"The Perks of Being a Wallflower" hits theaters this week in New York and L.A., and we are so ready to hit up the Island of Misfit Toys. Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller star in this adaptation of the bestselling 1999 novel by Stephen Chbosky, chronicling the coming of age of an introverted high school freshman named Charlie (Logan) through his letters to an anonymous friend. The story focuses on the true taste of life this self-professed wallflower gets when he befriends the free-spirited, older duo of Sam (Emma) and Patrick (Ezra). His ensuing experiences over the course of this formative year are equal parts hysterical, profound and sobering, and are sure to strike a chord in anyone who ventures to bear witness.

But before you submerse yourself in the nostalgia of teen angst, you might want to make sure to have a few life experiences first that may help you make the most of your trip to the theater. So here are five things to do before seeing "Perks":

Ahh weddings. The flowers, the aisle, the vows, the bone-crushing hangover from the bachelorette party the night before...

For those of you who have never been to an actual bachelorette party, or those who have but would like to experience one without the nasty day-after side effects, "Bachelorette" hits theaters this week, offering a booze-laden, stripper-tastic night of all the traditional debauchery packed into a 91-minute (nonalcoholic) punch.

In this case, bride-to-be Becky (Rebel Wilson) gets a little more than she bargained for in pre-wedding festivities when she asks three of her old high school chums to serve as bridesmaids. The problem is, those old pals used to make merciless fun of her back in school, and they haven't quite grown up. Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan star as the trio of maladjusted b'maids who attempt to throw a bachelorette party for Becky that starts out as an innocent night of drinking and male strippers, and spirals out control into an experience that even getting blackout drunk can't make them forget.

So, ahead of getting your party on at the theater, here are five things you should do before seeing "Bachelorette":

We know that natural predators like bears and bees can smell fear, but the big bad super-natural predator in "The Apparition" sees right into your fearful soul, and feeds off your terror like a it was a bacon-wrapped, cocaine-laced donut.

"The Apparition" stars Alice—er—Ashley Greene and Sebastian Stan as a young couple who find themselves terrorized in their new home by an evil presence (see above reference to the donut) that they later learn was conjured in a university parapsychology experiment gone awry. The film is centered around the urban legend that you can create supernatural horrors just by believing them into existence, hence the tagline "Once you believe, you die." Tom Felton of "Harry Potter" fame co-stars as a supernatural expert—who was present during the aforementioned experiment—that the young couple calls on for help. It's full of thrills, chills and good, old-fashioned, pants-pooping jump-scares, and hits theaters this week.

Before you risk soiling yourself in public though, here are five things you can do to get ready for a viewing of "The Apparition":

Hey divas, it's time to wrap that feather boa around your neck, don your most eye-catching sequins and rhinestones, warm up those vocal cords and prepare to sing your little hearts out. Whitney Houston's last film ever, the musical saga, "Sparkle," is about to hit theaters, y'all. And we want you to be ready for a bedazzling time.

"Sparkle" is a remake of a 1976 film of the same name, which gave birth to the iconic Motown hit "Something He Can Feel" and was based loosely on the real-life rise to fame of Diana Ross and the Supremes. "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks stars in the modern version as Sparkle, a musical prodigy coming of age in 1960s-era Detroit, who struggles to make it in Motown in a girl group she forms with her two sisters. Whitney Houston, who also served as executive producer of the film, co-stars as her soulful but strict single mother, and smokin' hot Derek Luke plays her manager boyfriend. The story centers around the challenges and triumphs they all face in a world where making it in music is life. Original tunes as well as familiar favorites provide the soundtrack, which is voiced by some of the world's best and brightest performers.

But like any good musician knows, warm-up is essential for a great performance. So here are five things you can do to get ready for this musical extravaganza hitting theaters this week:

Step Up Revolutionby Jessica Marshall

The very mention of "Step Up Revolution" makes us feel like dancing. And we're not talking about a nice wholesome waltz. We're talking about the butt-shaking, hip-swinging, foot-stomping, back-flipping brand of dancing that could potentially get you arrested if performed in a public place.

The fourth film in the successful "Step Up" franchise—which introduced the world to the many, many talents of one Channing Tatum ("Step Up" and "Step Up 2: The Streets") and the true value of dance in three dimensions ("Step Up 3D")—has kicked it up a notch. This time around, Miami plays host to a group of talented dance mobbers who use their energetic ensemble dancing to make a statement when a ruthless developer rolls into town and threatens to bulldoze their community. "So You Think You Can Dance" alum Kathryn McCormick stars alongside newcomer Ryan Guzman and veteran actor Peter Gallagher in this dance-tastic film hitting theaters this week.

So before you bump, krump, pirouette or even lindy hop (if that's yo' thing) your way to the theater, brush up those sick moves first. Here are five things to do before seeing "Step Up Revolution":

He's tall. He's dark. He's handsome. He's...BATMAN. And the next chapter of this vigilante’s dark adventures in Gotham City unfolds this week. Christian Bale reprises his role as the big black bat in this third and final installment of director Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise, once again donning the perfect six-packed bat suit and delivering his dialogue in that sexy, grunty voice.

This time, Batman is forced out of a self-imposed exile to stop the evil (and insanely well-muscled) terrorist Bane (Tom Hardy) from wiping Gotham from the face of the planet. And if that wasn’t enough, he also has to avoid the deadly charms of another good-looking, black-clad super-villain, the nefarious Catwoman (Anne Hathaway). Against those odds, how will our hero save the day?

Going to catch this summer blockbuster? Here are five things to do before seeing "The Dark Knight Rises."

Snow White and the Huntsmanby Jessica Marshall

You know the story: An evil queen obsessed with staying young and beautiful for all eternity is so jealous of her youthfully pure step-daughter that she sends a brawny huntsman into the forest to kill her. The huntsman takes pity on the poor beauty and lets her live. Then they meet some dwarfs in the woods, commune with an antlered wildebeest and lead a revolution against the evil queen's tyranny. Oh yeah, and there's a really hot kiss in there too. How 'bout them apples?

"Snow White and the Huntsman" isn't your average fairy tale flick. This action-packed, visually stunning film starring “Twilight” babe Kristen Stewart, Oscar-winner Charlize Theron and the achingly beautiful Chris Hemsworth mixes classic lore with modern style and a whole lot of lustful gazing. A dark tone and alternative take on the well-known story distinguish it from other "Snow White" adaptations, namely in that the huntsman plays a larger role. We're very happy about that.

So before you catch “Snow White and the Huntsman” in theaters, enhance your viewing pleasure (and bring your own life closer to a fairy tale) by doing these five things:

We know the main reason many of you may be hitting theaters this weekend to see the Nicholas Sparks adaptation "The Lucky One." That reason has big blue eyes and rippling biceps, and his name is Zac Efron.

Zac beefed up to play Logan Thibault (pronounced “Tee-bow” like New York Jets QB Tim Tebow), a former U.S. Marine sergeant fresh off three tours in Iraq. When Logan comes home with a serious case of PTSD and an anonymous wallet-sized photo of an attractive woman (Taylor Schilling) that literally saved his life overseas, he gets it in his head to go on a cross-country trek to thank her. He finds this mystery woman, Beth, in a small Louisiana town, where she runs a doggie hotel with her eccentric grandmother (Blythe Danner) and her whip smart, tow-headed son Ben (Riley Thomas Stewart). Romance blooms amid the splendor of the South despite a number of obstacles, not least of which includes Beth’s jealous, gun-toting ex-husband.

While you think you may be prepared for an eyeful of Efron, there are other preparations we suggest you make before heading to the theater that can enhance your viewing pleasure even more. Here are five things to do before seeing “The Lucky One.”
