"Not only am I the host of the show, but I'm also a vampire and a werewolf," Jimmy Kimmel said during his introduction of last night's episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" "I hope I don't have to kill anyone tonight."

This kicked off the "New Moon"-heavy episode, which featured the only interview of Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson together. It also featured a performance by Death Cab for Cutie, whose "Meet Me At The Equinox" was the first single off the album.

Ever since he responded to then-girlfriend Sara Silverman's admission of indiscretion with Matt Damon by getting Harrison Ford, Lance Bass and Josh Groban to film an anthem to his relationship with Ben Affleck, Jimmy Kimmel has been my favorite late night talk show host. He cemented that even more when he asked Taylor Lautner the best question yet out of the "New Moon" press tour ...

You've probably waited for this moment ever since it was announced that Death Cab For Cutie's "Meet Me On The Equinox" would be the first single released off of the "New Moon" soundtrack. Well, folks, get ready because the music video is just one click away.

Is this piece of art going to do justice to the piece of art that is "New Moon"? According to guitarist Chris Walla, yes, because the video follows a very similar tone. "There's this whole day-night, sunlight-moonlight thing going on," Chris told MTV News. "It's being lit in two pieces. Basically it's like a compressed time sort of thing, where through a verse of the song, it'll move from day to night in the course of like 20 seconds." And, the way the lyrics unfold, Chris continues, "is a really nice parallel for 'New Moon.'" Now it's time to judge for yourself, press play below!

If you're like us, you've been jamming to the first single off the "New Moon" soundtrack, Death Cab for Cutie's "Meet Me On The Equinox," since its debut last month. But starting Wednesday, we'll have a treat for our eyes and ears when the Seattle-based band debut their music video.

MTV News caught up with DCFC on the Toronto set of the video (see our behind-the-scenes interviews with the band on set after the jump), a spooky old mansion decorated with stained glass windows, sepia-toned family photos and even a stuffed deer's head. "This is certainly the creepiest place we've ever shot a video, that's for sure," joked bassist Nick Harmer. "This mansion is haunted."

The key to some of the best featured songs from huge movie soundtracks is that they stand apart from the film they are meant to represent. Think "My Heart Will Go On" from "Titanic" or "Decode" from "Twilight." Such is the case with Death Cab for Cutie's "Meet Me on the Equinox," the first single off the "New Moon" soundtrack, which debuted yesterday (press play above to hear it in its entirety) while the Video Music Awards aired.

For those of you who don't know, the official Dictionary.com definition of equinox is: "the time when the sun crosses the plane of the earth's equator, making night and day of approximately equal length all over the earth." Vampires can only come out during the night and humans spend most of their life during the day sounds surprisingly fitting for a vampire/human love story. Read more...

Though Death Cab for Cutie's "Meet Me On the Equinox" won't premiere until Sunday (the day of the 2009 Video Music Awards and premiere of another "New Moon" trailer), the members of the Seattle-based band spoke with MTV News last week while shooting the video for the song, the first single from the "New Moon" soundtrack. The video doesn't have a set premiere date yet, but guitarist Chris Walla gave us the scoop on what the clip will entail.

Shots of the band playing in a rustic-looking "crazy ski lodge of a building," what Chris imagines is a place somewhere in Forks that "might be next door to Bella's house or something," will be intercut with footage from the movie. The Seattle-based band is no stranger to Forks — the musicians all hail from Washington and a couple even visited Forks in its pre-"Twilight" days. Read more...
