This week's After Hours with MTV News' Josh Horowitz invites a whole lot of questions. Questions like: where, what, or who is "Snowy River"? And why is Malin Akerman abusing Josh's lapels whilst shouting about betrayal? And was there something in the water at the Sundance Film Festival last month?
The answers are out there! Somewhere! But don't look for them in this star-studded promo for a new (non-existent) series that will rival "Twin Peaks" for mysterious monsters, non sequitur dialogue and young brunette actresses staring vacantly into the camera—and don't expect us to know anything, either. All we can say about the mysterious "Snowy River" is that...

If things seem a little empty around here, it's because MTV News has left the building.. and arrived at the Sundance Film Festival to hob, nob and generally get acquainted with this year's best under-the-radar and indie flicks. And like all good friends on vacation, we've got a great set of picture-postcards to say "Wish you were here!" with our flipbook of celeb sightings from industry talks and premieres alike.
Among the folks you can spy in our gallery: Emma Roberts, whose performance in "Celeste and Jesse Forever" has everyone anxious to see the film, and Ryan Kwanten, who popped up in the T-Mobile Google Music Village and happily took photos with a fan or two. Elizabeth Olsen was spotted at the premiere of her new movie "Red Lights"—making her an established darling of the indie circuit after her buzzworthy attendance at Cannes—with a bulky jacket and bundled scarf to keep out the chill. And also in attendance: Taylor Swift! The singer popped up at the "Ethel" premiere thanks to her new friendship with filmmaker Rory Kennedy, and the two were photographed together at a dinner and discussion event later that evening.

After last week's focus on the fashion of the People's Choice Awards, we were psyched to get a fresh batch of photos from yet another awards celebration: this time featuring the gorgeous gals and glam gowns of the Golden Globes. And after Jennifer Lawrence dominated the last Style Superstar honors with her cerulean dress, we couldn't help getting the blues again this week—in a good way! Because one actress' navy number took home the style gold, while another's cobalt cocktail dress left us cold.

Style Superstar Emma Roberts might be a teeny-tiny lady, but she made one big statement at the Golden Globes afterparty in this elegant Zac Posen dress with perfectly placed cutout accents. The cascading ruffles and fan-like seaming made this gown a standout, even by red-carpet standards, and Emma's soft updo goes beautifully with its 1930s vibe. (And man, you should see the back. Meow!)

With its celebration of ordinary people and extraordinary achievements, the CNN Heroes Tribute was a different kind of red-carpet event than the usual Hollywood affair—but that didn't stop some of our favorite celebs from showing their support at yesterday evening's ceremony! And photographers snapped some great shots when the stars came out last night to support this celebration of people who have dedicated their lives to making a difference.
Miley Cyrus, who showed her support with a performance of her hit song "The Climb," showed up on the arm of Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne himself!) and was all smiles in a gauzy yellow gown. She later took to Twitter to express her gratitude for the opportunity to participate. "What a glorious night to be apart of. Thank you for having me on your stage @CNN Such an honor."

If you've been salivating over the moody, mysterious, rapid-cut preview for "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"...well, maybe you shouldn't watch this! Because the folks at Funny or Die have made their own version of this fascinating video—and made sure that we'll never again enjoy the trailer for the first Hollywood installment of Lisbeth Salander's story without also, involuntarily thinking of the words "Jager s---s". THANKS A LOT, GUYS.
(This probably goes without saying, but the clip has some salty language...)
"The Girl With the Tramp Stamp Tattoo" is like a nightmare version of the much-anticipated feature film, complete with a pink scooter, projectile vomit and—yes—a giant butterfly tattoo in That Particular Spot on the back of Emma Roberts. Who seriously sells it, by the way; her performance as "Lisbeth" is so brilliantly trashy that it'll pretty much ruin any goose-pimply anticipation you might've had for the real-deal thriller. But hey, it's funny! Sort of! And we're seriously digging the bespectacled look on Joe Manganiello.

Selena Gomez is poised for a big 2012. After wrapping up a year that left the teen superstar "humbled," she’s readying several important roles for the new year. She’ll become a big sister (an announcement she made on Twitter over Thanksgiving weekend), and she’ll also hit the set for her film "Spring Breakers."
So far, Selena’s work has been more in the world of tween-friendly comedies, but “Spring Breakers” will deviate from that winning formula. Directed by Harmony Korine (the man behind the super-dark, '90s classic, “Kids”), the film will revolve around a group of college girls who rob a restaurant to pay for their spring break. When they land in jail, a drug and arms dealer bails them out, and they quickly become entangled with him. Yeah, this isn’t “Monte Carlo.” James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Emma Roberts are also attached to the project.

Have you learned "The Art of Getting By"? Prepare to hone your skills with stars Emma Roberts and Freddie Highmore as the film's DVD and Blu-ray hit store shelves today! The romantic drama centers around Manhattan teens George (Freddie) and Sally (Emma) as they become friends and contemplate whether they should be more. And for Emma, one of the best parts of filming the coming-of-age tale was its setting.
"The whole experience was so fun for me because I got to shoot in New York City," the New York native told us recently. "It's rare that you get to shoot in a city lately; it's always outside of a city lately. So for me to get to shoot in one of my favorite cities with such a fun cast and crew—I'm still close with most of the cast and the director Gavin [Wiesen] is a close friend."
If we didn't already live in the Big Apple, we'd be itching for a trip after all those accolades from Emma. But lucky for you Hollywood Crush readers, you can still win a vacay to NYC courtesy of "The Art of Getting By"! (Click here for the rules and how to enter!)
Seeing as one of you fine folks will soon be gracing one of Emma's favorite cities, we asked her for a few must-see places to add to your itinerary.

The rumors are true: The CW is officially moving forward with "Sex and the City" prequel "The Carrie Diaries"!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage ("Gossip Girl") will produce, while "SATC" scribe Amy B. Harris will write and direct the TV series, based on Candace Bushnell's YA novel, which follows Carrie Bradshaw during her senior year of high school.
With two books in the series, and another two slated for publication, producers will no doubt have plenty of source material to work with.
We, for one, are cautiously optimistic about this would-be series (having a former "SATC" writer on staff certainly bodes well), but casting the right Carrie will be key. I mean, it's going to be hard to fill Carrie Bradshaw's well-worn Manolos. But we think there are a few actresses up for the task. Keep reading after the jump to see our picks for the future sex columnist!

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
Could these two be any more adorable?
Emma Roberts and boyfriend Chord Overstreet shared a smile and a spin on a carnival ride in The Hamptons this weekend for Super Saturday 14—a charity event hosted by Emma, Donna Karan, Ariel Foxman and Kelly Ripa, benefiting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
The twosome followed up their jaunty ride with an ice-cream cone cool down. Where's ours, guys?

Though Chord Overstreet's future on "Glee" is uncertain, he isn't letting the hubbub keep him down; the 22-year-old's been cavorting all over London this week with gal pal (and girlfriend?) Emma Roberts. Last night, the two were spotted leaving the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" after party, where Emma looked tres chic in a black and tan Max Mara dress.
Earlier in the week, the duo were snapped shopping in London's Notting Hill Gate (Aunt Julia would be so proud!), fueling rumors that they are indeed a couple.
