It may not afford a trip to Disney World or a little gold man, but People magazine's annual Sexiest Man Alive proceedings are a contentious contest, nonetheless.
To wit, when "The Hangover" star Bradley Cooper earned the auspicious title over 2011's Golden God Ryan Gosling, fans took up arms, launching online protests and even going so far as to picket outside of People's Time Inc. headquarters. So when our own Josh Horowitz caught up with 2010's Sexiest Man Alive, Ryan Reynolds, at the "Safe House" junket, he had to get the hottie's take on the situation.
Surprisingly (or perhaps not), Ryan was completely unaware of the kerfuffle. "I did not hear about this," he said, after joking that he was now on the Sexiest Man Alive lecture circuit. "Are you kidding?"

Vindication is ours! Sorta.
We had a few choice words for People magazine last month when they named 36-year-old Bradley Cooper Sexiest Man Alive, rather than our very deserving boyfriend Ryan Gosling. And as it turns out, the "Hangover" star himself kinda sees our point.
Appearing on "The Graham Norton Show," Bradley good-naturedly addressed his recently bestowed title and the ensuing pro-Gosling fervor. "It's so awful I'm admitting this, but the hell with it because there was such a backlash when they announced it. And Ryan Gosling, who I love, and I just did a movie with him, and he's the greatest," he enthused.
Bradley went on to recall a "friend" sending him a link to a site comparing the two hunks. "And when I say 'friend,' I mean me alone, looking at the computer," he joked. "It's [Ryan] walking around, and he literally looks like he's in a photo shoot, like he just came off the runway. The pea coat is like this [miming an upturned collar], with the scarf! And then there's ones of me, and I literally look like the neighbor who never really comes out of his house. So it's been interesting."

I demand a recount.
People magazine revealed its pick for 2011's Sexiest Man Alive today, naming 36-year-old Bradley Cooper the hunkiest of all hunks. It's an appointment that sparked plenty of lively discussion in the MTV newsroom, mostly because it seemed so oddly timed.
To be sure, Bradley is quite the looker—you'll get no argument from me on this point. But the honor would have been much more fitting last year, when Bradley was riding high from the success of 2009's "The Hangover" and starring in flicks like "Valentine's Day" and "The A-Team." By comparison, this has been a quiet year for the star.
Conversely, you know who had an amazingly big year? Like, the kind of year that inspires countless internet memes and breakfast treats fashioned in his likeness? Ryan Gosling, that's who.

With Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake going back to school in this weekend's curriculum comedy "Bad Teacher," we got to thinking about what lessons we could learn from a few of Hollywood's other hotties, like Robert Pattinson, Bradley Cooper and Taylor Lautner. So grab your books and take a seat because here is today's class schedule at Hollywood High:
8 a.m. Homeroom with Robert Pattinson
We can think of no better way to kick off our day than by staring dreamily into Robert Pattinson's beautiful face. With his laid back attitude, we have a feeling he'd be the kind of teacher that wouldn't mind if we passed a few notes (mostly about how hot he is) during class.
9 a.m. Advanced French with Bradley Cooper
If you didn't think Bradley Cooper could get any sexier, think again. Bradley recently appeared on a French television show to promote "The Hangover Part II," conversing with the host fluently in the romance language. We're not quite sure what he's saying, but does it really matter when he looks so good? We think it's time to throw out that Rosetta Stone you never opened and take notes from Mr. Cooper on how to speak the language of love.
10 a.m. Shakespeare with Douglas Booth
"LOL" actor Douglas Booth has been brushing up on Shakespeare after being cast in the upcoming "Romeo and Juliet" alongside Hailee Steinfeld, and we bet he is primed to teach us a thing or two about star-crossed love. Get ready to practice role playing (we're still talking about Shakespeare, of course) with this handsome young star in the classroom.

In a town full of babelicious Brads (see: Pitt), Bradley Cooper's hotness certainly gives us a "Hangover." The box office stud has managed to win us over thanks to a killer smile, that confident air and his ability to make us laugh. He's back tomorrow for more antics in "The Hangover Part II," so we're celebrating by making him this week's Hump Day Hottie.
Check out his dreamy photo below, then keep reading for more details about him!

Vital stats: This Philly-area native is quite the brain. He went to Georgetown University and studied acting at The New School.
"I was his Dean at the Actor's Studio Drama School, and Bradley graduated from our school in 2000 and is the first of our students to come back and sit in that chair. He was superb," James Lipton recently told us about his former student. "I knew then that he was going to be a star. I said so."

Talk about a fierce fivesome!
Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung and Jena Malone, the stars of the upcoming "Sucker Punch," have landed on the cover of Nylon and are out to prove that not only can females in Hollywood kick some serious butt on-screen, but can be a force to be reckoned with off-screen as well.

The leading ladies talked to the magazine about what it was like meeting each other on the set of Zack Snyder's action-fantasy flick, and while there wasn't any cattiness to be found ("We all got along. It was magic," Emily said) there was certainly a level of intimidation.

It's St. Patrick's Day and that means we are honoring the hottest Irish actors out there. And because we've managed to also spawn some Irish hotties stateside (and from Canada!), we decided to pay homage to Irish American lookers for good measure. So, who are our St. Patrick's Day hotties? Check out who made the list!

(Click on the image above to see our entire flipbook of hot men with the luck of the Irish!)
Ryan Reynolds
The newly single actor has some Irish blood coursing through those hottie veins. Maybe he's paying homage to those roots as the star of—wait for it—"Green Lantern."

Typically when you hear an actor or actress wants to try their hand at something new—be it singing or producing or starting a line of perfumes and colognes—most of the time it's hard not to think, 'Don't quit your day job!'
But when it comes to someone like the uber-talented Drew Barrymore, we can't help but get excited about her latest venture, be it on or off-screen. After directing 2009's underrated, kick-butt roller derby movie "Whip It," Drew will, thankfully be heading behind the camera once more, this time for a genre that's even more up her alley: romantic comedies!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Drew, who was last seen in the funny romance-from-afar flick "Going The Distance," will be at the helm of "How To Be Single," the big-screen adaptation of the novel by the same name that "explores the loves lives and break-ups of a group of New Yorkers over the course of 10 years." There's no word yet on whether Drew will also star in the movie.
Though we never need an excuse to watch a romantic comedy or support Drew Barrymore, we wanted to share three big reasons why we think this pairing is going to be a match made in movie heaven:

New Year's Eve is just around the corner, and with it starts production on Garry Marshall's follow-up to the celeb-packed "Valentine's Day," appropriately titled "New Year's Eve." The film follows a whole bunch of couples ringing in the new year in NYC, and since the film hasn't started filming yet, we figured now would be as good a time as any to come up with a list of 11 New Year's resolutions for the upcoming movie.
We all know it's tough to stick to our resolutions throughout the entire year, but hopefully "New Year's Eve" will make good on a couple of our suggestions. After all, is it so tough to cast Alexander Skarsgård or get Lady Gaga to perform a song-and-dance number in the flick? Didn't think so. Click on after the jump to see the resolutions!

We can't help but wonder if movie studio execs have been unknowingly tapping our dreams with "Inception"-style voodoo, because the latest casting news out of Hollywood is just too good to be true: Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper will be starring in a movie together! Let me give you a minute to process that. Ryan. Bradley. Movie. Good.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two hunks will be starring in an untitled action-comedy, which "follows two friends, who are also San Francisco cops, whose fathers were once partners on the police force. The older generation is forced out of retirement to help their sons crack a case, with typically antagonistic results." No word yet on who will play the patriarchs.
