Between the grocery aisle and the magazine aisle, in the past few months, we haven't been able to get away from "New Moon" mania. So we at Hollywood Crush have decided to compile a list of all the magazines the various stars of "The Twilight Saga" have graced in recent months for your viewing pleasure. After you take the walk down memory lane, take our poll so we can decide which magazine nailed your vision for the stars the best!
1. Robert, Kristen and Taylor on EW, November 2009
It was a difficult situation when producers of the first "Twilight" movie approached Robert Pattinson with the idea that he should have longer hair for his role as teenage vampire Edward Cullen. "They wanted me to have extensions down to my hips," he told Entertainment Weekly for their new "New Moon" cover story, on sale tomorrow (the same interviews of which produced Kristen Stewart's now-famous "Okay, we are. We aren’t. I’m a lesbian." line). Costar Kristen Stewart remembers it a bit differently, however. "He’s a liar. He doesn’t remember. He’s remembering how they made him feel, but they were just, like, down to here [pointing to her shoulders]."
Somehow, we don't think Edward would've had nearly as much of his appeal without Rob's disheveled, unkempt mop of hair. Apparently, neither does Rob: "In a lot of ways the hair is 75 percent of my performance," he joked, "so in the second one I said, 'Listen, I need to tone down the hair. Let’s make it a little more real.'" That wasn't the end of Rob's hair dilemma: "In the third one, I’m doing fight scenes and there’s a strand going down my forehead and they’re like, 'We need to do it again because no one will recognize you! No one will know who it is!' I’m like, really, is my face that generic? I have to look like the poster at all times. Just in case they want to use any clip for the trailer. Any clip at all! There were about five people in different departments who, because of my forelock, ended up in tears."
Entertainment Weekly was lucky enough to conduct a series of roundtable interviews with the cast of "Eclipse" during their last week of filming. For those of you unfamiliar with the journalistic term, a roundtable is an interview set up where a number of people are present, sometimes even at a round table. In most situations, this occurs with one celebrity and a number of journalistic, but in this case (hence the "lucky") it was one journalist and Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.
In a recent post on their Hollywood Insider blog, EW said they asked Kristen during the interview about the endless rumors surrounding her and onscreen beau Rob. Her response was apparently not what they expected.
“I probably would’ve answered it if people hadn’t made such a big deal about it,” she said. “But I’m not going to give the fiending an answer. I know that people are really funny about ‘Well, you chose to be an actor, why don’t you just f—ing give your whole life away?! Can I have your firstborn child?’”
So what will you get from the issue (due on stands tomorrow)? Well, an exclusive look into what we can expect for the rest of the season, which is awfully tempting to find out considering we have so many unanswered questions (oh, those scandalous love triangles!) There’s also some great quotes from the cast, who are dealing with their newfound (and growing by the day) fame. The EW story reports, “I was at Disneyland yesterday – big mistake,” says Chris Colfer, who plays gay fashionista Kurt. “I might as well have walked around with a target on my shirt, because those are our fans. I stopped and took pictures probably 40 times in between rides. This one lady got a picture of me on the Tower of Terror and had me sign it.”
Ever wondered what it would be like to hang out in Times Square with Steve Carell and Tina Fey? Or ride the subway with Jennifer Aniston? Or sneak a peek at the offices of "The Office"? In the current issue of Entertainment Weekly, the mag went on the set of 36 movie and television shows to snap behind-the-scenes pics and dish with Hollywood's finest including Joan Jett on location of Kristen Stewart's "The Runaways" (KStew is pictured with director Floria Sigismondi below in a photo from the EW issue, which is out this week) and the adorable Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant on the set of "Did You Hear About The Morgans?"
If you've been keeping up with "Runaways" gossip, you know Joan Jett was a constant fixture on the set—it is her biopic after all! But watching Kristen and her fellow "New Moon" costar Dakota Fanning channel her and her '70s girl group was an unusual experience for the music legend. "It's really hard to put exact words on it beyond saying it’s surreal,” Joan explained.
You know how when you miss your significant other, you tend to look at old photos to remind you of them? And the longer you’ve been apart, the more you tend to look at those pictures? Even with quick weekend visits and video chats, e-mails and IM conversations, that terrible pain of separation doesn’t get any easier.
Well, that’s kind of how we feel about “Twilight.” Sure, we’ve had public appearances, relationship rumors and quick interviews, but with the one-year anniversary of the release of "Twilight" (and subsequently the long-awaited release of “New Moon”) we’ve found ourselves missing the artistic side of the cast of "Twilight" more and more — and we’re sure you are too! OK all your Twi-Hards out there, we know you are thirsty for some more “New Moon” juice (after all, it's only been, what, like an hour since your last feeding?), so were bringing you an even closer view of Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart’s Entertainment Weeklycover shoot! Although Taylor may not turn into a hairy creature anytime soon, we are still very curious as to what he and his character Jacob Black do have in common. Kristen was quick to point out one major similarity: both of 'em are "buff" and "awesome.”
The chemistry between the two on the set of the photoshoot was undeniable with Kristen admitting that Taylor often makes her smile. Even though the duo has grown really close since they first became Forks residents, our favorite werewolf almost didn’t make the cut as Bella’s BFF in "New Moon." Kristen told EW, “It’s completely understandable why they wanted to make sure he was right,” says the actress. “He was so young, 16, so I got it. But I knew he had [to do] it." For the rest of the shoot, Taylor showed off some acrobatic skills that we didn't know he really had. To see his hidden talent and more from their shoot, press play below!
With Kristen and hunk-of-the-moment Robert Pattinson's are-they-or-aren't-they relationship garnering the majority of tabloid ink, it's a refreshing change of pace to hear KStew and Taylor open up about their own close friendship. In addition to gaining more than 30 lbs. of muscle to secure his role in the "Twilight" sequel, Taylor prepped for "New Moon" by spending quality time with costar Kristen, establishing a real friendship that would translate on screen. It is fitting that this week’s cover ofEntertainment Weekly features the dynamic threesome who has been seen everywhere recently: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. The issue contains interviews with the stars of “Harry Potter” about the gradual ending of the series, spending their last time in Hogwarts robes and their plans for the future.
With big text booming “Welcome back, Potter” (Note the Snape quote!), it seems EW is just as happy as the rest of us to welcome back the series after its extended hiatus. The taglines for the article on the cover say the article will cover feature exclusive news about “Half-Blood Prince” (which hits theaters next Wednesday!) what’s next, as well as why the film was delayed.
