At this point, tearjerker king Nicholas Sparks should probably come out with his own line of tissues to accompany the sad-yet-uplifting stories he's known for writing. From the looks of the trailer for "Dear John," the latest of Sparks' books to be adapted into a movie, this one won't be any different.

The unlucky lovers faced with a challenge to overcome — this is basically the formula for every Sparks story, and man, it works every time — are Savannah (the always lovely Amanda Seyfried) and John (the always handsome Channing Tatum), who meet while John is on leave from the military and have only two weeks before he goes back to war. Of course, during that time they fall madly in love, and spend the next 12 months writing letters to each other before John is released from his tour of duty. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that all of hers begin with "Dear John" — she says it a couple of times in the trailer (see it after the jump) so I'm pretty sure that's right.

If the old adage "one is a fluke, two is a coincidence, three is a trend" is to be believed, than '80s dance movie remakes are positively de rigueur. Upcoming redos of "Footloose" and "Fame" will have some company on the dance floor when a new version of "Dirty Dancing" cha-chas into theaters, reports Production Weekly.

The original, which starred Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, premiered in 1987 raking in $214 million internationally at the box office. The new script will be penned by ''Uptown Girls" writer Julia Dahl and, as of yet, no roles have been cast. We here at Hollywood Crush love to throw in our two cents when it comes to casting, so here's who we think should slink into leotards and leg warmers for the lead roles of Johnny Castle and Frances "Baby" Houseman. Ever since Miley Cyrus’ strip pole dance fiasco at the Teen Choice Awards last weekend, celebrity stripper stories are now hot to trot (in fact, just this morning, we mentioned that Eric Bana had to "strip" for his role in "Time Traveler's Wife"!). This year, "G.I. Joe" star Channing Tatum played with guns shooting bad guys, resulting in a box-office smash hit, but little did we know ten years ago Channing liked having women play with his own guns — on stage.

That’s right, the "G.I." stud used to strut his stuff half-naked on stage for $50 a night plus tips and at only 18-years old, no less. Us Weekly got a hold of an action-packed video of of the actor, a.k.a. “Chan Crawford,” baring it all on stage wearing a manly yellow thong. On the bright side, it was stripping that got Chan his first big-time gig in Ricky Martin’s music video for “She Bangs.” The leaked video was shot at a Chippendales-esque club called Male Encounter in 1999. No camo gear or unwieldy body armor here. Glam was definitely the codeword at last night's L.A. premiere of "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," with stars Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols looking the best we've seen them during their many weeks of "Joe" publicity appearances.

Though we prefer our Chan served sizzling hot with a side of pecs and abs (like here and here), even we have to admit the Alabama boy looks dang good in a suit. The actor came outfitted in a classic black number, complete with silver-striped tie and black pocket square. Chan's bud and fellow Joe, Marlon Wayans, also cut a dapper form in a light gray suit. Every day a multitude of stars wanders through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

A slew of CW stars, including "Melrose Place" actress Ashlee Simpson-Wentz in a bright blue shorts ensemble, turned up at the Television Critics Association Press Tour this week to dish about their upcoming shows. (Why isn't it September yet!?!) Click on the photo below to see more of Ashlee and a few other TCA guests.

On the reboot of the classic '90s primetime soap, Ashlee plays small-town girl Violet, "whose disarming naivete masks the calculating, shrewd sex kitten within," according to EW. She told the panel that hubby Pete Wentz, along with the rest of her family, has seen the pilot and loves it. But don't expect "Melrose" to be a family affair. Ashlee shot down the idea of sister Jessica guest-starring on the drama. "I think we've mixed enough family and work, so for now we're good just being sisters," she said during the panel. In case you haven't noticed, we here at Hollywood Crush are a smidge enamored with "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" star Channing Tatum. And really, who could blame us? That body! Those dance moves! That wife! Um, scratch that last part.

Anyhow, as undying Chan Fans, we never miss an opportunity to share the latest on this week's "Star Gazing" celeb (even if that does include marrying another woman). Read more...

If Megan Fox is this summer's overexposed female star, then Channing Tatum is her male counterpart. But in a good way. Unlike dude blogs who have declared tomorrow as "A Day Without Megan Fox," we could never imagine banishing Chan's tight abs — even for just a 24 hours — which is one of the many reasons the chiseled 29-year-old is the focus of this week's "Star Gazing."

Chan has been everywhere this summer. Not only did he cover GQ's August issue and take a turn on the dance floor in a hilarious "Dirty Dancing" spoof, but he somehow found time to tie the knot with "Step Up" costar Jenna Dewan, amid a publicity bonanza for "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" (which hits theaters Friday). To celebrate Chan's hot summer, we've compiled a swoon-worthy gallery starring the Alabama native. Click below to peruse the pics and read on to get the dish on Chan's rise to fame.

A week ago we brought you exclusive pictures from the set of Channing Tatum and Charlyne Yi's "Dirty Dancing" spoof for Mean magazine's Cinemash. You probably oogled Channing's six-pack and totally 80s hair for hours, but now you can see the main event in its entirety by pressing play above. Read more...

Robert Pattinson and Brad PittIs the macho movie star dead? Probably not, but he could sure you some vigorous mouth-to-mouth according to an essay by Esquire.com's new pop-culture columnist.

With the surprising success of movies like bro-comedies "The Hangover" and "Paul Blart: Mall Cop," writer S.T. VanAirsdale argues that the age of the traditional male movie star is over. Whether they're short and shlubby (Kevin James, ahem) or awkward and lanky (Michael Cera, anyone?), a new breed of leading man is taking over the cineplex from the likes of Brad, George and Denzel. Channing Tatum's got one understanding bride. After cutting into his Australian honeymoon with promotional duties (He was quoted as saying, "I am on honeymoon but not at the moment. We'll pick that up after the promotion work is done.") the newlywed once again left wife Jenna Dewan's side to pose for "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" publicity shots today in London. He's pictured below with (from left to right) costars Dennis Quaid, Karolina Kurkova, director Stephen Sommers, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols and Marlon Wayans.

Fittingly enough, the photocall had a decidedly military feel, with the cast vogueing atop the HMS Belfast, a decommissioned Royal Navy cruiser from World War II. Several stars even arrived (or departed. Or, both — it's hard to tell) in speedboat flanked by camouflaged soldiers. Click on the pic below to see snapshots from the event and keep reading for more on the "G.I. Joe" London Photocall after the jump.
