Though Charlie Day isn't comfortable declaring himself the breakout star of FX's "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" it can't hurt his cause that he's been cast in an upcoming romantic comedy with some of Hollywood's heavy hitters. As we mentioned yesterday, the 33-year-old is set to star alongside Drew Barrymore, Justin Long and Christina Applegate in "Going the Distance," which begins filming in New York in August. We caught up with the "Sunny" star and co-creator to chat about his long-time acquaintance Justin and what we can expect from his cinematic turn.
Charlie's role as Justin's pal isn't that much of a stretch for the actor; he and Justin have known each other for more than a decade. "I’ve known Justin Long for a while," he told MTV News. "I think around ’97, ’98, ’99, we were doing theater at place called the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Western Massachusetts. He was always a funny guy, and I bump into him here and there and it’s always good to see him. So I’m really excited to finally actually get to work with him.
