Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

Dakota Fanning just graduated high school. Go ahead, read that sentence again, it won't feel any less wrong. We know, it seems like just yesterday she was being all kinds of spunky and precocious in "Uptown Girls" and wowing us as the kid-who-holds-her-own against the likes of Denzel Washington and Robert De Niro. Quick: YouTube clips from "Eclipse" and "The Runaways" if you need a reminder that Dakota is indeed all grown up.

And kudos, Dakota, for doing it all while maintaining a pretty normal teenage life. Dakota was a cheerleader and homecoming queen at her school. That's some pretty stellar time management when her other extra-curriculars included "portraying a member of the badass Volturi clan" and "appearing on red carpets." If she had been part of the "Harry Potter" cast instead of "Twilight," we'd suspect time turner usage. Heck, we kind of do now.

The lovely and talented Dakota Fanning turns 17 today, and here at Hollywood Crush, that means just one thing: reading her Wikipedia page, stuffing our faces with Twinkies and feeling really, reeeeeeally insecure about what we've accomplished in life.

Oh, and also, a celebratory look at what's next for the poised and prolific actress who's pretty positioned to become the next Meryl Streep. (Okay, yeah, let's do that first; the self-hatred and sobbing can happen later.)

Dakota has already proved her chops as a versatile powerhouse of an artist—in 2010 alone, she wowed us as an iconic rockstar in "The Runaways" and a member of "The Twilight Saga's reigning vampire royalty. But while most girls in her position would take a well-deserved birthday break to relax, recharge and bask in the warm glow of raging success, this one isn't slowing down; in fact, she's booked for three major roles in the coming year.

Judd Nelson knows a thing or two about teen actors. As a Brat Packer and one of the five leads in John Hughes' seminal high school flick "The Breakfast Club," Judd's worked with his fair share of young stars, but it's one of Hollywood's current teen stars that Judd couldn't say enough nice things about when we caught up with him at the Sundance Film Festival where he was promoting Canon's "The Story Beyond the Still," which he co-directed.

"I certainly think that Dakota Fanning may be the best actor ever, on the planet, throughout history," Judd said. "I don't know, either she's a pituitary mutant, or maybe she's an alien."

The nominations for the 2011 Oscars weren't just the talk of Tinseltown today, but the Twitterverse as well! Hollywood hopped on their pages to post about which movies, actors, actresses, writers and directors they were happy to see get some love from the Academy. Naturally, there was just as much chatter about who should have been nominated, especially for "Inception" director Christopher Nolan who was inexplicably snubbed for his mind-bender. An outraged Felicia Day pondered, "Chris Nolan didn't get a director nomination?!! ARE YOU KIDDING?!" while Alyssa Milano mused about the director of the Best Picture nominee (a scene with stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, pictured) "Regarding Chris Nolan - I'm not sure how you can acknowledge the screenplay and film and not the director." However, Jaime King was a little less gentle with her wording, "Where the f*ck is Christopher Nolan's Oscar nom?!"

While some celebs couldn't wake from the "Inception" nightmare, others were simply elated for Hailee Steinfeld's dream come true. The breakout star will compete in the Best Supporting Actress category for her stellar performance in "True Grit," much to the delight of fellow famous youngster Justin Bieber. After hearing the awesome news, the singer wrote, "met at the Globes and she is super talented. CONGRATS to Hailee Steinfeld for being 14 and getting nominated for an OSCAR for TRUE GRIT!"

Check out the rest of Tuesday's best celebrity tweets, including Jamie Campbell Bower's hilarious revelation about himself...and Dakota Fanning! Follow us @hollywoodcrush to get even more celebrity and pop culture news around the clock!

While Dakota Fanning has become a part of the beloved "Twilight Saga" family, her little sister Elle Fanning has attracted some attention online as a rumored possibility to play one of the major roles in the highly anticipated big screen adaptation of "The Hunger Games."

MTV News caught up with Elle on the red carpet at the 16th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards on Friday night to talk about the buzz surrounding her playing "Hunger Games" heroine Katniss, or fittingly, her little sis Prim.

However, Elle (who was nominated for Best Young Actor/Actress award at the CCMAs, but ultimately lost to "True Grit" star Hailee Steinfeld, another actress speculated to take on the coveted role of Katniss) has one small hurdle in her way.

It's because we said we are almost more excited for "Water for Elephants" than we are for "Breaking Dawn," isn't it? Or maybe these awesome new set photos are an early Christmas present from Summit Entertainment? To be perfectly honest, it doesn't matter what the reason, we're just thrilled to get our first glimpse of the Volturi on the set of "Breaking Dawn"!

Dakota Fanning is getting some final touch ups on her make-up in this first photo, while Christopher Heyerdahl shows off his luscious locks and Jamie Campbell Bower looks on approvingly from the sidelines. In the second photo (after the jump), Michael Sheen looks a bit nervous as he reprises his role as Volturi head honcho. Maybe it's because he knew we missed him so much in "Eclipse"? Regardless, it's good to see the fam back together!

Color us disappointed: Dakota Fanning will not be starring in the big screen adaptation of Gayle Foreman's YA novel "If I Stay." Reports surfaced back in October that Dakota was in talks to play 17-year-old cellist Mia—a role we thought would be a good stepping stone for the maturing actress. But according to the L.A. Times' 24 Frames, Dakota has turned down the role in favor of finishing her senior year of high school.

Though we're bummed Dakota won't be tackling this role, we do have to give her kudos for putting academics before acting. That being said, "If I Stay" is still without a leading lady. But don't fear, Hollywood Crush has a few recommendations for who should play the caught-between-life-and-death protagonist. Check out our picks after the jump and weigh in with your own suggestions!

Dakota FanningSummit must be real sweet on Dakota Fanning. After appearing in two of the studio's properties—"Push" and a little franchise called "The Twilight Saga"—the actress is mulling over a role in the studio's upcoming "If I Stay," an adaptation of Gayle Forman's popular YA novel, Variety reports.

"If I Stay" tells the story of 17-year-old Mia, a gifted cellist with dreams of Julliard, who must choose between pursuing her future in New York City or staying in Oregon with her rock band boyfriend. But after a fatal car crash, Mia faces the ultimate decision: life or death.

"Twilight" helmer Catherine Hardwicke was originally attached to the project but dropped out in favor of "Red Riding Hood." Brazilian Heitor Dhalia is taking over directing duties.

Are you looking for the newest way to get pretty, pretty fingernails? Why not throw a little Bieber on 'em!

No, really: Justin Bieber, no longer content to just be the soundtrack to your mani-pedi, is collaborating with Nicole by OPI to create a distinctly bieb-ified line of nail polishes, reports Stylelist. The mostly grape-y and glittery colors are all named after various songs by (you guessed it) Justin Bieber, including "One Less Lonely Glitter" and "Me + Blue." There's also one shocking red called "OMB!"

OMB, indeed.

The nail polish line is a new twist on celeb-endorsed beauty products—after all, most of them just concoct a perfume and call it a day. But now that the door's open for nail care products (made by dude pop stars, no less), we'd love to see a few more creative entries into the world of manicures and musical tie-ins! For instance...

With "Undercovers" premiering this Wednesday on NBC and a million other T.V. projects on his docket, it might be tempting to forget that J.J. Abrams is quite the force to be reckoned with on the big screen too (remember a little film called "Star Trek"?). But we haven't forgotten thanks, in part, to that sneaky little teaser trailer he released over the summer for his upcoming Stephen Spielberg collaboration, "Super 8."

Though there's more information out about what we don't know about the project than what we do, New York magazine's Vulture blog got the exclusive over the weekend that Elle Fanning (Dakota's younger sister) and "Friday Night Lights'" Kyle Chandler have landed roles in the flick.
