Poor Caroline. What did this girl ever do to deserve so many evil vampires taking advantage of her? On last night's "Vampire Diaries," newscaster-turned-vampire Logan Fell was the latest to manipulate sweet Caroline. Well, not so much manipulate as smash her head into a car window. But he used her as bait to get to her mom, the sheriff.
Maybe it's because I didn't really like Logan in the first place, or maybe it's because I'm in a post-"New Moon" exhaustion haze, but I didn't particularly care for "The Turning Point," especially compared to the previous several episodes. It felt more like it was setting up future plots rather than moving the current plot along, if that makes any sense. Kind of like the pilot — it had potential; it just didn't really grab me like other episodes have.

Love is in the air, Gleeks! While last night’s episode was called “Ballads” it could have very well been called “Crushes” or, more fittingly, “Crushed.” Not to say that the evening wasn’t chock full of ballads (because, oh, was it ever), but unrequited love seemed to be the show’s recurring theme last night.
While Mr. Schue taught New Directions about just what a ballad is, (“Glee” also seconds as “Music for Dummies” most weeks) it seemed Rachel derailed her crush on Finn (Kurt will take it from here, thanks) and focused it on her oh-so-dreamy glee club teacher. As Mr. Schue paired up the McKinley High crooners (Puck with Mercedes, Artie with Quinn, Finn with Kurt and Tina with Other Asian) he got saddled with the saucer-eyed Rachel. Taking over for Diana Ross and Lionel Richie, a visibly uncomfortable Mr. Schue and Rachel set the tone for the evening.

Aha, "Vampire Diaries" viewers! I knew all along Damon had to have some sort of powerfully emotional ulterior motive behind his evil actions. We learned last night, through the informational reveal of Bonnie's lineage, exactly why he returned to Mystic Falls — for love, of course.
Bonnie had another dream so realistic that she woke up in the cemetery in her pajamas. She was following a woman, Emily, through the woods. As Emily turned around, she implored Bonnie to help her with something. "This is where it started, and this is where it has to end. Help me!" Bonnie was so scared and tired of Emily haunting her that she threw the crystal away.
Elena, Bonnie, and Caroline got together for a girls' night (kind of like the ones they have in real life, I'd imagine), the ladies apologized for their feuding, Bonnie told Caroline that she's a witch (which took a little convincing), and Caroline decided they should hold a séance to tell Emily to stop haunting Bonnie. Can you say "backfire"? Emily didn't talk to Bonni ... she possessed her.

Hold the phone, Gleeks, is a show that’s called “Glee” supposed to make me cry this much? That was the question I had on my mind as I unsuccessfully tried to choke back tears in last night’s super emotional episode, titled “Wheels.” While the series hasn’t shied away from tackling controversial topics before (teen pregnancy, homosexuality) they took it to the next level last night.
They may not have been armed with slushies last night, but there was still some tense situations unfolding with some members of New Directions.
The already complicated love triangle between Finn, Quinn, and Puck (who just keeps getting cuter by the week, no?) got worse as Quinn pressured/threatened Finn to get a job to help her with pregnancy finances. As Finn flounders (the poor guy is just too tall for Olive Garden) Puck steps up to help his baby mama and he proves he can be all she needs out of a partner. Quinn, despite laying into Finn for nearly the entire hour doesn’t (yet) choose Puck. While I’d hate to see Finn get hurt, the flirty food fight between Quinn and Puck made me think they’d make an awfully cute, albeit somewhat dysfunctional, family.

After the shocking events on last week's "The Vampire Diaries" (RIP Vicki, we hardly knew ye), I thought last night's episode was fated to be far less interesting. I have to stop underestimating Kevin Williamson (who had a great chat with MTV.com the other day about how he will NOT hesitate to kill off main characters) and Julie Plec, because clearly, I was so, so wrong. Death by staking two episodes in a row? I never saw it coming.
Yet again, Williamson and Plec introduced us to a sassy young vampire lady who made us laugh, made us cry, then took a sharp wooden stake to the heart. But this time, we were only able to enjoy her presence for a mere episode. The aforementioned sadly departed vampiress, Lexi (Arielle Kebbel), surprised her old friend Stefan (they go back 100 years) for a visit. Turns out, Lexi is the only other person besides Elena who can make him smile. Lexi also got Stefan to admit that he is in love with Elena, though she was freaked out by Elena's resemblance to Katherine — which she noticed when Elena just happened to drop by while Lexi was in her towel, causing some short-lived jealousy on Elena's part. Lexi worked her magic further by having a heart-to-heart with Elena about the fact that her true love was human, and their love was able to overcome the other obstacles (i.e. the whole one's immortal, one's not thing) and be together.

Warning, "Vampire Diaries" fangatics: if you haven't watched last night's episode, DROP EVERYTHING YOU'RE DOING AT WATCH IT IMMEDIATELY! If you have, then (SPOILER ALERT!) please join me in a moment of silence to mourn one of the most entertaining, most energizing, and most plain old awesome characters on the new series. Oh "VD," how you've killed off your most promising character much too soon.
In my recap two weeks ago, I wrote about how much I enjoyed Kayla Ewell's performance as a newly turned vampire. Unfortunately, that performance, plus the first half of last night's episode, is all we're going to get. In an act of extreme bravery, Stefan staked Vicki in the heart as she lost control of her new urge for human blood and attacked Elena in the parking lot of the high school during the annual Halloween party.

It was the night of a thousand slushie attacks! With Halloween right around the corner, the only thing scaring the kids of McKinley High School was the threat of getting the dreaded slushie facial. No one was safe, not even former A-listers Finn and Quinn. But, F & Q weren’t the only couple facing some unsavory situations. Engaged teachers Ken and Emma can’t decide on a wedding song — Emma wants the classy “I Could Have Danced All Night” from “My Fair Lady” while Ken opts for the slightly less classy “Thong Song” by Sisqo (“I need something I can shake my moneymaker to,” he cried.)
Emma asks Mr. Schuester to make a mash-up of the two songs for the wedding, which, let’s face it is no small task. But that’s hardly the only thing up Will’s sleeve when he busts a move. Literally. Will shows breaks it down for Young MC’s hip-hop classic “Bust a Move.” It wasn’t the only time he rapped in this episode, either (Matthew Morrison certainly channeled his old boy band days with his rendition of “The Thong Song.” We want more!)

After watching last night's episode of "The Vampire Diaries," I surely can't be the only one left wondering "Elena who?" While the diary-writing high-schooler finally had the confrontation with her boyfriend that we were all waiting for — he admitted that he's a vampire — the star of last night's episode was teenage rebel Vicki.
Thankfully, her fate wasn't sealed after Damon fed on her at the end of last week's episode (and I didn't think it would be, either. It's a little to early to kill a series regular so integral to many storylines. Despite the presence of Ian Somerhalder, this isn't "Lost.") After miraculously surviving a fang attack yet again, Damon decided to keep Vicki as a playmate while trapped inside for the day without his ring. When he realized her insane lack of self-esteem, he decided to spare her the misery by snapping her neck, killing her instantly. Though, as astute viewers such as myself (not to brag or anything) probably noticed, by giving her some of his blood to heal her wounds, Damon had completed step two of the vampire-making process. The third step required her to wake up and feed on human blood, completing the transformation.

Oil and water. Lauren and Heidi. Mr. Schuster and Sue Sylvester. This week’s episode of “Glee” featured a whole lot of tension, the worst of which was between the club’s polar opposite co-chairs. With the two teachers at each other’s throats, the kids of the glee club debate on what kind of music they want to do form here on out. While Mercedes wants more hip hop, Rachel argues that it’s the glee club, not the crunk club (Mercedes, it turns out, gets her wish granted through most of the episode.) I tend to like the more theatrical numbers they do more, but these guys can make any song sound, well, bangin’.
But, scheming teachers and glee club tension weren’t the only thing plaguing the group. Quinn (who is still acting as Sue’s right hand woman) and Finn cope with their ever-growing pregnancy. The two, who were escorted by Mr. Schuster to their doctor’s appointment, find out they are having a girl (which the ultrasound technician just blurted out to them. Aren’t they supposed to ask if they want to know the sex first?) This spells big trouble for Schuster’s wife, Terri, who has promised him a son.
Quinn’s pregnancy isn’t known by many, so things get hairy when Mc Kinley High’s very own gossip girl, er, boy, Jacob threatens to take the news public on his blog. In fact, he’ll spill the beans about Quinn’s baby and Rachel’s crush on Finn if Rachel doesn’t channel “Sixteen Candles” and give him her underwear! But, Rachel’s already got her plate full when Sue takes it upon herself to split up the glee club into two separate groups, one of which she dubs “Sue’s Kids.”

As you may have noticed, "Vampire Diaries" fans, our beloved evil vampire brother Damon spent most of this episode locked up in the Salvatore family secret basement dungeon room (doesn't every family have one? Or is that only in Mystic Falls and on Wisteria Lane?).
You may also have noticed that due to Damon's incapacitation, last night's episode just wasn't as fun. Without the elder Salvatore's playful banter and approachable-yet-inexplicably menacing demeanor, "Vampire Diaries" just doesn't have that extra spark. Because face it, Crushers, Elena and Stefan are booo-ring with a capital B. Oooh, they love each other, oooh, they're being honest with each other, oooh, Stefan stands up a date but makes up for it with homemade Italian food. I'll take Damon's drama any day: oooh, he's using Caroline for his own gain, oooh, he brainwashes her into wearing scarves, oooh...I don't remember what I'm oohing for because Damon erased my memory. See, that's more like it!
I mean, Damon didn't spend the whole episode without causing a ruckus (he appeared to Caroline in visions so she'd free him from his basement cell), but he was gone long enough for me to despair. As much as I'm on Stefan's side (I'll take good versus evil any day), "VD" just isn't the same with no evil (i.e. Damon) to resist. Plus, the shirtlessness quota was just not up to snuff this week.
