Everyone's buzzing this morning with the news that the new adaptation of "Les Miserables," that classic libertine story of love, loss and loaves of stolen bread, has just gotten a whole lot crushier: Amanda Seyfried and Taylor Swift have reportedly been offered roles as, respectively, the ingenue Cosette and the tragic heroine Eponine. But if that means a whole lot of nothing to you, don't worry! We've got a handy guide to just what this "Les Miz" thing is all about, with this summary of the four most important things you need to know about the film. So grab a pen, pay attention and get ready for...

Romance!
Prepare yourself for some good old-fashioned wooing, as Marius (Eddie Redmayne) falls for the beautiful Cosette amid the tumult of the June Rebellion. And prepare yourself also for some good old-fashioned heartbreak; when there's only one beautiful boy to go around, someone's going to end up at the wrong end of the love triangle. In the rain. Riddled with bullets.

We love the Christmas spirit as much as the next blog, but let's be real: By the time January 2 rolls around, we're all ready to un-deck the halls, de-jingle the bells and settle in for a nice, mid-winter movie about killing and death. And if you need a film to look forward to, we've got just the one—AND an exclusive look at the poster! So put down your eggnog and feast your eyes on "Gone," a February thriller starring Amanda Seyfried.

The story: Jill Parrish (Amanda) comes home from work to find her sister missing—presumably abducted by the same kidnapper from whom Jill narrowly escaped the previous year. But with time running out and nobody willing to believe her, Jill has to take matters into her own hands and embarks on a breakneck pursuit to save her sister's life. The film co-stars Daniel Sunjata, Jennifer Carpenter, Sebastian Stan and Wes Bentley.

If most pop-culture portrayals are to be believed, wardrobes of the future will consist of abstract amalgamations of Jane Jetson and Lady Gaga's abandoned articles. (Seriously, EVERYONE in 2130 will be wearing bubble suits. Promise.) However, for the futuristic thriller, "In Time," Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood took a pleasantly restrained approach to dressing the gaggle of perpetual 25-year-olds portrayed in the film, headlined by Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried.

"To me, when you look at really great imagery in fashion from all times, there's something—you can still look at stuff from the '30s and it looks incredibly modern. The design elements sort of have that feeling," Colleen explained. "With this, we were sort of going with that attitude—a sort of more minimal approach to it as opposed to getting a lot of bells and whistles for the future. My idea was that the near future there's always an element of classicism in design, and I sort of went with classic lines and sort of more futuristic surfaces."

Imagine being 25 years old forever. Doesn’t that sound glorious? But what exactly would you do with all that time? If you're Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried, you run from a corrupt police force.

MTV recently caught up with the lovely Amanda at the junket for her upcoming thriller "In Time," and while chatting it up, the 26-year-old revealed the real-life hazards of running in heels, how her co-star saved her life and the tasty treat that kept her energized.

“Stunt heels are like three inches shorter usually, usually half the size, half the height of regular designer Yves Saint Laurent heels," she explained. "They were great shoes in the movie. It’s tough. At first I took a big spill, which if it weren’t for Justin it might have killed me."

From the runways to the red carpet, patterns are seriously in play this year. Lately, we're seeing more actresses eschewing clean whites and basic blacks for outfits that incorporate a lot of bold, bright colors and complex prints—and this week, fab patterned frocks were the look of choice for many a young Hollywood fashionista. Whose Rorschach test of a dress made us mental for her savvy style? And whose busy head-to-toe look went awry just past the ankles? Check it!

Considering the cast, it's no surprise that this week's Style Superstar turned up at the premiere for "In Time;" with so many stylish people in one place, we were bound to find a winner. And check out Amanda Seyfried, who looks like a star—literally!—in this Prabal Gurung dress, which features a plunging deep-V back and nebulous purple print that looks like something photographed by the Hubble space telescope. This is a bold choice of frock for any actress; a fabric like this can sometimes make it look less like you're wearing the dress, and more like the dress is wearing you. But Amanda is more than fierce enough to pull it off, finishing off her look perfectly with smokey eye makeup, simple black platform heels and a similarly uncomplicated black bracelet. Plus, those pleather accents at the waist and collar are a nice nod to the sci-fi/futuristic role she's playing (because, as we all know, fashion in the distant future consists exclusively of black latex catsuits.)

Justin Timberlake might be coming into the prime of his acting career this year with two leading roles in some pretty big films, but that doesn't make it any less weird that the former 'N Sync frontman is now 30.

Let's face it, that's basically like retirement age in young Hollywood years, though JT is just as sexy as ever. MTV News found out that his age is a bit of a sensitive subject when we caught up with the "Friends With Benefits" star at Comic-Con to talk about his upcoming action flick "In Time."

"I'd rather not talk about that," Justin deadpanned when we asked him about hitting the big 3-0 earlier this year.

Ahhhh, Comic-Con! It's a place for movie gossip, a place for celebrity sightings and, of course, a place for seeing full-grown adults dressed up in spandex superhero suits without so much as a hint of embarrassment. But, above all, it is a place for GEEKS. Which is why, when MTV News' Josh Horowitz got a few good famous people to sit down with him for our latest After Hours, we put them to the test with a little Game of Geekery. Which "Twilight" star knows his Tolkien Trivia? Which sultry starlets are secret nerds? Can't anyone do a decent impression of Yoda anymore?! Find out, in...."GEEKS! OR! POSERS!"

Things get off to a sad start when Josh asks his assembled guests to begin by naming Elijah Wood's character in "Lord of the Rings." Amanda Seyfried stutters, "It's, uh... y'know. That guy?" before giving up. And Elizabeth Reaser and Nikki Reed look like a pair of deer in the headlights as they each look to each other for help. Bzzzzt! Posers! Deer-lookin' posers!!!

In case you just didn't get enough of Taylor Lautner during our "Breaking Dawn" livestream earlier today at San Diego Comic-Con, I'm here to say you're in for a twofer. That's right! The abilicious star is returning for our Friday livestream to chat about his other upcoming release, "Abduction," out in September. And that's not all. Tomorrow's "MTV News: Comic-Con Takeover" will include futuristic foxes Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried talking about all things "In Time."

We'll be honest, we're kind of worried about the building spontaneously combusting from all that hotness. Especially since Channing Tatum will also stop by to dish on his action flick "Haywire." Woo, doggy!

Missed "Red Riding Hood" in the theaters? No problem. Catherine Hardwicke's take on the fairy tale classic hits DVD today, and the director herself told Hollywood Crush that there are a lot of new surprises.

"I think it's pretty fun. We had fun in the editing room making some neat little clips and music videos and a gag reel and definitely want people to see it," she explained. "And the new ending."

No spoilers here, but Catherine said that if fans like the original ending then they will love the new one. "We liked them both. We thought either of them could be really fun," she said. "I liked them both and you get a choice this way. You can choose which way you want to go. This one's a little more sexier too. It's not completely new, but it has twist; It’s a little bit sexier, wilder."
