With 2011 mere heartbeats away, we couldn't help but reminisce about our favorite portrayals of New Year's Eve on the silver screen. Cinematically, the New Year is a symbol for new beginnings, as exemplified by our top five NYE moments below. If your plans are more of the cuddle-by-the-fire than shimmy-at-the-club variety, consider popping one of these faves into your DVD player to appropriately say sayonara to 2010.
Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens in "High School Musical"
Our favorite Disney couple, Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), meets at a New Year’s Eve party. They're both tentative when the host picks them for karaoke, but by the end of "Start of Something New," it's obvious these two lovebirds were made to sing and dance together. Oh, Zac and Vanessa, "Get'cha Head in the Game" and get back together!
Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet in "A Lot Like Love"
After meeting on a plane (and joining the mile high club), Emily (Amanda Peet) calls Oliver (Ashton Kutcher) in a bout of New Year's Eve loneliness. Thus begins a long-distance friendship that develops into true love. Aww!

The misadventures of our favorite Cosmo-swilling foursome have finally hit DVD and Blu-ray! Perhaps, like us, your favorite sequences from "Sex and the City 2" were the awesome, oh-so-retro '80s flashbacks. That hair! Those clothes! Oh my! Thankfully, the timewarp is getting some extra love on DVD/Blu-ray with the stars explaining their old-school looks. (Kim Cattrall borrowed a Walkman from a crew member for her get-up!) Check out our EXCLUSIVE nugget from the new release!
What's your favorite scene from "Sex and the City 2"?

It's a big day for "Sex and the City" alumni. Hot on the heels of news Michael Patrick King is writing and directing a Home Shopping Network-themed comedy starring Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey and Sandra Bullock, comes word that "SATC" actress Kristin Davis scored a deal of her own—on TV. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kristin will star in a half-hour NBC comedy called "The Happiness Project," about a woman's mission to become, duh, a happier individual. The series is based on a memoir by Gretchen Rubin, a former law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. This news got us wondering which other "SATC" stars we'd like to see back on the small screen. Cast your vote after the jump for the actress (or actor!) who should score a TV deal next!

Sitting at my laptop, staring out the window at the New York City skyline just beyond my little piece of Queens, I have to admit I feel a little bit like Carrie. Granted I don’t live in Manhattan and I’m lacking Mr. Big, but after tonight, I couldn’t have felt more like one of the girls when I got my big chance to attend the "Sex and the City 2 premiere.
Around 5pm last night, I walked down 6th Ave toward one of the cities greatest venues. Never before have I set foot inside Radio City Music Hall, but tonight I would be walking in as a guest of one fabulous world premiere. As I drew closer to the theater, the New York City energy buzzed as fans of Carrie Bradshaw and her girlfriends waited to get their glimpse of Manhattan history. In true "Sex" style, this red carpet was not so red, but rather a diamond blue shade that screamed Carrie.

Sarah Jessica Parker strikes gold on the cover of Marie Claire’s June issue. Shining solo on the outside of the mag, the “Sex and the City 2” star is joined by her fellow costars Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall on the inside. With the premiere of the second installment of the “SATC” movie franchise on its way (May 27!!), America’s favorite foursome dished on some behind-the-scenes dirt.
“I’ve never revealed as much or been so daring or made quite as many triumphant mistakes as Carrie,” the fashion icon told Marie Claire. “But I’m now bolder than I would have been had I never played this part.”

The nation's capital got a hefty dose of Hollywood star power this weekend as some of our fave celebs hit the town for the 2010 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. Now, we weren't expecting much from this meal, but boy were we wrong, because apparently, nothing brings celebs together like politics (who knew?!). Seriously, the night was full of unexpected pairings and fab outfits. Check out our recap to find out more!

Justin Bieber has made it pretty clear that he'd love to date Kim Kardashian, and he definitely got a few steps closer at the Corespondent's dinner. Justin, who no doubt made millions of teen girls swoon in his tux, and Kim, who wore an elegant strapless gown, finally met up on the red carpet and seemed to totally hit it off. In fact, the Biebs even tweeted a picture of the two, saying "Look it's my girlfriend," and Kim played along by responding she officially had Bieber Fever (welcome to the club!).

Need some music to strut, shop, or (if you're Samantha Jones) shag by? Well, here you go! The "Sex and the City 2" official movie soundtrack has finally been announced (it will be for sale May 25), and HOLYOMG, it's everything we'd hoped for and more. Rump-shaking girl jams by Erykah Badu and Leona Lewis? Check! Brand new music from "SATC" veteran Jennifer Hudson? Check! An all-male choir singing classic love-song standards? Check! And... Liza Minelli doing a jazzed-up cover of Beyonce's "Single Ladies"?
...No, seriously. CHECK! (Now please, please just let there be a photo somewhere of Liza wearing Beyonce's robot glove.)
The soundtrack, like the movie, looks to be equal parts sentimental and sexy — and it's pretty much a start-to-finish showcase of top female talent, with the exception of a final track by Aaron Zigman that, per the movie's desert setting, is hilariously titled "Divas and Dunes."

The deserts of the Middle East are dry, sweltering, full of camels... and apparently, very luxurious! New stills from "Sex and the City 2" were released last week and we couldn't help but notice — there is a whole lot of decadence going on in Abu Dhabi. We're loving the strategically placed heels in the photo below, but more than that, we're fascinated by the guy behind the girls who just seems to be waiting on them hand and foot.
Other new stills include Samantha (Kim Catrall) relaxing in a chic Oriental-inspired room, our gals venturing through the open desert (in even more fabulous clothes) and more! Click on the photo below to see them all.
