After cutting his teeth on movies like "The Golden Compass" and "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," Chris Weitz knows a thing or two about what makes your little YA-literature-loving hearts go pitter-pat—which is why it is really really extra-super-strength exciting that the director is about to bring his magic Twi-touch to a brand new, wholly original series of post-apocalyptic novels just for you. YOU! Personally!

According to the announcement from publisher Little, Brown, the literary trilogy-to-be will kick off with "The Young World": a story about the teenage sole survivors who inherit a destroyed and desolate earth, after a cataclysmic event kills off every person on earth not between the ages of 12 and 21. Ill-equipped to restore society to working order, the surviving residents of New York City must try to rebuild their world from the ground up—a tough charge for any decimated population, but especially difficult if you're trying to save your species from annihilation while simultaneously going through puberty. Drama will abound!

Zooey DeschanelIf you're a subscriber to Marie Claire, you may want to start keeping your hipster boyfriend away from the mailbox until the next issue arrives—because the upcoming cover girl is none other than indie megacrush object Zooey Deschanel. (And if you don't do that? Well, don't say we didn't warn you when the mag goes missing and then turns up weeks later covered in man drool.) Zooey is gazing out from beneath her trademark blunt bangs on the front of the May issue, and inside, she's got a few things to say about her current career, her past life as a fat kid and her inescapable reputation as a sexy weirdo.

The bad news: If you're looking for some insights into how Zooey became the poster girl for all things adorably quirky, she's as mystified by it as anyone else.

With "The Hunger Games" going on its third week as the No. 1 movie in the country, it was only a matter of time before the send-ups started—and this weekend, the "Saturday Night Live" team offered up their own delightfully original take on the dystopian drama. And if you didn't think it was possible to wring any humor out of such a dark and destructive story...well, you must not have seen host Sofia Vergara dressed up as a pink-haired Capitol newsperson and shouting, "FUN-GER GAAAAAMES!!!" because it's actually kind of hilarious.

Also, Bill Hader makes an excellent Caesar Flickerman.

Big Time RushLet's be honest, we all have a Hollywood Crush—a cutie whose sheer existence inspires countless fever dreams and inestimable hours of Google Image gawking. For a lucky few, those fantasies become reality when faced with said star...in real life. Welcome to our new weekly feature, How I Met My Hollywood Crush, in which readers recall the time they rubbed elbows with their special celebrity someone!

Former Nickelodeon intern Marianne Peralta tells us what happened when she had a surprise opportunity to hang out with this band of cuties in person. Do you have a story to share? Send it to mtvhollywoodcrush(at)gmail.com, and it could appear here!

I had heard about Big Time Rush from a few of my friends who were fans. They invited me on several occasions to go see them live, but I was either working or busy. Last semester I had the opportunity to intern with Nickelodeon and was introduced to Big Time Rush more formally. I immediately fell in love and became a huge fan. I had seen one episode at Nickelodeon, then went home that weekend and caught up on season one and the beginning of season two.

While we were hesitant to embrace One Direction at first, as soon as we heard their song "What Makes You Beautiful" on the radio, we couldn't help rocking to the beat. And we haven't been the only ones to take notice.

The British pop sensation performed on Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards and now they're scheduled to appear on "iCarly" and NBC's "Saturday Night Live" this weekend. Frontman Harry Styles took to Twitter today to remind fans of the boys' television appearances. Do you think they'll end up in a skit? Liam Payne says maybe!

Before she played the eccentric Clementine in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" or journalist Iris Simpkins in one of our fave chick flicks "The Holiday," Kate Winslet was the sensitive yet spunky Rose DeWitt Bukater in James Cameron's "Titanic." With the re-release of "Titanic" in 3-D this week, Kate returns as the first-class socialite smothered by her mother and trapped in a boring life of dinner parties and tight corsets. Let's take a look back at her career before and after the revolutionary film.

Born in Reading, England, on October 5, 1975, Kate grew up in a household of thespians. Her parents were stage actors, her grandparents founded the Reading Repertory Theatre, and her uncle was in the original production of "Oliver!" in London's West End. Destined for a career in the same industry, she began studying drama at the Redroof's Theatre school at the young age of 11. When she was 12, she landed her first role in a commercial for Sugar Puffs cereal and according to the director, her talent was "there from the start."

If you were able to tear your eyes away from "Crazy, Stupid, Love"'s Abs That Shall Not Be Named, you may have recognized a familiar reality T.V. face among the film's leads Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell and Julianne Moore. Namely, "America's Next Top Model" cycle 11 contestant Analeigh Tipton, who played a lovesick babysitter in the romantic comedy. Analeigh isn't the first Top Model to make the jump to acting (remember CariDee English's cameo on "One Tree Hill"?), but she may be the strutter with the most star potential. The beauty is back in theaters this weekend with "Damsels in Distress," about three college girls who set out to change the mores at their college.

Analeigh's growing fame is no surprise to "ANTM" creator and judge Tyra Banks, who noticed the model's acting chops years ago.

"She was third runner-up, I think. When the judges said it was time for her to go home, I told her she had an acting gift," Tyra told MTV News last year.

Get out your neon scrunchies, oversize flannel and stonewashed jeans, 'cause we're headed back to the '90s with this week's movie releases. "Titanic" hits the big screen again—this time in 3-D—while the "American Pie" franchise comes full circle with "American Reunion." And while "American Reunion" is technically brand new, "Titanic" is the same movie we've always loved.

The re-release brings back one of our favorite on-screen romances between Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) and Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio). You know the story: First-class Rose has an overbearing mother who wants her to marry the tall, dark and handsome Cal Hockley (Billy Zane) for his money. Jack is a starving artist who wins two tickets on a ship back to America. The two meet when Rose looks to jump off the ship in an attempt to escape from her life, and Jack talks her back over the railing. The rest, as they say, is history—albeit, a tragic one. What you may not know are these five "Titanic" facts we dredged up in a deep dive of the internet.

It's springtime for fashion in Hollywood, and some of our favorite stars were looking on the bright side this week—in bold, bright yellow frocks that put a sunshiney spin on nighttime glamour. And today, two of these buttercup-colored looks were in contention for Style Superstardom! Which golden girl's casual cocktail chic won the honors? And whose lemony look could have used just a little more more-ness? Check it!

Emily Blunt is always a shoo-in for best-dressed with her effortlessly sophisticated style sense, and her look at the Elie Saab private dinner this week was no exception. Her yellow belted dress was a perfect fit, beautifully tailored, with a wide neckline that showed off just the right amount of skin. And while many gals would have been tempted to clutter this streamlined style with jewelry, Emily took a creative approach: accessorizing with pops of bold, bright red on her lips, fingers and toes. The result? A super-sleek look that makes this daytime color an evening standout.
