She's played a haughty human-alien hybrid, a plucky lingerie-model-turned-surgical-intern and an accidentally impregnanted television producer, and with today's release of "One for the Money," Katherine Heigl can add "Jerseylicious bounty hunter" to her eclectic resume. The actress stars in the big-screen adaptation of Janet Evanovich's romantic thriller, playing heroine Stephanie Plum, an out-of-work unmentionables saleswoman who takes a job as a recovery agent to make ends meet. (We're also betting she finds a bit of love along the way...) As Katherine returns to the big screen slinging a pistol and downing the Garden State's entire ration of Tastykakes, let's take a look back at her career.
Born November 24, 1978, in Washington, D.C., Katherine started out as a child model before making her film debut in the 1992 romance "That Night," starring Juliette Lewis, C. Thomas Howell and a young Eliza Dushku. Katherine played a character named...Kathryn. She went on to make a splash in her first starring role alongside French actor Gerard Depardieu in the 1994 comedy "My Father the Hero," playing a vacationing teenager who tries to impress her summer fling by telling him that her dad is really her lover. We did that all the time in high school!

Sure, the new Farrelly Brothers comedy "Hall Pass" (pictured) may be geared towards guys, but after the raves about the movie on Twitter today, we're starting to think it would make for a perfect girls night-out flick. Aside from the eye candy (hello, Jason Sudeikis and Owen Wilson!) it stars some seriously fab females like Jenna Fischer, mom-to-be Alyssa Milano (who raved about her co-star from her page, "Jason Sudeikis is a movie star. He's genius. #HallPass") and new mom Christina Applegate, who alerted followers, "Oh there is this flick called "Hall Pass" opening this friday with some pretty amazing folks in it! I suggest you go check it out!!#hallpass." Stacy Keibler was among the celebs who attended the movie's premiere last night and reported, "It was laugh out loud funny. There were times I was crying I was laughing so hard."
The hilarious "Hall Pass" cast weren't the only ones giving each other props on the Twitterverse today, as the gang from "Nikita" welcomed their leading lady Maggie Q to Twitter with open arms. When Maggie, who sent out her first tweet ever this afternoon, "Holy crap guys. Its me." (which was soon followed by, "I sent out my first tweet and my heart was palpitating! I was sweating!!?!") her co-stars all signed in to their accounts to send their best. Lyndsy Fonseca wrote, "@MaggieQ sent her first tweet guys!! Let's give her a big welcome :)" and Shane West posted, "I believe Maggie did her first tweet :D." Elsewhere, Devon Sawa, who had been trying to get Maggie on board with Twitter for quite some time sent a simple, "@MaggieQ :)"

It was just last week that Katy Perry announced she'd be heading out on a whirlwind tour with Robyn, and now fans are getting some details about just what they can expect. Katy (pictured) revealed to Rolling Stone that, "It's the first concert that's going to smell good. It's going to smell like you're in cotton candy heaven." Sweet! Luckily, fans won't have to wait much longer as the singer alerted from her Twitter today, "WHO'S EXCITED TO WAKE UP EARLY AND GET #CALIFORNIADREAMTICKETS! DON'T MISS IT, THIS FRIDAY/SAT ON SALE. Now go to bed, so you can get up! :)"
While Katy urgently reached out to followers, Ian Somerhalder took a somewhat more laid back approach regarding last night's a-ma-zing return of "The Vampire Diaries." The actor wrote, "Hope someone got around to watching the TVD episode tonight and it didn't suck. No pun-seriously If you did, thank you." It seems "TVD" fans will most definitely want to set their DVRs for weeks to come, as Nina Dobrev dropped some information, "shot a cool scene with Paul Wesley today on set... it's good to be in school again ;)"

Live from New York it's..."30 Rock"! Yes, Tina Fey (who is no stranger to this sort of thing) and her Emmy-winning cast and crew will go live tonight (at 8:30 p.m. on NBC) in an episode called, wouldn't you know it, "Live Show"! We can't wait to see what "30 Rock" has in store this evening (and if Tracy Morgan can stay on task and/or make one of his co-stars crack up on the air), and it got us thinking, which of our other favorite shows would we like to see go live to the world for an evening? Check out our picks and cast your vote after the jump! As always, if we've missed one of your favorites, leave a comment!

In an attempt to blockout the impromptu Backstreet Boys YouTube video sing-along yesterday in the MTV offices (seriously, stuff like this happens a lot around here), I turned to that promoter of productivity: Pandora. I felt a sense of ease as the various selections in my Snow Patrol channel wafted through my earbuds. That is, until Moby's "Extreme Ways" shuffled into the playlist, prompting me to sit up and proclaim (only to myself), "Bourne!"
If you're a fan of the "Bourne" trilogy, you're no doubt familiar with this electro-pop ditty. In the closing sequence of "The Bourne Ultimatum," we see super spy Jason Bourne floating lifelessly in New York City's East River after having been shot by the authorities—a scene that satisfyingly brings the trilogy full circle to "The Bourne Identity"'s opening moments. As the funky strains of "Extreme Ways" begin to sound, Bourne's body comes to life and he begins swimming for shore, outwitting the bad guys once again. No matter how many times I watch this scene (check it out on YouTube), I can't contain my smile.
This all got me thinking about what songs we'll forever and always equate with a particular movie or TV scene. I asked Hollywood Crush's trusty writers to confess their own scene-setting song memories. (Unsurprisingly, more than one referenced "Grey's Anatomy." Kudos, Alexandra Patsavas!) Read what they had to say after the jump, and let us know in the comments which songs are inextricably linked in your mind to a movie or television show.

Mandy Moore is one of those rare singer/actresses who, despite coming of age and fame around the same time as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, etc. has carved out a successful Hollywood career without becoming tabloid fodder. Perhaps the fact that she is so gosh darn nice--seriously, ten minutes on the phone with her feels like a telecommunicative hug--is some of the secret to her success.
While chatting with Mandy recently to discuss her voice work in the upcoming Disney fairy tale "Tangled," (which we are so psyched to see--but more on that in the coming weeks), we asked her for a little insider scoop on her return to "Grey's Anatomy" this fall.

Still reeling over last night's shocking two hour season finale of "Grey's Anatomy"? You aren't alone! Tweeting celebs gave kudos to the the drama's big cliffhanger (we won't spoil it for you, promise), including recent guest star Demi Lovato who posted, "Most intense episode of any tv show I've ever seen. So amazing. Most incredible show ever." Even stars from other shows had to give credit where it was due, like "Glee" star Jenna Ushkowitz who tweeted, "ok, greys anatomy, you win. one of the best 120 minutes of television ever" as her co-star Lea Michele agreed, "how amazing was Grey's last night?!?!?!"
If you found yourself Googling what happened on "Grey's" than you came across today's most pleasant web surprise: Pac-Man! Yes, everyone's favorite ghost-fearing, fruit-enthusiast yellow dot turned thirty and Google paid honor in the best (albeit, most distracting) way possible. As "Web Soup" host Chris Hardwicke put it, "Good luck getting anything done today. Google.com's banner today is a playable Pac-Man for its 30th anniversary."

While Demi Lovato has been spending most of her time dishing about and digging on her beau and pal Joe Jonas, she's apparently also made some time in her schedule to land a new acting gig. According to her Twitter, Demi will make a cameo on "Grey's Anatomy."
On Monday, just two days after she made an appearance at the Kids' Choice Awards alongside Joe, she tweeted the casting news. "For all of you amazing patient people... I'm so thrilled to announce that this week I'm shooting Grey's Anatomy!!!!!!!!
AHHH!!!!"

Every so often, a song comes along that becomes the darling of every film and television scorer, advertising music supervisor, and Starbucks/Gap playlist mixer. A few years ago, that tune was "Such Great Heights" (both the peppy Postal Service version and its mellower Iron & Wine counterpart). It popped up on the "Garden State" soundtrack. It accompanied "Grey's Anatomy" promos. I drank lattes to it. In short, it was everywhere. And now it seems a new song has emerged to seal the "used and abused" title for 2009: Erin McCarley's "Love, Save the Empty."
This first time I heard this little ditty was on the "There's No 'I' in Team" episode of "Grey's Anatomy," during a saucy Callie/Dr. Hahn makeout session. Next it became the unofficial anthem for Ginnifer Goodwin, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston, and the other lonely ladies of "He's Just Not That Into You." And I was OK with that. But now it's popping up on commercials for Jada Pinkett-Smith's new medical drama "Hawthorne," and that's where I draw the line. Read more...
