It's surprising back injuries among mail carriers didn't spike during the summer of 2007 when the weighty September issue of Vogue began hitting mail boxes. At nearly five pounds, the fashion bible still holds the record for the largest single issue of a magazine ever published. Filmmaker R.J. Cutler went behind the scenes of the iconic issue, gaining unprecedented access to legendary editor Anna Wintour in his documentary "September Issue." The film's star along with cover girl Sienna Miller, actress Renee Zellweger, designer Zac Posen and more walked the red carpet last night for the film's New York premiere.

Weather-appropriate resort wear (It has been in the 90s in NYC, after all!) was on the itinerary for the women, with some hitting the perfect breezy note while others looked, well, like they'd been caught in a summer squall. Sienna, who thanks to "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" has been a red-carpet regular this summer, sparkled in an icy blue Thakoon minidress, while editor Anna's colorful Prada frock was a bit busy with its clashing bold patterns.

But, the new documentary "The September Issue" (out August 28) looks to paint a picture of iconic Vogue editor Anna Wintour as a force to be reckoned with — no matter what you think of her, she is definitely one of the most influential people in fashion culture.

Surrounded by designers like Jean-Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld (pictured with Anna), Thakoon (who compares her to Madonna!) and Vera Wang, as well as colleagues like editor-at-large André Leon Talley, the trailer for "September Issue" isn't just the "Devil Wears Prada" version of Anna (although she does say ridiculous things like, "This type seems so large and pretentious. It looks like it's for blind people."), it also shows how truly powerful she is, sometimes even with a smile on her face. Let's face it, when you can tell legendary designer Oscar de la Renta what clothes you think shouldn't be on his runway, you deserve to be applauded. Read more...
