Get ready to set your DVRs for "Eve." Sure, the YA novel doesn't hit bookstore shelves until October 4, but it's never too early to prepare for your next book-to-small-screen obsession, is it?
Following in the footsteps of other adaptations we love (think: "Pretty Little Liars" and "Gossip Girl"), the producers behind "The Vampire Diaries" are already developing a pilot for this dystopian tome. And if you're itching for a taste of the novel and what a potential series could look like, feast your eyes on the EXCLUSIVE book trailer below!
Set in a world in which a virus has wiped out much of the population, 18-year-old Eve is among the survivors left in the confines of an all-girl school, where she's been taught to fear boys. But when Eve discovers her true after-graduation fate, she runs away from the only home she's ever known—and smack dab into dreamy Caleb, who slowly earns her trust. As she and Caleb begin to be hunted, though, Eve may have to sacrifice her life for the one she loves.
Hello, old friends. Or should I say, Hell-o. After months of waiting, "Glee" hath returned to spread its good will, great music, and, well, Sue Sylvester. Things kicked off with Rachel, Kurt and Mercedes strutting down the halls of McKinley High School, certain that their win at Sectionals has solidified them amongst the cool kids in school. Of course, all three got a cold dose (in the form of the dreaded slushie) of reality right to the face.
Yes, all is exactly how we left it, including Sue, who has snaked her way back into school after being suspended for leaking the glee clubs set list to a rival school. After drugging and sexually blackmailing Principal Figgins (hey, no one ever accused her of fighting fair) Sue is back on the war path of taking down glee club and Mr. Schuester's self-confidence. Sue fired off her best impossible-to-come-back-from-one-liners at Will, including, "Hey buddy, get a haircut? Looks awful" and "I don't want to bury the hatchet unless I get a clear shot to your groin." If I wasn't laughing so hard, I'd probably be terrified of Sue.
Is it spring yet, Gleeks?! Besides some looming cliffhangers in last night’s fall finale, that was the one question racking my brain. How in the world will we wait that long to find out the next chapter of our favorite McKinley High School students and staff? Well, until that glorious day, let’s talk about “Sectionals,” shall we?
A lot of major issues finally came to a head tonight, including the Puck-Quinn-Finn-Rachel love quadrilateral. When Rachel finally picks up (she’s psychic, in case you didn’t know) on the chemistry between Quinn and Puck, the gang knows it’s not long before she blabs the baby daddy truth to Finn. The timing couldn’t be worse for Finn who finally feels optimistic that winning sectionals could make his currently troubled life a little bit better. The news clearly levels Finn, as he, in turn, sucker punches Puck (don’t you agree he sort of deserved it?) whereas Quinn opts to not hit tattle tale Rachel (who pleaded Quinn punch her anywhere but the nose) and, instead, face the music.
I don’t think we’re ready for this jelly, Gleeks! Apparently, neither was Mr. Schuester who invited rival glee clubs (starting with the Eve-lead Jane Adams Academy) to show them their stuff (and, in part, to offset a snooping Sue Sylvester, but more on that later). The Jane Adams girls introduced New Directions to the world of “hairography” with a bumpin’ and shakin’ rendition of Beyonce’s "Bootylicious." So, while Mr. Schuester gets wrapped up in “hairography,” Rachel explains that that particular kind of choreography is nothing more than “smoke and mirrors.”
But, unruly hair wasn’t the only unexpected change of pace that took over Rachel’s life in last night’s episode. When Quinn realizes she might want Puck to take over daddy duties for their child, she knows she must get Finn out of the picture, or at least, distract him. She sees the spark between Rachel and Finn and recruits Kurt to make over Rachel. So, while Kurt gripes that Rachel “dresses like a grandmother and a toddler at the same time,” he signs up for the task, but not without his own hidden agenda.

With a name like Rosa Sparks in "Whip It," it comes as no surprise that rapper turned actress Eve got her kicks knocking around girls on the roller derby track. We mean, Eve's a rapper. She's arguably pretty tough. And, so training for the flick and eventually getting the chance to use her skills in the movie was a very exciting prospect for her.
"At the end of the three week camp, once I was stable on the skates it felt amazing. Honestly, it felt amazing to be going around the track," she told MTV News about the roller derby flick. "It felt amazing to be huddled up with the girls and filming about and hip checking a girl. It really did feel good."

Drew Barrymore and her "Whip It" gang dumped the skates and ditched the elbow pads for the premiere of their coming-of-age roller-derby flick last night in L.A. (That isn't to say there weren't a few Hurl Scout-clad gals rolling around the red carpet at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Nice touch, Miss Barrymore.)
Drew captured a bit of her alter ego's rocker chick vibe (Smashley Simpson would be proud!) in her form-fitting L'Wren Scott dress, accented nicely by red peep-toe pumps. It's not surprising the 34-year-old Hollywood vet's directorial debut brought out some big hitters, including her godfather and "E.T." director Steven Spielberg.

Apparently to be a Roller Derby Queen you need mascara (Drew Barrymore, insert shameless plus here!) a mouth guard, green tights and, oh yeah, a kick-butt attitude. And in this clip from "Whip It," out on Friday, it seems like Bliss (played by Ellen Page) has all of the above. Plus, she's got a pretty cool Roller Derby name: Babe Ruthless!
Plus, with her teammates (played by the awesome and tough Eve, Drew, Zoe Bell and Kristen Wigg) by her side coaching her to be one of the beat Roller Derby Queens in Austin, Texas, Bliss wants to show the world just how hardcore Babe Ruthless can be in a match. All we have to say is: we really hope she doesn't end up puking out there! Press play below to see the Hurl Scouts prepare for action.

Landon Pigg may hook up with Ellen Page on the big screen in "Whip It" out on Friday, but the duo also ended up making music together in real life. When they weren't busy falling in love for the film, they were busy sitting around strumming guitar and playing piano in their off time. And Landon reveals what everyone may have imagined about what it was like to work on the set: "It was like a party with a script.
"I'm not really good at teaching music but for one thing me and Ellen sat down at the guitar once and she was like showing me a song she was writing. She knows how to play 'Blackbird' and stuff," he told Hollywood Crush about his time with "Juno" herself. "But we did a little duet on the piano one day before we were shooting this underwater love scene. Just as they were getting lights ready, and we're playing there's a grand piano in this abandoned yacht club where we're shooting. We're kind of just signing ['Islands in the Stream'] killing time. And that's a good memory of mine."

It's no wonder actress/ first-time director Drew Barrymore and her costar Ellen Page bonded during the filming of "Whip It" (we learned in the duo's cover feature in the most recent issue of Marie Claire that they're basically besties now) — they got to go to work everyday (along with the rest of the female-heavy cast) to film food fights and laugh till their stomachs hurt.
In the clip below from the Oct. 2 roller derby flick, things get pretty sticky when rival teammate Dinah Might (Juliette Lewis) saunters into a restaurant and provokes the Hurl Scouts by insulting their newest member, Bliss (Ellen). "I just want to congratulate you on your new poster child," Dinah says just before slopping some gooey french fries on Bliss' face. Then milk shakes get poured on hair and before you know it, all the derby girls are participating in an old-school "FOOOD FIIIGHTTT" (as Drew screams). You'll have to press play below to witness how the not-so-appetizing action unfolds!
