The cast of "The Hills" — old and new — flew the L.A. coop for the weekend and headed to the East Coast to hit up the Video Music Awards. We're a little awestruck that Heidi Montag (a.k.a. Miss Wouldn't A Big Event Ever) didn't grace the awards with her presence, but we guess the alleged Audrina Patridge vs. Kristin Cavallari spat was enough to give us our "Hills" drama fix for the night. (Though Kristin told MTV on the red carpet that she "doesn't get along with Audrina," she refuted claims that the "Sorority Row" star didn't show up to the VMAs because of a feud between the two of them. Kristin said she had always been planning to present a Moonman alongside Nelly Furtado and not Audrina, as it had been rumored.)

Remember back in July when the Emmy nominations were announced and we ranted and raved about "True Blood" getting snubbed and casted aside faster than you can say "Sookie Stackhouse"? Well, it looks like our pleas were partially paid attention to. They can't exactly re-vote on nominations with the big show being less than a week away, so the next best pat on the back for the Emmy's to give a television show is to invite one (or more!) of its stars to present a trophy on stage.

The lucky "True Blood" cast member to land on the (just-announced) first-round list of presenters, according to CBS is ... drumroll, please ... Stephen Moyer. We know, we know, it's no Alexander Skarsgard, but in the case of vampires appearing at award shows, we'll gladly take the always gentlemanly Bill Compton. Plus, now that he's engaged to costar Anna Paquin, doesn't that mean he'll take her as his date? It'll be two-for-one! Read More...

Tonight "Gossip Girl" makes its big return to the small screen. And, Taylor Momsen is warning fans that if they thought seasons 1 and 2 had some crazy antics, then they are in for quite a bombshell when they tune in tonight for the show's big season three premiere.

"It's a lot of fun," she said about the upcoming season, adding that fans just need to watch if they want to know exactly what she means. "A lot of mix-ups this year in the season. It's cool. Stay tuned, for sure."

With the MTV Video Music Video Awards a little more than 48 hours away (you must have the exact time memorized, though after downloading our "New Moon" countdown clock, right?), it's time to get down to the nitty-gritties. And we're not talking about what the stars are wearing (though we're counting on you, Ashley Greene to do just that!). No, we're talking about something just as important—where they're sitting!

Just like a fabulous dinner party, strategizing the seating chart at the VMAs is a practice in social science. Exes side by side? No way! Mortal enemies rubbing elbows? Forget it! So where does that leave your favorite performers sitting? And more specifically, where are your favorite "Twilight" stars putting their cute butts? Watch the clip below to peek at where "New Moon" buds Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart's "place cards" can be located in Radio City Music Hall.

After the jump, check out where we originally thought we might be able to find Robert Pattinson (OME!) in the audience. Read More...

In only eight months since its inception, the popular user-generated blog Texts From Last Night has managed to not only score a book deal, but according to Variety , a spin-off television series as well.

Fox is developing the comedy which will be penned by "The Big Bang Theory" scribe Steve Holland. It's been reported he will "loosely base the show's characters and plot on the whole idea of racy—and sometimes embarrassing—communication, particularly among the twentysomething set." Read More...

It seems "The Vampire Diaries" has arrived at exactly the right time — "True Blood" wraps up its second season this weekend, leaving a vampire-shaped void in our television-watching schedule. If last night's premiere is any indication, the new CW show will do quite nicely as our newest blood-sucking obsession. While "True Blood" is a little on the mature side of the vampires-on-film trend (read: racy), the sexy vampire-in-love-with-strong-willed-mortal-girl story has been translated to high school by Kevin Williamson, who has combined the soapiness of his "Dawson's Creek" with the creepiness of "Scream" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with a dollop of his trademark wit to top it all off.

Fans of L.J. Smith's "Vampire Diaries" books might argue about the details, but it seems to me, a "VD" virgin, that the show follows the same premise as the book series: Elena, who has recently lost her parents in a car crash, starts her senior year of high school and meets two vampire brothers. Love triangle ensues. Read More...

Not that you need to be reminded, but "The Vampire Diaries" premieres tonight at 8 pm E.T. on the CW. We already made the brotherly babes Ian Somerholder and Paul Wesley our Hump Day Hotties this week, but that certainly wasn't enough to your blood (get it?) flowing now was it?

Ian, a.k.a. Damon Salvatore, stopped by our offices this week, and after seriously swooning over how striking he is in person (yes, those baby blue's really are hypnotizing), we talked to him about the bad boy vampire he plays in the TV adaptation of L.J. Smith's novels. "He makes trouble," Ian says. "Even people who do good things in the world, some do bad things too, and ... they have their reasons. Damon has his reasons and truly believes what he is doing is right." Read More...

From vampires to shape-shifters, there's no shortage of sexy creatures on "True Blood" — but one monster that thoroughly gives us the creeps is Maryann Forrester, the devil-worshipping maenad that currently has the folks of Bon Temps in the palm of her hand.

But viewers aren't the only ones feeling icky at the thought of Maryann's literally heart-wrenching actions — Michelle Forbes, who plays the "True Blood" villain, is equally terrified by the character's potential.

"Before I started the show at the end of last season and I was talking to a director, and we were chatting about how far we would go, and he said, 'You'll be asked to do things you've never been asked before,'" Forbes remembered in an interview with Sci Fi Wire. "I remember thinking, 'Yeah, sure.' I've been asked to do some pretty crazy things. I didn't take him seriously. But I opened that first episode for the second season and went 'Okayyy. Now I understand what he meant!'" Read More...
