The snapshots below serve as proof that not all celebutantes magically look perfect 24/7 — some of them actually have to work for it. "The City" starlet Whitney Port took time away from the East Coast to get in some pampering at a Beverly Hills Nail Salon and Anastasia Brow Studio in L.A. yesterday. We're betting she got to see an early tape of the season premiere of 'City' and needed time to cool off after that catfight between Olivia Palmero and Elle publicist Erin. Who can blame her?

The polished pin-stripe suite we noticed on Ed Westwick yesterday now seems way less questionable (though when it comes to Chuck Bass, you can't really ever knock his unique style even when it seems random). The cast of "Gossip Girl" is apparently in the midst of filming for a roaring-20s themed event as illustrated by newcomer Hilary Duff below. Their duds might just be costumes, but the show's chic stylist, Eric Daman, is known for setting trends with his finds, so we're guessing we're going to see more of the Jazz Age (sequins! fringe! pearls!) in stores in the near future.

Spotted: H.D. and P.B. sharing a kiss on the NYC set of GG on Wed. For the non-"Gossip Girl" speakers among us, that means Hilary Duff and Penn Badgley were spotted smooching on-set Wednesday. Rest easy — he wasn't cheating on girlfriend/costar Blake Lively, he was just filming a scene with Hilary, who booked a multi-episode guest spot on The CW show earlier this year. According to EW.com, Hilary's character is a Hollywood actress who ends up as Vanessa's (Jessica Szohr) roommate at New York University. From the looks of the photos in our flipbook (click on the image below to see all of 'em!), a love connection between Olivia Burke and Dan Humphrey ensues.
We'll get to the kissing part in a second, but can we take a minute to admire how well-accessorized the pair is? Hil's adorable green purse (which is actually Mulberry's popular summer slouchy bag, the Mitzy hobo) + Penn's Spencer's Gifts-meets-Fred Segal blue watch (which is a little more of the latter — the Nooka Zub Zoo 38 timekeeper retails at about $140) = perfectly complemented hues and clothing. Reality star Kourtney Kardashian surprised many in the gossip world when she revealed last week that she was five-months pregnant with her on-again, off-again boyfriend's, Scott Disick's, child. According to E!, she found out about the baby near the end of taping for her new reality show "Kourtney & Khloé Take Miami." "I just kept thinking something wasn't feeling right. ... Literally, I took like 20 tests. I went to the doctor and he confirmed the news. I was just so shocked." Now that the shock has subsided (we hope, at least) Kourtney and her baby's daddy are getting prepared for their special delivery, which is due in December, by shopping for cribs and other accessories.

Lori Culwell is one lucky lady. Within one year, she released her debut novel, “Hollywood Car Wash,” by a major distributor and today Variety confirmed it would be making its way to theaters. Producers David Foster and Ryan Heppe purchased the feature rights to bring the rags-to-riches story to the big screen.
Following the ongoing trend of bringing chick-lit to the big screen, Culwell’s novel tells the story of Amy Spencer’s nearly overnight transformation from a normal Michigan college student to Hollywood celebrity. Culwell had her own rags-to-riches story when she won Media Predict's Project Publish award back in 2007, earning herself a publication contract with Touchstone that got her book released in May 2009. Hilary Duff's Femme for DKNY Jeans line doesn't hit racks until next month, but thanks to an ad campaign featuring the Duffster herself, we're getting a sneak peek at a few of the urban chic items.
Hilary told Nylon magazine that her inspiration for the line was "just normal girls. I’ll be walking down the street and think, oh she looks cute! Especially being in New York is nice, because everyone has such unique styles. And it’s not people who have a ton of money or have a huge closet, but it’s people wearing what they love and having a unique way of putting it together." Read more...
FROM MTV.COM: Hilary Duff has signed on for a multi-episode arc on "Gossip Girl," according to EW.com. Duff will play a character named Olivia Burke, a movie star who attends New York University in search of a traditional college experience. Blair (Leighton Meester), Dan (Penn Badgley) and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) were also accepted to NYU, and Duff winds up becoming Vanessa's roommate in the third season of the show, which debuts this fall.
Duff told in December that she had become a fan of "Gossip Girl," and her favorite character was Chuck Bass. "I don't know why, because he's so bad and terrible," Duff said. "He is so sad that I feel bad for him," she admitted.
