It's a shame Taylor Swift was out of the country and unable to accept her five American Music Award statuettes — including Best Artist — in person. We always enjoy the 19-year-old's frilly, fairy tale looks on the red carpet. But that doesn't mean our fashion fairy godmother didn't gift us with a few fabulous frocks to fawn over at last night's big event.

With the night's standout look, Barbados beauty Rihanna hit the right note in a black-and-white laser-cut Marchesa that looked more like a beautifully-etched vase than an awards show gown. Take note divas: This is the kind of dress to make a comeback in. Fellow singing siren Shakira also opted for cut-outs, though less-attention-grabbing triangles decorated her sunny yellow Versace minidress.

Last night, the stars of the month (or should it be year by now?), the cast of "New Moon," took their place in the New York City spotlight by attending the Cinema Society and D&G screening of the movie at the Landmark Sunshine Theater. It was originally supposed to be a "secret" event (is there really such a thing with the "Twilight" franchise anymore?), but plenty of faces from Manhattan's "elite" circles (um, hi, Ivanka Trump) were still there to support the Saga.

Just looking at the photos above (and the ones from the rest of the evening), it seems as though Kristen Stewart was somehow left off the memo that instructed attendees to "please only wear black or shades of cream tonight." Though she did show up to the carpet in a black Burberry trench coat, she eventually took it off to reveal an olive green Valentino dress. We adore the silhouette and the girly frills, but we're not super keen on the color for the actress, who looks a little washed out in it (her eyes, however, look stunning). As for Kristen's boys, both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner chose sleek black Dolce & Gabbana suits, with Rob's, of course, sans tie and unbuttoned at the top.

December is going to be here before you can utter the words, "jingle bells," but last night, the temperature on the red carpet at Us Weekly's Hot Hollywood party was exactly that — HOT! The event, which celebrated the magazine's annual issue in which the best of the best in Tinseltown are honored for being on the pulse of pop culture this year, was held at the Voyeur club in L.A. (Does anyone else find it oddly fitting that the name of the club also stands for a term that describes "a fascinated observer of scandalous events"?) An abundance of well-known faces turned up for the big night, including some that were, uh, a little random, like Levi Johnston.

Not so random, however, were the cameos by Kristin Cavallari and her MTV cohort, Whitney Port. Kristin, who was nominated as "Comeback of the Year" for her return to reality TV with "The Hills," wore a Dolce & Gabbana black corset, a Philip Lam skirt with a black/gold design on it and shoes that we find to be a tad questionable as we don't like the way they cut off her leg. Whitney's vintage sheath however, was adorable and perfect for the upcoming holiday season — sparkles, gold Guiseppe Zanotti heels and just the right amount of skin.

Lauren Conrad might not be the center focus of “The Hills” anymore but her career as a writer is just about to propel. She's written two books — the New York Times Best Seller, “L.A. Candy” and the upcoming, "Sweet Little Lies: An L.A. Candy Novel," which will be released in February — and, according to People, will now be penning another.

While her first two books were fiction-based, Lauren is about to bring some “reality” to something else besides the small screen. She'll be spilling her unique style tips in the guide, “Lauren Conrad Style.” The book, which will be published by Harper Collins next fall, will also include exclusives shots of the ex-"Hills" star and her own personal advice on how to infuse her fashionable traits into every day life.

When you think of the Kardashian sisters, there Armenian heritage might not be the first thing that comes to mind. But with the introduction of their newest project, a jewelry line based on the cultures surrounding their country of origin, it becomes clear how important this heritage is to the trio. Khloe, Kim and Kourtney have teamed up with Virgins Saints & Angels for an accessories line coming out in the spring of 2010. This Armenian-inspired line will include earrings, rings and necklaces with a price range of $50-$600. Virgins Saints & Angels are known for their common use of classic gods, goddesses, gypsies, angels, Hamsas, hearts and their signature design the "San Benito." The jewelry also comes in sterling silver or 18kt gold giving it a trendy, but timeless look.

The Kardashian girls are not new to the idea of branding a line and using their own personal style to appeal to a consumer America. Their store D-A-S-H, a boutique chain, is doing well, and was even featured before as “boutique of the week” on miami.com. On top of that, Kim has ambition to mix her own perfume like many of her celebrity acquaintances. Kim has even hired a local designer to design the perfect bottle for her perfume, to give it the exact Kim Kardashian look she is going for (if you'll recall, her scent — we mean, perfume — caused quite a stir on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" when Khloe and Kourtney disapproved of the name).

If there's one place vampires, werewolves and humans can co-exist peacefully, it's surely the red carpet. Love triangles, team alliances and centuries-old pacts were put aside last night to celebrate the long-awaited premiere of "New Moon" at LA's Westwood village theater. (Did you read our live blog throughout the night?) Though fans lined up for hours to get a glimpse of their favorite "Twilight" stars, we've got a fashion rundown you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home—sans earplugs.

A lot has changed for the Saga's stars since last year's premiere, including their wardrobe. Kristen Stewart eschewed her mini-dress of yore, opting instead for a floor-grazing, gray-stitched gown by Oscar De La Renta. But in signature Kristen-fashion she funked it up by adding a few bangles, smokey eyes and a messy, half up-do. Kristen's onscreen love Robert Pattinson looked every inch the movie star in a black Gucci suit, with a soft yet still-slightly tousled haircut and his token stubble.

After yesterday's debatable Proenza Schouler ensemble at the "New Moon" photocall in London (some of you called it "awful" while others thought it was "mod, funky and fun"), Kristen Stewart has reverted back to her old ways today in Madrid with a Elizabeth and James black mini dress. We can't blame her for wanting to break out the leather for the Spanish excursion, and we're absolutely adoring her wine red staggeringly high Christian Louboutin heels, but we kind of wish someone would've could've cut off the sheer part from the top. That dress would've looked much better on her in strapless form.

As for K Stew's boys, we appreciate how coordinated they all were. Ignoring Robert Pattinson's facial scruff, we think his dark-washed jeans combined with white button down and Marc Jacobs bomber jacket looked very posh, and very Edward Cullen. Taylor Lautner opted for a classic all-black style with a hint of grey. Heck even director Chris Weitz sported a sleek outfit — one that that suited him much better than the orange pants he chose for Paris.

Keeping check back with us as we continue to cover the "New Moon" premieres around the world. In the meantime, click on the photo below to be taken to our full photo collection, which includes more of the cast celebrating the "Luna Nueva" Madrid photo call!

It's around the world in 80 almost 20 days for the "New Moon" cast. While our favorite Volturi, Cullen and Wolf Pack members continue to hit up Hot Topic's and Nordstrom's across the nation on a mall tour (Chicago and New Jersey were among the stops yesterday), the "big three" (as we like to call them in these parts) — Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson — and director Chris Weitz have been shipped off to various exotic locations.

So far they've been able to check Japan, Brazil and Paris off there list. And even though the departure from France of (cough cough) two of those aforementioned stars caused quite a stir this morning when we all noticed they were — gasp! — holding hands, we're beginning to think that headline may get a little buried when people start scratching their heads trying to decide whether Kristen's bold Proenza Schouler outfit is totally chic or totally eek! We love the fact that she's decided to put her typical black and cream colors away to embrace a colorful palette (plus her hair and makeup look flawless), but we really can't make a decision about the seemingly clashing top and bottom. Meanwhile, Taylor looked posh and Robert looked, well, very Robert.

Love it or hate it, there's no denying that Lady Gaga's got a unique sense of style. From the lace mask she rocked at the VMAs to the head-to-toe Kermit attire she wore on the red carpet, the "Love Game" singer is definitely no stranger when it comes to taking a risk for fashion.

But she can't take all the credit herself. In a recent MTV News interview, the pop star opened up about her design team, the Haus of Gaga, who design nearly everything she dons.

The Haus of Gaga though, is more than just a group of designers, the starlet said, they're also her best friends.

As if winning the coveted title of high school homecoming princess wasn't enough of an accomplishment for a 15-year-old girl, now Dakota Fanning can also boast getting the December cover of Teen Vogue. The former child star (who looks all grown up now), opened up to the magazine about starring in "New Moon" and the darker flick "Runaways," bonding with co-star Kristen Stewart in both films and transitioning into the role of an adult actress.

Dakota, who has been in the industry since she was 5 and worked with the likes of Denzel Washington and Tom Cruise, said she chose to join the cast of "New Moon," where she plays a member of the powerful Volturi clan, simply because it "sounded like fun." The added perk? She ended up becoming good friends with Kristen.

"We became really close," Dakota said. "Like we'd known each other for our whole lives. We talk all the time."
