By now, you've probably watched the "Eclipse" DVD at least once, though we suspect that figure numbers more in the tens or twenties. (One Hollywood Crush reader tweeted that she's watched it 35 times already! Is that even mathematically possible?!) However many times you've seen the "Twilight" film, we bet it's only reaffirmed many fans' (and critics') opinions that "Eclipse" is the best of the franchise...so far. When we chatted with director David Slade last week in anticipation of the DVD's release, we couldn't help but ask why he thinks the third film is the favorite.

"I think it had the best story," he said. "And the most action."

That's all well and good, David, but we think you had a little something to do with it, too.

There are plenty of "Eclipse" things to celebrate today. First, the soundtrack was nominated for a Grammy, and, second, we have only one and a half days until the DVD hits stores! We've been sounding off on the reasons we're excited for the DVD's release all week (see why we're excited here and here and here), and it was our conversation with director David Slade on Tuesday that got us really pumped for our No. 2 reason: "Eclipse"'s deleted scenes.

Though he couldn't remember too many of the making-of segments, David was passionately involved with the DVD's deleted scenes special feature. He teases us with a preview of one such scene after the jump!

Happy first night of Hanukkah, everyone! And for those of you not of the Jewish faith (please, indulge in latkes and gelt anyway), happy 25 days of Christmas! At least, that's the holiday Snooki is busy celebrating today. But while there are eight days of Hanukkah and apparently 25 days of Christmas, the observance most stars remembered today only occurs once a year: World AIDS Day.

Many of our favorite stars' accounts announced that they were "digitally dead," sacrificing their digital lives to raise money for Alicia Keys' charity Keep A Child Alive. While we definitely missed the hilarious commentary of Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and Ryan Seacrest, one of our favorite comedians took a slightly different approach to raising awareness of AIDS prevention. "It is AIDS day. Put on a condom RIGHT NOW. Even if you're not aroused. Even if you're not having sex. Just put it on," Russell Brand ordered his Twitter followers.

Check out the rest of Wednesday's best tweets as Josh Schwartz celebrates another important holiday today and David Slade gets emotional over "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1"! Follow us @hollywoodcrush to get even more celebrity and pop culture news around the clock!

OME, only four more days until "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" hits stores on DVD! Should we dub this auspicious day Sparkly Friday in Edward's honor? After all, Jacob got his own spending-spree holiday last week. (That is why they call it Black Friday, right?) While the judges reach a verdict, today we're coming at you with the No. 4 reason we're pumped for this particular film to hit home video.

Yesterday we talked about the DVD special feature that allows fast-forwarding to all the Edward or Jacob scenes in the film (swoon!), but today we're all about the special six-part making-of documentary. Mum's been the word on what the documentary actually entails, so we decided to ask director David Slade if he could give us a little preview of what fans can expect.

Now that the final installment of Suzanne Collins' wildly popular trilogy "The Hunger Games" has hit bookstore shelves, the next big thing for her dystopian franchise is a movie adaption due in 2011. While nailing the casting of Katniss is one of our top concerns (more on that in a bit), it's undeniable getting the right director to helm the project is crucial.

Deadline is reporting that the shortlist of director candidates is down to three: Gary Ross, Sam Mendes and David Slade. "Twilight" fans are well-acquainted with David's work, as he most recently directed the franchise's third installment, "Eclipse." His sensibility seems most suited to the job, not only because of his experience with YA fiction, but also his deftness with epic battle scenes/fights, of which "Hunger Games" has its fair share. But we'll admit it's quite simplistic to say success with the "Twilight Saga" automatically guarantees success with "The Hunger Games." Sure, they're both YA novels with fantastical elements and a love triangle at their centers, but in the end, they are very different animals.

There's no denying vampires and werewolves have enraptured us of late. But society's interest in the supernatural is nothing new. Cinematic history is chock full of flicks focusing on otherworldly beings. With more than a year (!!) until our favorite vampire franchise returns with "Breaking Dawn," we're passing the time by revisiting movies featuring creatures that go Bump In The Night or BITN (get it, bitten?)

September Is BITN By Vampires!

This week we're taking a look at "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," the most recent, most popular and easily the most vampire-y of the "Twilight" films.

One of the high points for us at Hollywood Crush during our viewings of "Eclipse" was a chance to see the backstories of Rosalie and Jasper realized on the big screen. We have heard Jackson Rathbone talk about how excited he was to play Civil War soldier for his flashback sequence, but were a little surprised to find out Nikki Reed was nervous to do Rosalie's flashbacks.

"I was torn because I was definitely looking forward to it. I mean, I read the first three books before we began filming 'Twilight,' so I knew what I had in store if we made all three movies," she told MTV News about going back in time. "But I was obviously very intimidated, and I felt a little insecure, and I was nervous, and — maybe I should not be saying all these things — but I was."

EclipseI didn't trust myself to see "Eclipse" alone and be able to come back with a fair-minded assessment of what I'd witnessed.

Having yawned my way through the first two flicks in the vampire series, I know that when it comes to all things "Twilight," I just...don't get it. Luckily, my sister is a committed fan: she's read all the books, watched "Twilight" and "New Moon" multiple times, even rushed out to get "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner," though it was available for free online, because she needed to add the volume to her collection.

It's about time Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart got some sort of a break — er, well, sort of. While the two are back in the states doing interviews with NYC media like the "Today" show, Ashley Greene, Xavier Samuel and director David Slade took their jetsetter reigns and attended an "Eclipse" photocall in Madrid, Spain.

While we do appreciate the sophisticated, crisp all-cream Michael Kors look Ashley has going (we can totes see her playing a power editor in a rom com in those threads!) we don't think it complemented Xavier's untucked-shirt-meets-slouchy-brown-boots combo all that well. Then again — we're pretty sure Xavier could wear a garbage bag and still look cute, so we don't mind the sartorial juxtaposition. David, however, seemed to love every minute of the attention. We just love his "I'm too sexy for this photo" face below!

What did you think of Ashley, Xavier and David's Madrid fashion?

It wasn't a big surprise last night at the "Eclipse" premiere that the stars of "The Twilight Saga" said almost unanimously that the tent scene was the moment in the film they were most looking forward to.

We already knew that it was that scene that sent the cast back to do last minute reshoots, and that Robert Pattinson liked the original version better, but director David Slade set the record straight that the two versions weren't very different after all.
