The war between vampires and wizards rages on as Stephenie Meyer's(pictured, left) "Twilight Saga" recently won a big victory by overtaking J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" as the series that has spent the longest amount of time USA Today's top 10 best sellers list.
Stephenie's vampire love story has dominated the top 10 list for a total of 52 consecutive weeks. The first four novels in J.K.'s saga about the boy wizard only maintained a consecutive streak in the top 10 for 13 weeks, and all four were in the top 10 list for 24 weeks total. Read more...
FROM MOVIES BLOG:I would've been impressed if "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" had settled for just crushing the midnight opening ticket sales record, with a $22 million haul compared to former top dog "The Dark Knight"'s $18 mil. But no. That's not good enough for The Boy Who Lived. Or perhaps I should say, The Boy Who Makes Bank.
Mid-week opening be damned, "Half-Blood Prince" earned a dizzying $100 million worldwide in its first 24 hours of release, according to a report in Variety. Maybe it wasn't such a great idea to delay the "Potter" IMAX opening in favor of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" ...

FROM MTV.COM:It's kind of amazing to look back over J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" book series.
The first book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," arrived in the United States at the end of 1998. Three years later, director Chris Columbus' movie adaptation hit theaters. Perhaps more than anything else, fans delighted in seeing their favorite characters from the book series — then on its fourth entry, "Goblet of Fire" — brought to life by a group of perfectly cast actors, led by Daniel Radcliffe's Harry. Oh the age old question: Edward or Harry? Okay, so maybe it’s not age old — more like two-years-old — and maybe it’s not the top dilemma on your mind, but with both "Harry Potter" and "Twilight" making huge amounts of money and stars jumping between the franchises left and right, it’s a worthy question to be asked. Who would you choose: Edward or Harry? Read more...
Although she's remaining mum about where she will be attending university this fall, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" star Emma Watson is really looking forward to living here in America as one of '09's newest coeds. "I love the states," she told MTV News at the junket for "Half-Blood Prince." "I love American people. I think you guys are so friendly and so open. I just think you're great!"

"Harry Potter" starlet and soon-to-be college student, Emma Watson has really proved to be a fashionista over the years mixing up her style with hip, young pieces (most recently: a mini skirt and leather top to the New York premiere of "Half-Blood Prince") with long, slightly bohemian — yet utterly glamorous! — gowns to some of the world's most prestigious events. MTV News caught up with Emma to get her take on some of her latest drool-worthy fashion choices, so press play above to hear what she had to say about her wardrobe!
Although Emma can be seen wearing stunning gowns on red carpets, she insists that if you were to run into her in her everyday life you wouldn't see her all dolled up in that way at all. "This is the exception," she said of her more "Hollywood" looks. "This is very abnormal for me." Read more...
It's the tabloids' worst nightmare: "Harry Potter" stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint dreaded kissing each other more than all the fighting, running and death scenes combined in the series. Why couldn't they be more like Rob and Kristen? Those two have been causing a ruckus all over the place — the most recent crazy rumor, of course, is that Kristen is pregnant with Rob's baby (I call that "bump" a belly, though). Maybe it's because Emma and Rupert have known each other since age 11 and have grown closer as siblings rather than lovebirds.
But, the chemistry the two share on screen (especially in "Half-Blood Prince") should be enough to shock anyone ignorant of Emma and Rupert's previous claims at make-out awkwardness. MTV got a chance to chat with the "Harry Potter" actress about the gritty details of the big smooch and how she shocked Rupert with her over-eagerness — eagerness, that is, to get the kiss done and over with. Press play below to watch the full video of Emma talking about the smooch. But don't worry, "Harry Potter" fans. Regardless of their offscreen romance-less friendship, the most famous kiss in wizard history is sure to be the hottest once "Deathly Hallows" part 2 hits theaters in two years.
