"Beautiful Creatures" actress Emmy Rossum is ready to be one of the beautiful creatures at tonight's Met Ball—essentially the Academy Awards of fashion. The starlet took to Twitter today to broadcast her enthusiasm for the big night, whose theme is "Punk."
Emmy is one of several actresses, including Jennifer Morrison, Hailee Steinfeld and Naomie Harris, who will be wearing one-of-a-kind Donna Kara Atelier gowns to the festivities. We can't wait to see how beautiful they look!
FROM MTV STYLE: With starring roles in film ("Beautiful Creatures") and TV ("Shameless"), it might be easy to forget that Emmy Rossum's roots are in music. (Remember when she combined the two in "Phantom of the Opera"? EPIC.) And now the starlet has released a new album titled Sentimental Journey.
Our lucky gal pals over at MTV Style sat down with Miss Rossum to discuss the sultry vintage style of her latest music videos "These Foolish Things" and "Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out." Be sure to watch their exclusive interview!

Hollywood's hottest señoritas were in the house at L.A.'s El Rey Theatre last night to celebrate the release of Justin Timberlake's long-awaited new album 20/20 Experience.
Among the glittering guest list were "Twilight" co-stars Anna Kendrick and Nikki Reed, Victoria Justice, Jordin Sparks and Emmy Rossum.
"Watching the one and only @jtimberlake perform at the El Rey theater!Everyone watch out because I'm dancing like no one is here!" Nikki tweeted, along with a photo of the concert.
As if we weren't already jelly enough of Emmy Rossum (that voice! that hair! that closet full of cute cotton clothes!), the actress spilled via Twitter today that she's preparing for a very magical screening: the first look at supernatural romance "Beautiful Creatures."
The film follows caster (a.k.a. witch) Lena Duchannes, who moves to a small Southern town and falls in love with mere mortal Ethan Wate, causing all kinds of problems, naturally. Emmy stars as Lena's cousin Ridley, who's been claimed for the dark side and and lures men with her siren powers.
If you're ready to work yourself into a rabid frothing frenzy of anticipation for the moment this winter when "Beautiful Creatures" finally hits the big screen, we've got just the visual aid for you! The moody, beautiful character posters for all seven major players in this supernatural southern gothic thriller are finally out in the world (via Facebook), and they're totally gorgeous. AND they're all right here for you to gaze at while sobbing and drooling and otherwise freaking out from every orifice in your face over how crazy-amazing this movie is going to be.
So lay down a waterproof tarp on your keyboard and feast your eyes on... Lena, looking lovely in busty black satin! And Ethan, oh-so-soulful underneath the live oaks! And Ridley, all sheer lace sexiness and with crazy spinning pinwheels in her eyes! And Macon, giving a whole new meaning to the term "silver fox"! And then be glad that you only have to wait a little over two months to finally see them all alive and in conflict at a theater near you, because a fangirl can only be contented with pretty poster-pictures for so long before she starts succumbing to the dark side.
Proving she's not only talented but generous too, "Beautiful Creatures" actress Emmy Rossum took to Twitter today to give her followers a holiday treat: a new single called "Holiday Paper"!
The seasonal song is currently available on Spotify, and can be downloaded on iTunes. Though busy filming, Emmy's been sneaking onto Twitter all day to find out how fans are liking the track.
Sometimes it's the little things that we forget to express our gratitude for, but not so for "Beautiful Creatures" starlet Emmy Rossum, who took to Twitter today to give thanks for a small gesture from friends and family.
We'll be sure to add something similar to our own thankful list (especially as it pertains to the use of "B-T-Dubs," which we may or may not say on the regular...)
Preheat your cauldron and flex your spell-casting muscles, ladies and gentlemen: the "Beautiful Creatures" movie will hit theaters only three months from now, and things are about get particularly witchy around here...only right, sorry, y'all prefer the term "casters."
The second trailer for the first film in the supernatural saga has finally hit the web, and if you like southern gothic, snazzy special effects, syrupy accents and passionate makeouts to a throbbing soundtrack of Florence and the Machine, then you're really gonna like it. (And if you don't like these things, then GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE WE TURN YOU INTO A NEWT.)
Just yesterday, "Beautiful Creatures" director Richard LaGravenese raved about the talented young cast he's assembled for the big-screen adaptation of Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl's Southern gothic novel. And today, stars Emmy Rossum and Thomas Mann are proving just how true those words are by divulging their totally method preparation for the project.
In the supernatural saga due out February 13, 2013, Emmy plays a seductive siren who uses her wiles to woo mere mortal Link, played by Thomas. Which isn't a task that takes all that much talent—he's a teenage boy, after all. But that's beside the point.
When we caught up with the pair at Comic-Con, they spilled a story about the not-so-romantic, getting-to-know-each-other date they took, walking alongside the Mississippi River. Sure, it sounds like all hearts and stars and candy kisses...but that was before Emmy and Thomas were joined by a dozen unwanted, twitchy-nosed guests.
There's no denying it: The "Beautiful Creatures" teaser trailer has us spellbound!
In anticipation of last night's sneak peek of the supernatural romance, Hollywood Crush compiled an ambitious wish list of our must-see scenes. Ambitious in that, with only a minute-and-a-half of footage to mete out, we were prepared to be left wanting. But—surprise!—all of our wishes were granted in those 90 seconds. (Thank you, Warner Bros.!)
Watch the trailer after the jump, and then we'll take a closer look at how it met all our expectations!
