Hollywood Crush has moved! come with us to mtv news »

Remember a couple of weeks ago when we said that nobody, no-how, could pull off the pegged-ankle formal jumpsuit trend that has emerged in the past year? Well, fine. We were wrong. One person—one!—is apparently able to rock the look without coming off lumpy and ill-proportioned...and that person, through her sheer uniqueness, is this week's Style Superstar.

And we probably shouldn't be surprised that if any one person was going to prove us wrong on the jumpsuit front, it would be Ashley Madekwe. The supporting star of "Revenge," who is as beautiful of face and delicate of frame as a spindly-legged baby deer, put on this Topshop number for an LA event celebrating the designer's new "New Wave" collection—and looked amazing in it. The creamy color and simple check print are lovely against her skin, and the suit skims her frame in exactly the way it's supposed to (and the way these one-piece frocks refuse to do on just about anyone else.) Simple black sandals and understated jewelry completed the outfit for a polished, breezy spring look.

With warmer temperatures just around the corner, most celebs are starting to put away their sexy leather looks until things cool off again. (Black leather leggings and 90-degree heat: not a good combo.) But as long as spring stays chilly, at least two of our favorite stars are still working their biker-chic aesthetic like a couple of bosses...or Style Superstars, as the case may be. Whose last-gasp leather look slayed us this week?

No surprise here: this week's winning fashionista is Selena Gomez, who paused after an appearance on the "Late Show With David Letterman" to let fans feast their eyes on her Burberry trench coat and Brian Atwood boots. Selena is emerging as a serious style icon these days, and this look just further cements her trendsetter status: Footwear like this is hard to pull off, which just goes to show what a true-born Style Superstar Selena really is. Those boots are ridiculous and they look amazing on her, not least because she kept it simple with the matte black trench, natural makeup, and her long locks styled in casual, glossy waves—and no accessories, save for the esoteric touch of a teensy glittering jewel between her eyebrows.

Although we love a pretty dress or glam gown as much as the next guy, there's something extra sexy and stylish about a woman who can rock some menswear—as evidenced by not one, but two of Hollywood's finest femme fatales having put on their party pants this week. One of them is our Style Superstar; the other is...well, something, anyway. Who's legging it out in our fashion feature?

First up: It's Carey Mulligan, who pre-empted what's sure to be a seriously glamorous series of Gatsby-related appearances with a striking androgynous look at the Tiffany and Co. Blue Book Ball. With her hair in a platinum pompadour and her face kept very bare, Carey traded her usual feminine style for something that looks straight out of Tilda Swinton's closet —and we looooooove it. This Victoria Beckham tuxedo with a down-to-there plunge neckline is so flattering on her, and the cutaway sleeves add a chic edge to the otherwise classic silhouette.

It's been a long time coming, ladies and gents, but Miss Ashley Tisdale has finally found herself on the right side of our Style Superstar feature! ...And by "right," we actually mean "left," since that's where we put our pictured pick for most favoritest red carpet outfit each week. Whatever. Semantics. The point is, Ashley sported this Maria Lucia Hohan gown at the Los Angeles premiere of "Scary Movie 5"—and we could just scream, it looks so good.

This grownup, gothic glamour is just the thing for an actress who's struggled to inject a little maturity into her wardrobe. Oftentimes, Ashley walks the red carpet in looks that would be more appropriate for a teenage girl; this time, she went big with a sleek silhouette, a sparkly fabric and lots of alluring cutout details that showed off her flawless figure and made her look every inch the grownup lady she is. Own it, Ashley! (Sure, the vibe of the thing is a little "Elvira"—but where else would you wear such a thing if not to the L.A. premiere of a spoof horror flick?) The only thing that stinks about this dress is how nobody managed to catch it from a better angle; we would have loved to see it in motion.

Rosario Dawson is, alas, one of the stylish celebs whom we don't see nearly enough on the red carpet. But when she does emerge? She kills it. Exhibit A: her latest look, from the New York premiere of her new movie, "Trance," which is an exercise in Style Superstar-worthy perfection.

Rosario's statuesque silhouette was beautifully flattered by this sophisticated Bottega Veneta dress, with blouson sleeves, a leather belt and an asymmetrical zip accent that keeps the pretty pink look from veering into twee territory. The dusty rose shade is great on her, too—as are the mauve patent pumps that finish off the look, an unexpected touch that's also a great example of Rosario's uncanny style intuition. Most people would've gone with a boring neutral shoe, but not our Superstar!

The Oscars might present a major sartorial challenge for Hollywood's young stars—what to wear for an event where everyone and anyone is ready to pounce on your slightest fashion flaw?—but they're nothing compared to the conundrum of dressing for the Kids' Choice Awards: where, in addition to looking pretty and put-together on the red carpet, you must be prepared for the eventuality of getting slimed with grody green goop. Which is why this week's Style Superstar featurees get kudos not just for cuteness, but courage, as they braved the one and only awards show where things can get truly messy and an adorable outfit is at high risk for ruination.

This week's winner? It's Bella Thorne, who struck the perfect balance of fresh, fun and fancy in her two-piece metallic shell and miniskirt. A lot of stars arrive at the Kids' Choice Awards overdressed, but this outfit is exactly right: a classic silver sheath, some edgy pops of color (a green beaded necklace and pink patent heels) and free-flowing hair. Bella struck just the right mood for the year's most whimsical awards event! And she didn't get slimed, either. Bonus.

They might be small-screen stars, but this week's Style Superstar featurees took some big, bold risks with their outfits this week, combining bright colors and wild patterns to create two amazingly eye-catching looks. Whose slanted take on the mod era won us over? And whose ensemble nearly drove us mad? Check it!

AnnaSophia Robb doesn't just play a Style Superstar on TV; the "Carrie Diaries" actress also bowled us over off-set with this diagonal stripe leather shift dress from Alice + Olivia at the Broadway opening for "Breakfast at Tiffany's." Carrie Bradshaw would definitely approve of this fun, flattering look—especially the surprise pops of color from her pink suede heels and green bag.

Spring break forever, bitches! ...Is this week's red-carpet battle cry, as the ladies of the new flick "Spring Breakers" finally had their big day at the film's L.A. premiere. And while the cast spends most of their screen time wearing neon bikinis, their night out in Hollywood called for a little more glamour—including the outfit that landed this week's Style Superstar award. Who's our winning spring breaker?

Selena Gomez! Between the grown-up grit of her latest role and this blazing beauty of a Reem Acra dress, there's no question that the teen Disney-Channel sensation has what it takes to make the jump into sophisticated star territory. This color is amazing on her, and the illusion mesh with starburst beading adds a cool touch of character to the plunging neckline—dialing down the in-your-face sex appeal for something a little more mysterious. With sleek, free-flowing hair and a bold red lip, Selena looks poised, confident, and ready to take on whatever Hollywood wants to throw at her...and most definitely like a Style Superstar.

After weeks of awards season haute couture, all those glamorous evening gowns are starting to blur together into one giant, indiscriminate blob of chiffon-satin-organza-whatever. So this week, we're giving ourselves a break from the dress parade, and the Style Superstar props to a pair of ladies who went for fresh, sleek, sophisticated looks that involve...pants. Pants! Imagine!

This week's best? It's Zoe Saldana, who wins all of the awards for her chic look at the Miu Miu show during Paris Fashion Week. Skinny leather leggings, sophisticated stilettos, a pop of bright lipstick and the perfect cozy camel coat to finish it off. This outfit, with its clean lines and contrasting textures, is Exhibit A in the case for Zoe as the reigning queen of casual style. Well played, Superstar.

Needless to say, it's all about Oscar night in the Style Superstar competition this week. The biggest of the big-deal awards ceremonies brought out every celebrity in existence, whether they were walking the official pre-ceremony red carpet or getting glammed-up for a swanky viewing party. But rather than pulling from the pool of obvious Oscar-nominated contenders—not least because Jennifer Lawrence's voluminous ballgown, Jessica Chastain's flawless bombshell look, and Anne Hathaway's unfortunately-placed pintucks have already been discussed to death—we decided to look for our Style Superstar elsewhere... and we didn't have to look any further than the Elton John AIDS Foundation party, where Danai Gurira was absolutely killing it.

Who knew Michonne was such a secret glamour cat? Danai, who plays a katana-wielding survivalist on "The Walking Dead" (and who's rarely seen on-screen in anything but the same blood-smeared, zombie-juice-splattered combat boots, vest and jeans) pulled out all the stops on Oscar night, in a dazzling ultra-pink gown with artful cutouts, sumptuous draping, and wide straps that perfectly showcase her incredibly toned arms and shoulders. With sparkly deco earrings and a down-to-the-scalp haircut, the actress was a statuesque stunner —and she's most definitely a Style Superstar.
