Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
We have quite a while till "True Blood" returns with more deliciousness, but that doesn't mean we've forgotten about our favorite cunning (yet sexy!) vampire, Eric (a.k.a. Alexander Skarsgard). Last night, the actor attended GQ's 14th Annual Men of the Year Party (Chris Pine, Bradley Cooper and Obama were among the men honored on the cover of the mag's newest issue) at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. We appreciate his layered, casual look and how smooth and clean-shaven his face was, but that's not why he was worthy of a post — check out who is in the picture on the right with him!
Yes, that's Kate Bosworth standing right in front of Alex. Yes, they are standing awfully close. And no, we have no idea what he's staring at either. What we do know is that back in October, when Alex picked up a trophy at the Scream Awards for Best Villain, he may have picked up something else as well — a new girlfriend. We, too, noticed then that he and Kate, who presented him with the award, were being a tad flirty. Now, it seems (much to our dismay) that the Swede could very well be dating the California girl! What do you guys think?
Check out who else MTV Spotted!, including Taylor Swift in London, Ashley Greene at the MoMA, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen at a Tim Burton event and more!
Sookie Stackhouse's telepathic abilities sure would come in handy to discern the fate of Bon Temps' residents in the third season of "True Blood." Unfortunately for us, mind reading isn't our forte, but we've got the next best thing. The people who pen the titillating series (creator Alan Ball, Elizabeth Finch, Kate Barnow, Brian Buckner, Nancy Oliver, Alexander Woo and Raelle Tucker) converged last night at a Paley Media Center panel in Beverly Hills and gladly spilled more than a few spoilers. We've combed through the scene reports to bring you the three juiciest, sexiest and tantalizing morsels, which we share below. (For more news from the event, check out "True Blood"'s official Twitter feed (@TrueBloodHBO) or True-Blood.net).
1. Alexander Skarsgård sans clothes
From the mouth of he who brings glorious visions to thine eyes (a.k.a Alan Ball): "Alexander Skarsgård appears without most of his clothes in the very first episode of season 3." There's really no further explanation needed here, right? I mean, whether it's strip Yahtzee or a half-naked highlight touch-up, I'm all eyes.

There was no easing into last night's macabre festivities at Spike TV's Scream 2009 award show. Nope, my eyes were covered mere seconds into the telecast as a pair of creepy blonde twins ascended above the stage. Instead of engaging in a rousing game of hopscotch or Miss Mary Mack, the devilish duo put on a bone-chilling display of "Mindfreak" proportions, as one drew a knife to her throat apparently slashing it, while blood gushed instead from the artery of her sister. Shudder! Squeal! Hide! And that was just the beginning. There was an award for Most Memorable Mutilation Scene. Seriously.
Between disembowlments and decapitations, the sci-fi/fantasy/horror ceremony managed to hand out several spike statues, with the HBO series "True Blood" sucking up the most wins. The vampire brethren of "Twilight" along with "Star Trek" and "Transformers" also scored several awards. In addition to the many stars on hand, the audience was packed with vampire/zombie/ghost-clad audience members who looked as bloodthirsty as Count Dracula. I have a feeling some of their desires were quenched with the slew of World Premiere footage aired throughout the night from highly anticipated films like "New Moon," "Alice in Wonderland," and "Shutter Island," as well as a never-before-seen clip from "Star Trek."
As I continue to try to bleach my brain of last night's horrors, let's turn our attention to some of the best moments from the Spike ceremony.

We hate to say it, but we told you so. When we heard "True Blood" vampire Eric (the dreamy Alexander Skarsgård) had been nominated as Best Villain for Spike's 2009 Scream Awards, we gave him the edge over fellow vamp, "Twilight" tracker James (Cam Gigandet). Well, Alex not only bested Cam but beat out Eric Bana, Helena Bonham Carter, Lorna Raver and Liev Schreiber to take home the prize at last night's awards ceremony, which airs Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 10 p.m. on Spike TV.
Alex received his black spike trophy (how fitting) from "Straw Dogs" costar Kate Bosworth, giving the leggy blond a squeeze and a kiss on the cheek in front of the packed auditorium (more on that, including pics, after the jump). When the actor turned to speak into the mic, however, it was still positioned at Kate's height, leaving the tall Swede to squat in an oh-so silly manner to address the audience. A good sense of humor: one more reason we love this guy!

The Five Likeliest Candidates Responsible For 'True Blood's Shocking Cliffhanger!
Have you seen the second season finale of "True Blood" yet? If so, read on! If not, be warned -- there are plenty of spoilers ahead, so proceed at your own risk!
We still have several questions about the "True Blood" finale, but the biggest one by far involves Sookie Stackhouse's (Anna Paquin) main squeeze, Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). The century-old vampire effectively became this season's Lafayette by the end of the finale -- or, in other words, the main focus of our "True Blood" withdrawal between seasons two and three. It's probably too early to be going through "True Blood" withdrawals already (the second season finale was just two days ago), but that doesn't mean we don't miss Sookie, Bill and (most of all) Eric, just the same as they begin their long winter's nap. But at least we've been left with a few mementos to remember them by, namely, two new Alan Ball (he's pictured with Anna and Stephen) interviews (one with EW.com and the other with Televisionary) that give us a taste of what's to come in season 3. And there are some tasty morsels here for sure, including a lot more of Eric (yay!), werewolves and a potential love interest for Lafayette.
All you bloodthirsty Eric fans (or let's be real, Alexander Skarsgård fans) out there will be pleased to know that creator Alan Ball promises Eric will be a prominent character in the upcoming season. Though Alan did add that he's been trying to ignore all the Team Eric fan fervor so as not to influence story lines. "I try not to get involved in that because it just sort of — it’s too confusing. I don’t want it to influence what the show is. Personally, I’m like, yes, Eric’s hot, but beyond that he’s dangerous, and I don’t know if he’d love anybody besides himself. What’s the appeal there? The bad boy? The danger?"

Vampires, shape-shifters, maenads — oh my! The second season of "True Blood" comes to an end on Sunday and we're certainly on the edges of our seats about how it'll all turn out. Of course, we'll be watching our taped version of the finale after the hotly anticipated VMAs are over, which you're all doing as well ... right?!
If you haven't been following "True Blood" this season, don't worry, we've got you covered. From Dallas to Bon Temps, here's absolutely everything you need to know about season two of "True Blood" before the big finale. WARNING: MANY MANY BLOODY SPOILERS AHEAD! Read more...
Over the course of the second season of "True Blood", the 1,000 year-old vampire sheriff Eric Northman solidified himself as one of the series' most compelling characters — not to mention the most crush-worthy by many of the show's viewers. Despite this, Eric has remained emotionally guarded despite his own obvious interest in Sookie Stackhouse ... but luckily for his fans, the actor behind the vampire isn't quite as squeamish when it comes to romance.
Alexander Skarsgård, who plays Eric on the HBO vampire drama series, recently participated in Santa Monica-based radio station KCRW's "Guest DJ Project," in which various cultural icons select and dedicate songs on the air. During his guest stint, Alex dedicated the Buzzcocks' "Ever Fallen in Love" to a past girlfriend — a relationship that, by the sound of it, has all the fiery passion you'd expect from the actor's on-screen persona. Details about this Sunday's second season finale of HBO's hit "True Blood" seem to be sealed away tighter than a vampire's cramped coffin. Jim Parrack, who plays Hoyt, wouldn't give us any scoop when we talked to him earlier this week, and the episode summary couldn't be more vague:In the second-season finale, chaos still reigns in Bon Temps as Maryann drafts Sookie to play an important role in her grand ceremony of sacrifice. Meanwhile, Sophie-Ann has strict instructions for Eric about Bill; Hoyt is tested by his mother's behavior; and Sam's next move is a matter of life or death.
But you know what they say about pictures and a thousand words. HBO has ever-so-mercifully tempered our anxiety by releasing a few still shots from the highly anticipated finale. In the one above, it looks as though "Sookie Stackhouse" series author Charlaine Harris will be making a cameo, bellying up to Sam (Sam Trammell) at the bar at Merlotte's. How she'll have time to down a brewski and nosh on some beer nuts while Bon Temps is in the grips of the apocalypse is beyond me, so perhaps this photo is telling us that all that Maryann business will be resolved rather quickly.
