Renee Zellweger can indulge in a 4,000-calorie diet of Snickers, milkshakes and pizza once again, seeing as the lithe star needs to add some curves to reprise her role as quirky publishing exec Bridget Jones.
A third installment of the series based on the novels by Helen Fielding is in the early stages of development, and according to Variety , the plot will likely center around Bridget trying to have a baby in her 40s. Read More...

If you saw "I Love You, Beth Cooper" over the weekend, then you know that along with Hayden Panettiere and Paul Rust, there's one other "star" in the high school rom com that got lots and lots of screen time: Paul's Spiderman underpants. The actor's alter-ego Dennis Cooverman winds showing off his Spidey covered bum after a series of unfortunate events, but Paul says it wasn't so easy to get those skivvies into the film in the first place. "Marvel wouldn't normally release their trademark Spiderman to be on the butt of a guy — of a skinny guy! — but the director, Chris Columbus, has a really great relationship with Marvel," Paul told Hollywood Crush. "So he just made a call and they were like, 'Sure!'"

Though Paul Rusts token brainiac valedictorian Dennis' confession of love to Hayden Panettiere's Beth Cooper in this weekend's "I Love You, Beth Cooper" was a once-in-a-lifetime, perspective changing event, "Beth Cooper" is far from the first movie to declare its feelings to, well, us via the main title.

"Everyone Says I Love You": Woody Allen created his career by making movies that analyze the truth behind love and relationships ("Annie Hall" and "Manhattan," anybody?) and his 1996 comedy/musical "Everyone Says I Love You" starring Edward Norton and Drew Barrymore is no different. With her new flick "I Love You, Beth Cooper," Hayden Panettiere captures Paul Rust's heart as the titular high school goddess, Beth Cooper. Her stereotypical popular head cheerleader role quickly develops into a not-so-stereotypical, three-dimensional character who Paul's Denis Cooverman discovers might not be the same girl he'd idolized for so long. Nonetheless, Hayden, whose only offscreen pom pom experience includes playing one for Halloween and once at a game when she was very young, still manages to make being peppy believable in "Beth Cooper" as she's no stranger to putting on the uniform for her roles.

"Remember the Titans": Though she wasn't wearing a uniform, Hayden's breakout performance as Coach Bill Yoast's daughter Sheryl was of a much better team supporter than the Titans own head cheerleader (a pre-"Blue Crush" Kate Bosworth). Her accurate side-line football criticism and encouragement was sure to make coaches nationwide wonder if they should have their own daughters tag along to football practice. Read More...

Christina Applegate will officially be able to say, Samantha ... who? as of today. The Hollywood Reporter announced that the star of the recently canceled ABC sitcom would be joining Drew Barrymore and Justin Long in a new rom com, "Going the Distance."
Charlie Day, who stars in and helped create "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," has also been cast in the new flick, which is about a couple (Drew and Justin) trying to keep their long-distance relationship alive. Christina will play Drew's sister and Charlie Justin's best pal. Read More...

What happens when a super nerdy high school valedictorian professes his love for the most popular girl in class? That's the question at the heart of the upcoming romantic teen comedy, "I Love You, Beth Cooper." The flick, starring "Heroes" hottie Hayden Panettiere as Beth Cooper and Paul Rust as the wannabe lover, doesn't hit theaters until July 10, but we've got a first look with five exclusive clips.
One other thing worth noting: The film is directed by Chris Columbus, who's directed such prior fare as two "Harry Potter" movies, both "Home Alone" flicks and seminal '80s teen film "Adventures in Babysitting." Carrie Bradshaw must have one serious line of credit at Bloomingdales, because according to "Sex and the City" stylist Patricia Field, the chic columnist's signature style won't be impacted by the recession in the upcoming "SATC" sequel.
Originally, star Sarah Jessica Parker said the recent financial crisis would be reflected in the sequel, which is slated for a spring 2010 release. "Our country has changed significantly in a year," Contact Music quoted the actress as saying. "She will have been affected and she's not an idiot. She's gonna have to change her thinking about indulgence." But costumer Pat, who was also responsible for the fab fashions in "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Confessions of a Shopaholic," put her well-shod foot down, saying there will be none of the sort. The cast of Garry Marshall's "Valentine's Day" is long enough to wear out your eyes. The romantic comedy boasts Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper and Ashton Kutcher. But because it just wasn't big enough, The Hollywood Reporter says that they've added three more: Topher Grace, Emma Roberts, and Hector Elizondo. This will be first time Emma has worked with her aunt Julia on the big screen.
"Valentine's" promises to be an ensemble film similar to "Love, Actually" and focus on five interconnecting stories that all take place in Los Angeles, and all on that day of love. THR is silent on what just those stories might be, but they do report that Grace will play a mailroom worker in an L.A. talent agent, and who is dating Hathaway.
