"Lose your hang-ups. Find your calling." It's a tagline actress Ari Graynor embraced with open arms for the comedy "For a Good Time, Call..." out today. In the film, Ari and co-star Lauren Miller (who co-wrote the script) play a pair of roommates who start a phone-sex business to pay the bills. (I feel like there's a joke here about putting your money where your mouth is, but I digress...)
Anyway, as you can imagine, the part called for plenty of potty-mouthed shenanigans, which Ari said were definitely more hilarious than hot, hot, hot.
"It was really freeing and really fun," the 29-year-old recalled of reciting the blue dialogue. "And the phone-sex piece of it, we weren't making, like, a phone-sex documentary, so we always wanted it to be funny first and sexually titillating never."
We've held down our fair share of odd jobs, but none was quite so odd as that of Ari Graynor's character, Katie, in the upcoming comedy "For a Good Time, Call..." Let's just say if we utilized vocabulary like hers, that titular call would be to HR. You see, the Manhattanite earns her living talking dirty as a phone sex operator. We're blushing just thinking about it, but Ari owns the fun, fearless role, which is why we're naming her this week's Girl Crush.
As is our custom, we asked the actress for her own Girl Crush pick, and her selection is quickly becoming the most popular answer to this question.
"I have a Girl Crush on Kristen Wiig," Ari said of her fellow actress in funny. "She's just one of the funniest, but also most deeply talented people that I've ever known. She's also just really an amazing, cool, fun-loving person."
The silly, raunchy, heart-felt chick flick "For A Good Time, Call..." opens next week, and really it's just the latest film in a wave of movies and TV shows that have women as the lead jokester. While women have been relegated to the world frothy romantic comedies in the last decade, these projects are ones that highlights the realness of friendship, love and career.
Viewers love that vibe, and "Good Time" star Ari Graynor credits the Kristen Wiig vehicle, "Bridesmaids," for reminding watchers that women are really, really funny when they are at their best, and their worst.
For anyone wondering if Channing Tatum only walks around sans shirt on every one of his movie sets, we here at Hollywood Crush decided to do some investigating. So, when his “10 Years” co-star Ari Graynor stopped by, we knew that she just might have the answer.
“Yeah I never saw him wear a shirt,” she joked. “What’s weird is I never saw him wear a shirt and I also never saw his face because his ass was always in my face, in my face or like on my body while he was dancing for me."
Thanks to the incredibly sexy, male-heavy cast of "What's Your Number?," Anna Faris is one lucky actress. It's her character, Ally Darling, who has the tough job of trying to figure out who of her previous 20 boyfriends is The One.
We caught up with "Community's" Joel McHale at Comic-Con and got a chance to talk to him about his character Roger, who as it turns out is Ally's (un)lucky number 20.
Matt Bomer on the big screen? Yes please. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "White Collar" star (and former Hump Day Hottie) is in talks to join the Anna Faris R-rated comedy "What's Your Number?"
In the flick, about a woman who visits all her ex-boyfriends to make sure none of them are the man of her dreams. Matt's set to play Anna's dream guy, to which we say "duh." Of course he's her dream guy. He's ours too.
