Gatsby. Merely uttering his name sends a shiver of delight down our spines. He's mysterious. He's gorgeous. He's insanely rich. And he's coming to theaters near us today.

His lavishly tumultuous tale, from the imagination of author F. Scott Fitzgerald, is gracing the silver screen once again thanks to Aussie director Baz Luhrmann ("Moulin Rouge"). Starring Leonardo DiCaprio (as Gatsby), Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan and Joel Edgerton, this modern adaptation spares no expense in portraying high society scandal and the American Dream in the time of jazz and prohibition.

First there was romance between a human and a vampire. Then, a love triangle between a human, a vampire and a werewolf. Srsly, what's next, humans lusting after little green men?

Actually, yes. But they are neither little nor green, nor in this case all male. They look just like us but with fluorescent eyes. And they drive really hot cars.

Stephenie Meyer's novel "The Host" is hitting the big screen this week. It carves a romantic tale within a post-apocalyptic world where parasitic aliens have taken over the human race, transforming it into a polite, pacifistic population of electric-eyed hotties with little emotional depth and great fashion sense. But they find their hold on the people of Earth challenged when one of their own gets a taste of human emotion and joins up with a rebellion (and totally falls in love with a human).

"Gattaca" and "The Truman Show" writer Andrew Niccol directs, and "The Lovely Bones"' Saoirse Ronan stars as Melanie and her alien invader, Wanda. Max Irons, Jake Abel and William Hurt co-star as rebel humans and Diane Krueger plays the unfeeling alien Soul who tries to put the kibosh on them all.

"Spring Breakers" isn't an average tale of sandy beach shenanigans, poolside partying and blackout drinking.

Instead, it's a gritty look at a dark side of the sun-soaked American co-ed tradition of spring break—with all the sex, guns and girls gone wild that go with it.

"Kids" screenwriter Harmony Korine penned and directed "Spring Breakers," starring former Disney princesses Selina Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, as well as "Pretty Little Liars" star Ashley Benson and Korine's own wife, Rachel. The film chronicles the seriously illegal and morally questionable misadventures of four friends as they steal, con, snort and shoot their way through a very memorable vacation in sunny Florida. A seedy local gangster named Alien (James Franco), chaperones their nefarious binging, landing the misfit gals smack in the middle of a gang war.

Sounds like a typical spring break...but before you go wild, here are five things you should do before seeing "Spring Breakers."

Disney's "Oz the Great and Powerful" hits theaters this week and we are so off to see the wizard.

"Spider-Man" director Sam Raimi helms this "Wizard of Oz" prequel in which James Franco plays a younger, hotter version of Oz, the powerful man behind the curtain, back in the days when he was just a womanizing circus magician from Kansas. When he gets swept away in a tornado to a mystical world whose inhabitants are convinced he's a wizard sent to save them from ruin, he has to prove that he's more than just a two-bit huckster. Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz and Mila Kunis co-star as the witches of Oz, who by turns help, thwart and woo him.

But before you check out of Kansas for that somewhere over the rainbow, here are five things you should do to prepare yourself for "Oz the Great and Powerful."

Before Samantha, Miranda, Charlotte, Aidan and Mr. Big, there was...the 11th grade. And shoulder pads.

The CW's new show "The Carrie Diaries" adds a prequel chapter to the saga of Carrie Bradshaw, dawning on a wide-eyed, teenaged Carrie living in a wealthy Connecticut suburb with her father and sister. The year is 1984. Madonna is queen, neon is in and Carrie has just lost her highly fashionable mother to cancer.

The show explores the humble high-school beginnings of everyone's favorite Manolo-wearing relationship columnist as she begins her long love affair with the only real "man" in her life: Manhattan. AnnaSophia Robb plays the 16-year-old version of Carrie in this new series based on the bestselling book series by "SATC" author Candace Bushnell.

Do you hear the people sing? In less than a week, you will hear that music! You will witness the romance! You will behold the majestic pantaloons and cravats!

Director Tom Hooper's ("The King's Speech") new musical film adaptation of "Les Miserables," starring Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried, is coming to theaters this very Christmas day. It's a tale of war, strife and romance set amid the tumult of 19-century France, where fashion is frilly and tigers come at night.

Some of us were born ready for this, already knowing the story and music by heart (having spent long hours prancing around our childhood bedrooms pretending that we're in a castle on a cloud...). 5 Things To Do Before Seeing 'Pitch Perfect'

Warm up those vocal chords, people—here comes "treble!" (And if you don't know what that means, you deserve to be pitch-slapped.)

"Pitch Perfect" hits select theaters this week, and then sings its way into a theater near you October 5. Loosely based on the nonfiction book "Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate A Cappella Glory" by Mickey Rapkin, the movie follows the musical adventures of the a cappella groups of fictional Barden College. The notes, sparks and snark fly between the cocky reigning champion all-male group and the dejected, old-fashioned all-female group when freshman Beca (Anna Kendrick) arrives on campus and shakes up the musical status quo. Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, Elizabeth Banks and Skylar Astin also star in this fest of musical mayhem from director Jason Moore (who also brought the world the hit puppet musical "Avenue Q.")

But before you can indulge in the mm-bopping, doo-wopping good time that is sure to ensue in theaters, here are five things you really must try:
