The Secret Sibling revealed! After a short hiatus, "The Secret Circle" returned to the airwaves last night with the show's biggest revelation since the return of John Blackwell. Isaac told Jake there was another Blackwell kicking around in his circle and "Crystal" wrapped up with Cassie Blake breathlessly coming to this realization about one of her friends: "You're my sister." Yep, the episode ended with those three words. And boy, was it powerful!

Throughout most of "Crystal," as the gang went on a quest to gather as many of the magical crystals possessed by their elder relatives as possible, all signs seemed to have pointed toward Faye. She does, after all, act like she's full of darkness. And early in the episode, as she rummaged through her house looking for a crystal with Melissa, she discovered her mother's journal, which dished all about a possible love affair with Cassie's dad back in the day. At one point she even threw herself in front of a speeding motorcycle (more on that later) in an attempt to trigger any latent dark magic within her. But the real Secret Sibling turned out to be somebody who used to fashion herself as the de facto leader of the crew (and keeper of their moral compass) until she spent most of "Crystal" wanting out: Diana!

When I saw last night’s episode title, the loaded phrase "Heart of Darkness," I thought to myself: Self, is this episode going to be Conrad-esque? Novella-esque? Colonizing Africa-esque? And, of course, it was none of the above. The title merely referred to the darkness that exists in all of us, especially Alaric (whose alter-ego, if you remember, hid that white oak stake in an undisclosed location), and maybe Damon, who had an enlightening conversation with Elena about why he doesn’t always want to show people the good in him (because then people expect too much!), and also Stefan, who had to tap into his dark side to reach Alaric’s dark side, and I guess really everyone, because we could just keep discussing every character’s dark side, but I’d really rather get down to business. Or pleasure. I love how writing these is both!

Let’s recap:

Glee"Glee" did the world a favor this week when it decided to use the soundtrack from "Saturday Night Fever" as the source of all this week's songs. The album is a true classic, and it made for one of the most deserved tribute episodes. The 45-minute episode packed in eight songs and nearly as many storylines, so buckle up. It's dancin' time.

The episode, titled "Saturday Night Glee-ver," began with a no-explanation musical number from Blaine, as they all should. It so happens that the theme for nationals this year is "vintage," because the competitive show choir association didn't feel like coming up with anything more creative than that. Will reminisced about the time he went all the way to nationals singing disco, so he decided that's what the New Directions are going to do. I guess no one told Will that disco died in 1979.

I love "Smash," but sometimes it can be a big ol' pile of crazy—especially when it delves away from the musical and into the personal lives of everyone involved. If Ivy and Karen aren’t power-ballad duking it out for the lead in "Bombshell," I just don’t care. Last night was one of those nights. It was a therapy hour, where everyone brought all their problems to set and viewers watched them all horribly play out—with a disappointing lack of musical numbers.

First up was Tom, who had a first date with chorus boy Sam. They decide to blow off dinner and opt to head back to Tom’s place to make out. So far, so good. But just as things were getting hot and heavy, Sam threw a curve ball: He didn’t want to hook up. Like so many dreamy characters before him ("Sex and the City"'s Aidan Shaw came to mind) he didn’t want to rush things. Tom was confused, but later, when he talked it out with Julia, he realized Sam probably had a point: He was 37-ish and perpetually single. Maybe it was time to change something.

There's a classic, second-season episode of "Sex and the City" in which ever-contemplative Carrie Bradshaw couldn't help but wonder what the allure of the twenties was. "The only thing worse than being single and in your thirties in this city is being single and in your twenties," she declared. And from the mouth of Manhattan's most beloved sex columnist comes the only preamble you really need for HBO's new series "Girls"—its younger, dirtier step-cousin.

Would-be writer and perpetual intern, Hannah, wasn't prepared for this: Over dinner, her parents announced they would no longer support her "groovy" lifestyle, which meant no more rent, insurance or cell phone. "All my friends get help from their parents, " Hannah protested. "I'm your only child, it's not like I'm draining your resources." But her parents insisted, and we could already envision Hannah slurping ramen noodles with a look of disdain on her face.

Shake off those cobwebs, "Glee" fans! After seven whole weeks of hiatus, the song and dance machine is back, and things are a little different.

First off, the blessed nuptials of Finn and Rachel did not take place thanks to Quinn's driving-while-texting accident.

Oh, did you forget about Quinn's driving-while-texting accident? Well, Quinn remembered it well, and it gave her a new lease on life. She didn't want the chair to affect her, calling her first day back at school "the happiest of her life." She was so happy, in fact, that she broke out with Elton John's "I'm Still Standing" with Artie. And good news, guys: Quinn said she's determined to be out of the chair by nationals, which looked like it hurt Artie.

You definitely get the feeling that Quinn is trying to convince herself of something. Artie was definitely catching on to that, but Quinn insisted she wasn't like him. Harsh, dude.

Would you believe it? It was another crazy night on "Smash." Eileen got a controversial new investor, Tom lost a boyfriend and Uma Thurman even dropped by—but only for the last 30 seconds of the show. Tease! Ellis was less manipulative than usual—word had gotten out about his lame ways—but other characters totally picked up the slack in the "acting horribly" department.

First up was Karen’s boyfriend, Dev, who throughout the show has been pretty charming and supportive. But things weren’t going his way at work. He didn’t get his politico job, and still hadn’t told Karen, although he was a Chatty Kathy with RJ, his work wife who looked so much like his girlfriend, I spent a few confused moments last night assuming they were one in the same. While Dev dealt with his bad news, Karen got some great news: Actress Rebecca Duvall was tied up in Cuba and wouldn’t be at their rehearsals for the next week. Derek asked Karen to be the understudy, meaning she was Marilyn, albeit briefly.

Oh, man—it went down on "Smash" last night. Julia’s husband, Frank, found out about her affair(s) with Michael, Ellis showed how far he would go for a little power, and Ivy had a pill-and-alcohol fueled breakdown...and turned a new page with Karen. All that, and Tom found out he was dating a Republican! Major revelations all around on the aptly titled episode, "Hell on Wheels." Let’s break it down:

Some families have a skeleton or two in the closet. Cassie Blake's father has one buried in an old playground; literally.

Here are some of the things we learned during "Curse," this week's episode of "The Secret Circle": John Blackwell tried to summon some demons 16 years ago, some demons who wanted to possess the bodies of the old circle of parents (he says his plan was to use the demons to protect them from the witch hunters, but then the demons wanted to do the whole body-snatching thing instead); Eben is an even nastier villain than we'd have imagined; Blackwell has a skeleton stashed away. Whose skeleton is it? We don't know and we'll have to wait until at least next week to find out.

Last night was all about temptation: Good girl Karen was tempted to go bad with Derek, Dev was tempted by the seedy underbelly of politics, and Ellis was tempted by his longing to be a producer and his diminishing affection for Tom. Everyone was on edge after the lackluster workshop last week. No one knew what the next step was going to be, and Ivy especially was concerned her head was on the chopping block.

Ivy may not know her fate, but Julia broke the news to Michael early on that he would no longer be part of the Marilyn team (Subtext: Also no longer part of her life.) He took the news well, saying that if he wasn’t fired he would have quit. Perhaps they’ll be able to put their affair behind them with no one else the wiser? Doubtful, but it’s working for the moment. Other family drama included Eileen’s daughter, Katie, showing up, concerned about how her mother was handling her father’s increasingly spiteful money issues regarding their impending divorce.
