For a weekend that was filled with sad news, many took to Twitter, not only to spread the word about how people can do their part for those suffering in Japan, but for some brief escapism in the form of entertainment. Followers of singer Katy Perry learned the latest about her single "E.T." when she posted, "WE'RE #1 ON ITUNES! GREAT news to wake up to! Thank u for ur AMAZING support," while "Harry Potter" actress Emma Watson announced, "It starts with an L and ends with an E. I’m sure you have guessed the new face of Lancôme is me! :-) ."

On the other end of the Hollywood spectrum came some particularly great news out of the 2011 SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. The three-day movie, music and art fest has become a go-to spot for film premieres, which this year includes the comedy Hollywood Crush simply can't wait to see: "Bridesmaids." The flick—and particularly its star/co-writer Kristen Wiig (pictured here in a scene from the movie)—received raves from those who attended the screening. "Paul" star Simon Pegg praised, "It is without doubt the funniest film I have seen in a long, long time. LOVED it" as "The Back-Up Plan" sidekick Michaela Watson assured, "Saw screening #bridesmaids last nite.Hats off to Kristin Wiig 'n everyone else involved for revolutionizing womens' roles in comedy 4 ever!"

We've got to hand it to you, Crushers. When we asked you to send along some questions via Twitter for the one and only Robert Pattinson—who just so happens to be stopping by MTV on Friday to have a chat with us about his latest, "Water for Elephants"—we thought we might get only thousands upon thousands of marriage proposals for the star.

And while we did get a few "Will you marry me, Rob?" propositions (hey, it never hurts to ask, does it?!) we received an overwhelming number of thoughtful, creative questions for the "Twilight" star.

As we count down to RPattz Friday (or, as its known around the MTV offices, "He's almost here, HE'S ALMOST HERE, YOU GUYS!") we're going to post our favorite fan inquiries for the actor each day, and perhaps yours will make Josh Horowitz's interview with Rob on March 18.

So keep these awesome questions for Rob coming on Twitter—just send them to @MTVNews with the hash tag #AskRob—and maybe we'll post them right here on Hollywood Crush.

The terrifying images coming out of Japan, which was devastated on Friday, March 11, when it was hit by an 8.9-magnitude earthquake and then a tsunami, was all the talk of Twitter. Celebrities the world over got on their pages to send their thoughts and condolences to all those who have been displaced or have loved ones who are lost or missing. Many spread the word about how everyone can do their part to help, including actress Nina Dobrev, who told followers, "Cannot believe whats happened in Japan..the footage is surreal and scary. What is happening to the earth? Please Text “Red Cross” to 90999." As actor Austin Nichols explained, "Text - redcross - to 90999. And $10 will be charged to your cell phone bill. Let's support those families in #Japan."

Some stars were personally affected by the tragedy, including TV host Jimmy Kimmel, who found himself in the midst of the natural disaster, as his vacation in French Polynesia turned terrifying. "Suddenly, relaxing on an island in the South Pacific isn't so relaxing anymore," he wrote. Then, later in the day he alerted fans, "we are evacuating the island." Jimmy's fans took to their Twitter pages to send him the best, including Alyssa Milano who wrote, "@jimmykimmel Please let us know when you're safe, Jimmy. Sending you love."

The West coast also braced for the impact from what happened in Japan. Actor Daniel Dae Kim tried to carry on on the set of "Hawaii Five-0" and left this heartfelt message, " Back at work, bleary eyed & heartsick, but very grateful. As far as I know, everyone is safe. Thx 2 all of you 4 your kind thoughts. Truly."

Lady Gaga came bearing some impressive news today about her latest single, "Born This Way." The singer posted from her page, "BTW's 4th week at #1 on BILLBOARD + World Charts is both a musical+cultural triumph. Monsters it's official. You're Punk Art Pop Revolution." Gaga (pictured) also wrote that the successful song has especially great meaning to her because, "The point, with "Born This Way," is to fight for something that not everyone believes in. To overcome adversity with a message."

While Gaga fans can look forward to plenty more from the eccentric pop star, "Harry Potter" fans know their road is quickly coming to an end. With the beloved series' final installment, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," just months away, it's not just "HP's" hardcore devotees that are getting sad about saying goodbye. Actor Tom Felton (a.k.a. Draco Malfoy) acknowledged what many of us have been thinking for some time, "Very excited and yet kinda sad about coming up to promoting the last HP. Can't wait to see the film though! Will be epic."

When your Twitter handle is @evilhag and you list your location as "hell swamp," it's bound to raise a few questions during an interview. Such is the case for "Parks and Recreation" actress Aubrey Plaza, who not only admitted she gets asked about her unique username a lot but has had a weird obsession with the underwater creature since she was young. But she also has an ingenious plan to make it all pay off.

"I would totally do a fairytale," she told MTV News' Josh Horowitz about her favorite mythical creature. "I would love to do like a 'Twilight'-esque sea hag movie where I'm just playing this dark, witchy creature, like, in a cave, and I fall in love with some hot wood nymph."

In case it wasn't already completely obvious: Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith's kids are getting ready to take over the world, whether we're ready or not. So it was only a matter of time until Willow Smith and her brother, Jaden Smith, set their sights on conquering the Twitterverse as well. While Willow is already something of a seasoned pro at tweeting, Jaden is new to the game, and it's all thanks to his pal, fellow teenage pop culture invader, Justin Bieber. On Monday, the Biebs stated, "Jaden needs twitter" and, as expected, he made it happen (he takes this "never say never" mantra very seriously, gang!) Jaden (pictured here with Justin) sent out his first-ever tweet later that evening, "Chillin with my bro @justinbieber." Then on Wednesday morning, Justin, apparently set on making this global takeover a partnership, posted, "everyone follow @officialjaden and get him to 500,000 followers today!"

But Justin and Jaden weren't the only ones looking out for each other today. Ian Somerhalder gave a big shout-out to his "Vampire Diaries" co-star (and his rumored off-screen love interest) Nina Dobrev for herTeen Vogue cover story, as he posted, "The lovely and talented @ninadobrev on the cover of TEEN VOGUE!Get it on mag stands&let the publishing world know how awesome she really is!" As did another one of "Vampire"'s leading ladies, Kat Graham, who wrote to her friend, "@ninadobrev covers teen vogue :) http://t.co/Z5wfRm3." A gracious Nina tweeted back, "THX;)"
