limiting their Zooey Deschanel interactions to those hipster cotton commercials, TV viewers turned out in full force last night for the actress' quirky new series, "New Girl."

The Fox laugher stars Zooey as plucky Jess, a recently jilted girlfriend who makes a fresh start by moving into an apartment with three guys. A good thing for them—they'd never seen "Dirty Dancing"!

Despite the pilot being posted on Hulu and iTunes prior to its premiere, "New Girl" earned pretty stellar ratings, according to TVLine. In fact, it even bested its lead-in...a little series you may have heard of called "Glee."

Now, the question is, will viewers return next week? Personally, I felt like the series' ad campaign revealed way too much of the pilot, so I'll be tuning in to see what other giggles and gags the "New Girl" has planned for me before passing my final judgement. But what about you? Did Zooey win you over? Vote in our poll after the jump!

This summer, we've gone to Italy, the Hamptons and not-so deserted islands. We've been on the run from angel fanatics, werewolf hunters and misguided werewolves, gone into hiding to avoid rebel vampire factions, chased after rebel armies to retrieve our kidnapped twin, found ourselves impersonating our long-lost twin and discovered our ancestral talent for witchcraft. We've even traveled back in time to Victorian Manhattan, World War II and the very recent past.

Yep, as relaxing as the idea of a Summer Beach Read is, they've actually been kind of exhausting, if you think about it. Now that fall is approaching, and with it the kind of responsibilities that eat into our escapist reading habits, we're already looking back wistfully at the books we read this summer. Did you come along for the ride? Well, which was your favorite? Vote in our poll after the jump!

Including the characters from our favorite Fox musical series.

In the latest bit of "Glee" season three promotion to hit the web, 18 of Lima, Ohio's best and brightest have posed for a series of awkward school photos that we seriously can't get enough of.
