Taylor Kitsch, known for his heartthrob status on “Friday Night Lights” and recently as the Cajun mutant Gambit in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” has picked his next role, and it looks like he’ll be going into outer space. Taylor has signed on to play the title character in the new movie “John Carter of Mars,” which adapts the classic pulp sci-fi novel of the same name by "Tarzan" creator Edgar Rice Burroughs.

Kitsch will appear alongside his “Wolverine” co-star Lynn Collins in the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “WALL-E” director Andrew Stanton is onboard to direct. Read more...
