It's a great time to be an alum of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," seeing as many of the show's cast members are returning to the small screen. With news that the show's resident mean girl, Cordelia (a.k.a. Charisma Carpenter) has nabbed herself a cameo spot on USA Network's "Burn Notice," it got us wondering what the other actors on the show are up to these days. Short answer: quite a lot!

Sarah Michelle Gellar will be back on prime time this fall with her thrilling new CW drama, "Ringer." The show revolves around a woman running from the mob who is pretending to be her twin sister. The problem? Her sister's identity also comes with some baggage.

Buffy the Vampire SlayerVampire romance? Dude, that's soooo 2009. If you want to get trendy, you'd be talking to us about vampire snuff films—because when it comes to keeping up with our fang-related trends, crushing on the Cullens is out and the next big thing is a kick-ass, vamp-killing heroine with a bag full of stakes! That's per the latest news from Warner Bros, which just announced that they've got a feature-length reboot of 1990s favorite "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" in the works.

It was about time for Buffy to get another big-screen moment—especially since in previous versions, her on-screen exploits were slightly sullied by the limits of low-budget special effects. So while nobody will ever replace Buffy originators Sarah Michelle Gellar or Kristy Swanson in our collective hearts, we'll be excited to see the actual slaying brought up to CGI speed.

Yeah, so David Boreanaz may never feel like bringing Angel back from the undead for a "Buffy" and/or "Angel" reunion, but "Buffy" resident, Alyson Hannigan (who played Willow in the series), wouldn't be against it.

Unless, of course it has anything to do with those plans to remake the cult-loved TV show and movie without its creator, Joss Whedon. "Yeah, and that's a very big mistake in my opinion," she told Cinemablend. “I mean if Joss isn't involved, it's only the title."

If the rumors are true and they go through with remaking the series without Joss, she wouldn’t even drop by for a quick cameo. "Not without Joss. Joss is the only reason that we would go back. I mean, it's just ridiculous to think of that TV show without Joss," the "How I Met Your Mother" star explained. "That's just silly to me… And all the fans know that, too, so I don't know what they're thinking."

David recently argues that there's probably no place to make "Buffy" happen again, given the number of hit vampire series already on TV these days. "You have so many new shows that are coming out like 'True Blood' and 'The Vampire Diaries,' you have so many different types of those shows it's kind of regenerated itself," he explained.

Attention Vampire fanatics: For those looking to fill the void before "New Moon" opens, the next season of "True Blood" and "The Vampire Diaries" latest episode, check out "Vampire Taxonomy: Identifying and Interacting with the Modern-Day Bloodsucker," by Meredith Woerner. One part witty how-to interaction guide and two parts vampire glossary, this book is a humorous, yet authoritative look at pop culture's current fixation on all things fang-tastic.

"Taxonomy" begins with an overview of vampire origins, and then delves right into the gory detail of five definitive vampire types: Romantic (aka Edward Cullen, Bill Compton — see an illustration after the jump), Villainous (Count Orlok, Dracula), Tragic (Angel, Jasper Cullen), Halfies (Blade). We like the Tragic vamps best, in large part due to an adolescent crush on "Buffy" heartthrob Angel (it wasn't the same after he left!), and also because we are suckers for those tortured souls. Er, tortured soul-less? Ha. Who knew there were so many puns to be had in writing about vampires? Anyway, moving on...
