Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
After weeks of interviews and surprise tour appearances, Rihanna, whose new album Rated R hits stores Monday, finally got a chance to cut loose … and we mean really loose. The usually composed starlet got a little silly for the cameras (hmmm we wonder what brought that on...) while partying the night away at Mahiki nightclub in London after a performance at the Nokia X6 launch concert, alongside Jay-Z (who showed up to the afterparty with wifey Beyonce in tow).
The "Rehab" singer, whose been rocking a lot of black lately, shed her dark look for a fiery orange dress and some eye-popping pink liner, and we've got to say, we loved seeing her add some color to her look!

She's an eccentric pop-star with crazy hair and out of this world style, and while she might not exactly fit into the S and B clique on "Gossip Girl", or even with Brooklynite Vanessa for that matter, we couldn't be more excited about Lady Gaga's appearance on the CW show. That's right, mark your calendars because Gaga is performing on "Gossip Girl" on November 16th! While the cast was initially careful not to reveal too much about the storyline, the singer herself let some details slip during an interview with MTV News. So what can fans expect?
Well to start, they shouldn't expect Gaga's performance on "Gossip Girl," to be anything like other celebrity cameos (I mean it is Gaga after all!). The singer took steps to ensure that her screen time would be unique. "I really sat down with the writers," she said. "I was like, 'Look, I want to do this, and the reason I want to do this is because I am trying to say something that is not mainstream in a mainstream capacity. So, if I can say it on your show, that would be, like, a real coup d'état for me as a performance artist,'" she said, adding that her 17-year-old sister is a huge fan of the show and encouraged her to do it.

“Gossip Girl” Serena van der Woodsen is Upper East Side’s infamous heartbreaker and party planner. Between changing boyfriends and changing career goals, the glamorous queen bee is constantly in the middle of revenge plots and love triangles (as of now she is at war with bff, Blair Waldorf and ex-love Nate Archibald!). Every Monday night we watch Blake Lively do an impressive job of filling the rich girl’s shoes, but Blake is almost the complete opposite of her onscreen alter ego. Despite their shared love for designer clothes (Blake owns half of Serena’s wardrobe ...must be nice!), the actress told Nylon that unlike her character, she is an empathetic friend and prankster.
Far from her selfish-but-acts-like-she-cares character, Blake sounds like one good friend (or at least we know she is to costar and boyfriend Penn Badgley )! Apparently when her friends feels pain, she does, too. "I feel a lot. I get really bad stomachaches all the time. So I went to a doctor, and he said, 'You’re a feeler,” Blake told Nylon, “I take on people’s pain a little too much."

On Monday nights, you might know her as the evil and conniving Georgina on "Gossip Girl," but actress Michelle Trachtenberg is more than just TV vixen. Michelle recently joined the cast of NBC's "Mercy," a hospital drama, where she plays Chloe, a nurse with a heart of gold.
"Chloe is a first time nurse, first time in a hospital, really saving lives and she's someone that's wanted to do this her whole life," Michelle explained to MTV News. "So she's got a lot of dreams and aspirations." Sounds like her two alter egos come from opposite worlds!
So, how does the actress manage playing both roles without getting her wires crossed? "They're completely night and day, so one never really falls into the other," she said. "It's very easy to keep them apart." Talk about well-rounded!
As dastardly Georgina Sparks on The CW series "Gossip Girl," Michelle Trachtenberg is more than happy to spill the Upper East Side's juiciest secrets (watch out if you have a long-lost love child, is all I'm saying!). But in real life, the actress is loathe to dish out any "GG" spoilers, including who will comprise that much-publicized, upcoming threesome, likely one of the most sizzling happenings to hit the teen drama yet.
"Ah, yeah, it's me, myself and I, and we get busy," Michelle joked to MTV News. "It's going to be, like, in split screens. So it's going to be like Michelle, Michelle, Michelle, like, 'What body part is that?' But it's all mine." The 24-year-old would admit, however, that the scene will be "worth waiting for" and will likely feature "at least one boy and one girl..." Thanks for the scoop, Michelle!

If there’s one thing "Gossip Girl" Blair Waldorf is known for, it’s how quickly she’s willing to dismiss something that’s totally not worth her time (a queen “witch-with-a-b,” if you will). So, when I talked to Miss Waldorf herself, Leighton Meester, on the set of the video for her debut single, “Somebody To Love,” I asked the question any fan of the show and her character would want to know: if the well-produced, dance-pop tune would be worth the Upper Eastsider's time.
“I think it hits that… that audience, for sure,” she explained, decked in a skintight, black leather minidress with extended shoulder pads that resembled (or very well could’ve been) Balmain’s current collection, and statement eyebrows that looked like they may have come from “Cleopatra,” or “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” or another movie your grandmother loves.

As Blair Waldorf attempts to adjust to her new college setting at NYU, the Upper East Side princess is constantly challenged by her "pseudo-intellectual homesick malcontent" peers. In spite of her complete lack of awe for her chosen university, tonight’s episode more than exemplifies a trendy downtown influence on B. Leighton Meester told MTV News that the story line for tonight's "Gossip Girl" episode not only includes former NYU student, the goddess of pop, Lady Gaga, but also a threesome between her, Chuck and a mystery girl.
Leighton describes Lady Gaga’s performance as “avant-guard,” but who would expect less from the New York native. GaGa is well known downtown as an entertainer, since she got her start as an NYU student performing on the Lower East Side. As with her VMA performance to her appearance on MTV’s boiling points way back when, Lady G never fails to attract an audience, and we’re sure tonight on "Gossip Girl" she will keep the group, and every fan, more than entertained.

Unlike our last time Star-Gazing, Penn Badgley is one “Gossip Girl” star whose face we see very much of. The 23-year-old actor got his breakout role as one of the more prominent main characters on the show, the intelligent, Brooklyn-dwelling Dan Humphrey, who wins the heart of fallen queen bee Serena van der Woodsen. While Dan and Serena might not be together right now, his off-screen romance with Blake Lively is one sure to warm any “GG”-lover’s heart. And if that’s still not enough Penn for you, there’s always the very un-“Gossip Girl” thriller he is starring in, “The Stepfather,” which hits theaters this Friday.

There are several curious and dubious rumors floating around the Internets this week. So, we here at Hollywood Crush decided to find out if there's any truth to some of this buzz: Are Russell Brand and Katy Perry an item? Is Taylor Swift starting a clothing line in London? And finally Is Lady Gaga really going to be on "Gossip Girl"?
First up, we haven't been able to debunk or verify this to be true (yet!), but according to multiple reports out there Katy Perry and Russell Brand are dating. The pair were even spotted around Paris together where fashion week is well under way. They could just be friends, but we do think they'd make a cute, edgy couple.

Penn Badgley is quickly taking over Adam Brody’s old reputation as the cute nerd. Penn, who plays sweet and sensitive Dan on "Gossip Girl," is not only becoming one of the CW’s newest ladies men, but apparently, as revealed in an interview in the October issue of Women’s Health, is quite the ladies man in real life. Penn, who has been publicly dating Blake Lively (she plays his ex-girlfriend, Serena, on "GG," though we bet you knew that!), reveals his relationship priorities, his idea of a sexy date is, and the character he most identifies with on “GG.”
On the CW series, Penn’s Dan Humphrey began climbing up the social ladder of New York’s Upper East Side during his relationship with wealthy and popular Serena. The two inevitably broke up after lies and deceit suffocated their blossoming romance. While trust is not to be expected within the relationships that occur on “Gossip Girl,” Penn admits that he thinks “Passion is number one and trust is number two.” He told Women’s Health that “You need to start with a passionate connection, and if you can maintain it and cultivate it, that’s most important. Then trust can develop."
