JigsawBy Nicole Guanlao

First CNN and Ashton Kutcher had one, and now it looks like “Twilight” star Peter Facinelli and friend Rob DeFranco are getting in on the action. These two pals are engaging in an old-fashioned battle of the "brawn": a Twitter-off, if you will.

Peter, who plays super-hot vampire “dad” Carlisle Cullen, has been challenged by his buddy to gain 500,000 Twitter followers by the end of the day this Friday. Rob even dedicated a webpage to the contest!

The stakes? Oh, they're pretty high. Read More...

Ian SomerhalderBy Sabrina Rojas Weiss

You know that empty, depressed feeling you get when you finish a really good book? Sometimes, it's almost as if your best friend moved to another town on the same day your boyfriend dumped you. Other times, it's just the dull ache of hunger for the next new thing. Of course, some die-hard Twilighters solve this problem by rereading the entire series for the 100th time. But I'm here to tell you that Edward Cullen does not have to be your only brand of literary heroin.

That's why we're launching the Book Report here on Hollywood Crush, dedicated to the many, many young adult novels that are equally worthy of our obsession. And it's not just me and the publishers who think so; many of these are about to be made into movies and TV shows too. As much as we love crushing on Nate Archibald and Jacob Black, our screens have room for a few more dashing heroes and adorable boys next door (and the hot young stars portraying them). And as much as we identify with Bella, Hermoine and Norah, there's no reason we don't want to add to our group of fictional friends. Read More...

Jackson RathboneBy Kara Warner

Watch out Robert Pattinson — there’s another musical talent in the “Twilight” family. Jackson Rathbone—a.k.a vampire Jasper Cullen — is making a name for himself on the music scene with his band 100 Monkeys, and there’s a chance they might make an appearance on the “New Moon” soundtrack.

“We’d love it,” Rathbone told MTV News. “[But] we’re not really pushing for it,” he said. “It’s one of those things where if they want to put our song on the album, I’m not going to complain.” The 24-year-old describes his band’s sound as “old school rock and roll,” that is heavily influenced by blues and funk. “It’s not whiney music,” he added.

After the jump, the actor talks about his now-famous scene in the "New Moon" trailer and working with director Chris Weitz. Read More...

Joan Jett and Kristen StewartFROM MTV.COM: Not only has Kristen Stewart embraced the role of Joan Jett by dying her hair black and cutting it into a mullet for her role in the upcoming film "The Runaways," now she's been spotted at a Los Angeles studio with Runaways founding member Joan Jett.

The duo — along with Stewart's "New Moon"/ "Runaways" castmate Dakota Fanning — hit Sunset Sound studios on Monday, where they were recording for the biopic, about the seminal all-teen-female 1970s rock band of the same name. While the Runaways, founded by Jett in 1975, never achieved large-scale commercial success, they were a galvanizing force on the Los Angeles punk scene, not to mention the first widely recognized all-female teen rock group and the spawning ground for the subsequent solo careers of Jett and guitarist Lita Ford.

I'm all about team Edward, but last night at the CFDA Awards, I have to put it out there: Taylor Lautner looked super-hot! The "Twilight" star chose a very clean, traditional look in his Calvin Klein navy blue suit and matching tie.

Lautner is usually seen in casual attire on red carpets, but the CFDA Awards are akin to the Oscars in the fashion industry, so the need to step it up is pretty obvious. The werewolf cleans up very nicely! (More on the awards after the jump, plus check out our entire CFDA Awards photo gallery.) Read More...

Megan FoxFROM MTV.COM:Perhaps being back on the singles scene has made "Transformers" star Megan Fox reconsider her feelings about "Twilight" heartthrob Robert Pattinson. There was a time when Fox said she wouldn't consider dating Pattinson, or Zac Efron for that matter, because in her opinion they are too young and too pretty.

"I mean, he's outrageously attractive, he's like a very pretty man," she told MTV UK when asked about the rumors that she and Pattinson were at one time romantically involved. "I've never been in a room with him, though, so those rumors aren't true. ... Although, you know every other girl on the planet wishes that it was, but I didn't have the opportunity so."

Slumdog and TwilightBy Haley Murphy

The nominees for the 2009 Teen Choice Awards have been announced, and not surprisingly, “Twilight” dominated across the board. We're starting to experience déjà vu from the awards season this past spring where “Slumdog Millionaire” swept the circuit by winning four Golden Globes, seven BAFTAs and eight out of 10 of its Oscars nominations, including Best Picture. Now, the little-movie-that-could is up against the vampire drama for six — count 'em six! — Teen Choice Awards. ("Twilight" was nominated, however, for a total of 11 trophies.)

Both movies are up for Choice Movie Drama, and Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are up against Freida Pinto and Dev Patel for Choice Movie Actress and Actor, Fresh Face Female and Male, and most importantly (!), Choice Movie Liplock. Although “Slumdog” should still be recognized for its supercharged and breathtaking narrative, I have to wonder if the super-popular fan-favorite “Twilight” will trump its competitors in every category (you know, just like "Slumdog" had previously done). If the triumph of "Twilight" at the MTV Awards is any sort of tell-tale sign for the Teen Choice Awards, then I'm thinking, yes!

What do you think: Does anyone who goes up against "Twilight" actually stand a chance of winning a Teen Choice award? Or will "Slumdog" still be top dog?

TwilightFROM MTV.COM: After dominating the MTV Movie Awards last month with wins in categories like Best Movie, Best Kiss and Best Fight, "Twilight" is poised to rule another awards show later this summer. Fox's 2009 Teen Choice Awards nominations were announced on Monday (June 15), and the vampire flick scored 12 total, including nods for Drama, Romance and Actor and Actress in a Drama. The show airs on Monday, August 10.

Following closely behind "Twilight" with 10 nominations each were "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," "Gossip Girl" and Miley Cyrus. The Jonas Brothers, who are set to host the show on August 10, notched nine nominations in categories such as Love Song and Breakout Show.

Cam GigandetFROM SPLASH PAGE: Last week, reports surfaced that “Twilight” star Cam Gigandet would be playing a vampire on screen again in a live-action adaptation of “Priest,” a popular manga series published by TokyoPop.

But hold the phone, “Twilight” fans, it appears that tales of his blood-sucking role have been greatly exaggerated. During a press event for his upcoming film “The Roommate,” the actor said there’s been a slight misunderstanding when it comes to his “Priest” character.

Robert PattinsonEat your heart out, Vancouver. Robert Pattinson may have needed a little encouragement from the crew of the first "Twilight" flick to flash his pearly whites as brooding vamp Edward Cullen, but the hunky 23-year-old was all smiles on the New York set of "Remember Me."

In the 2010 drama, Pattinson plays Tyler Roth, a young man whose life is turned upside down after the death of his brother. (Hmm, that makes us wonder what has him grinning then. Must be the Manhattan air.) The film teams the actor up with "Lost" star Emilie de Ravin, his love interest who also has her own turbulent past, and former 007 Pierce Brosnan, who plays Pattinson's pops. After the jump, check out the full pic of RPattz in all its toothy glory. Read More...
