The Carrie DiariesThe rumors are true: The CW is officially moving forward with "Sex and the City" prequel "The Carrie Diaries"!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage ("Gossip Girl") will produce, while "SATC" scribe Amy B. Harris will write and direct the TV series, based on Candace Bushnell's YA novel, which follows Carrie Bradshaw during her senior year of high school.

With two books in the series, and another two slated for publication, producers will no doubt have plenty of source material to work with.

We, for one, are cautiously optimistic about this would-be series (having a former "SATC" writer on staff certainly bodes well), but casting the right Carrie will be key. I mean, it's going to be hard to fill Carrie Bradshaw's well-worn Manolos. But we think there are a few actresses up for the task. The end is near for camptastic Disney favorite "Wizards of Waverly Place." While we're sure we'll still see plenty of our favorites (stars Selena Gomez and David Henrie both have projects lined up post-"Wizards"), it'll be sad to see the series end. Members of the cast, including Gregg Sulkin (pictured) and Dan Benson have been all a-tweet as filming winds down. Dan hinted at a super-secretive set, tweeting, "Top secret episode of Wizards. Security guards are all around the set. I feel really important." Gregg tweeted that the soundstage was "boiling" (wonder what's making the set so hot?) and asked fans about their "Wizards" love, tweeting, "What's your favourite Wizards of Waverly Place catchphrase?"

Adrian Grenier and company worked some magic of their own recently; the actor's relentless Twitter campaign for a Webby paid off. SHFT won both the People's Choice and a Webby. Adrian tweeted the good news to the fans that helped make it happen. "Thx to u @shftdotcom won BOTH people's choice & webby award. I'm celebrating w/a majestic fountain. You? http://say.ly/bOaiCz." Pal and SHFT supporter Sophia Bush chimed in, "Thanks to each&every one of you who helped win @SHFTdotcom a #Webby. Each vote mattered & we've shown the world we care about this planet!"

Preparation for the Coachella music festival (the lineup for which includes the likes of Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire and Kanye West) was all over Twitter today. The festival doesn't start until tomorrow, but everyone from Paris Hilton to Kaitlin Olson was getting ready to go. Whitney Port (pictured) mused about manicure options for the event, tweeting, "Thoughts on our Coachella manicures?? http://bit.ly/hZ7Yys I feel like mine are a bit boring... " But not everyone was so sure about the event. DJ Samantha Ronson took the "anti-Coachella" stance. "Headed to shanghai today for a quick holiday. Anyone else think I might be taking this anti-coachella thing a bit too far?," she said on the site. "Greek" star Gregory Michael was more on the fence, tweeting (quite Shakespearean-ly), "To coachella or not to coachella... That is the question."

The upcoming dance flick "Go For It!"'s promotion to bring the premiere to one lucky high school also had some stars talking. "Dancing With the Stars'" Derek Hough blasted about the contest with an enthusiastic, "Let's DANCE! Win Premiere of #GoForIt! Movie for YOUR High School! http://jol.ly/0fDI #Ad." "Keeping Up With the Kardashians"' Kendall Jenner was more concerned with winning than promoting though. "WHAT? I'm soo winning this! Win Premiere of #GoForIt! Movie for YOUR High School! http://jol.ly/0zDI #Ad," she tweeted.

The weather is warmer and that means one thing is for certain: Beach season is upon us. For many, it's time to start hitting the gym hard again, and celebs are no exception—several of them heralded the warmer climate with workout plans of their own today on Twitter. Ashley Monroe (pictured) tweeted her plans to intensify her routine with tons of cardio (oof, we're getting tired just thinking about it), saying, "That's it. When I get home.. I'm starting my 5 days a week cardio.. INTENSE!! Pictures of these gals us weekly have officially motivated me." "America's Next Top Model" winner Adrianne Curry found a way to slim her waist while bulking her bank account, thanks to, of all things, her World of Warcraft love (which just goes to show geeking out can really pay). She tweeted of the deal, "After hearing I used it while playing warcraft, the Flex belt has hired me on as their spokesmodel! Ads coming soon :P warcraft pays off!" Other celebs are taking a more relaxed approach to their gym schedules, like "Hellcats"' Jeremy Wong, who tweeted, "Finally home! It's sunny and I feel great. Lunch time and then hit the gym!"

If you're more interested in play than work, some of our favorite bands took to Twitter to announce upcoming free shows. Seeing the likes of the Plain White T's and Boys Like Girls for free? Yes, please. Martin Johnson promoted a gratis Boys Like Girls show tonight in Nashville. Music lovers who live farther north can try to make it to the Plain White T's free show in May. The band tweeted the details, saying, "Join us as we play a free show for the fans at the Journeys Backyard BBQ in Minneapolis, MN on May 28th from... http://fb.me/V1asOL53"

In case it wasn't already completely obvious: Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith's kids are getting ready to take over the world, whether we're ready or not. So it was only a matter of time until Willow Smith and her brother, Jaden Smith, set their sights on conquering the Twitterverse as well. While Willow is already something of a seasoned pro at tweeting, Jaden is new to the game, and it's all thanks to his pal, fellow teenage pop culture invader, Justin Bieber. On Monday, the Biebs stated, "Jaden needs twitter" and, as expected, he made it happen (he takes this "never say never" mantra very seriously, gang!) Jaden (pictured here with Justin) sent out his first-ever tweet later that evening, "Chillin with my bro @justinbieber." Then on Wednesday morning, Justin, apparently set on making this global takeover a partnership, posted, "everyone follow @officialjaden and get him to 500,000 followers today!"

But Justin and Jaden weren't the only ones looking out for each other today. Ian Somerhalder gave a big shout-out to his "Vampire Diaries" co-star (and his rumored off-screen love interest) Nina Dobrev for herTeen Vogue cover story, as he posted, "The lovely and talented @ninadobrev on the cover of TEEN VOGUE!Get it on mag stands&let the publishing world know how awesome she really is!" As did another one of "Vampire"'s leading ladies, Kat Graham, who wrote to her friend, "@ninadobrev covers teen vogue :) http://t.co/Z5wfRm3." A gracious Nina tweeted back, "THX;)"

Can you feel the love, Crushers? Celebrities most certainly did around the Twitterverse on this Valentine's Day, and as our V-Day gift to you, we're bringing you a second helping of Tweet Dreams today! Some stars had some clever Valentine ideas for their sweeties, like "Mad Love" star Jason Biggs, who joked, "Gonna make my wife breakfast in bed for Valentine's Day. Thinking about fresh squeezed OJ and a Lady Gaga omelet." Other celebs had their own Valentine's wish lists, such as singer Keri Hilson, who posted, "ALL I WANT is a foot rub for V-Day! I admit, performin n heels 4 a living means I don't hv the cutest feet BUT if ur aftr MY heart? DO IT ;)"

But not all stars were in love with February 14th. Some famous fellows complained about the romance-heavy holiday, including "The Soup" host Joel McHale, who tweeted, "Happy invented for the greeting card companies holiday!!!!" And it seems the only "VD" Ian Somerhalder likes is "Vampire Diaries," as the actor wrote from his page, "a corporate holiday nonetheless a conspiracy of florists&chocolatiers but a great excuse to show love.So just hug someone!" Nevertheless, "Pretty Little Liars" star Keegan Allen (pictured) had a simple solution no matter where Cupid's arrow may strike you, telling followers "Pretty Little Liars is the best date for Valentine's. Because we LOVE IT. #PLL loves you too."

PinkPink will be buying a whole lot of baby clothes in pink (or blue!) pretty soon! The "Raise Your Glass" singer (pictured) officially announced the news during her visit to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that she and husband Carey Hart are expecting. As she put it, "I'm eating for two these days"! Host Ellen DeGeneres posted on her Twitter, "@Pink spilled the beans on my show today. She’s pregnant! She’s gonna make one fun mama. http://ow.ly/3blQ0" and even gave the new parents a present for their bundle of joy. Carey tweeted the gift from his page and joked, "@pink came home from the @theEllenShow yesterday with this kids motorcycle. Did i miss something? http://yfrog.com/gonm1oj."

While Pink and Carey received the happiest news of their lives, Brandy got the not-so-great word that she'd been voted off this season of "Dancing with the Stars." The booted finalist wrote, "My life has truly changed from one of the most challenging experiences of my life! My confidence, strength, and passion has reawakened:) I am forever grateful to God and all of you who believed when I didn't! Thank you so much for being the best fans in the whole world!!" Brandy's baby brother Ray J didn't take the announcement as well when he told followers, "I really think DWTS was unfair.. When you really look at it!! It was Wrong!! I don't like the show at all now!! They lost my respect!"
