While many of us are still drying our eyes after the (maybe, probably) series finale of "Life Unexpected" last month, let us take solace in the fact that Lux (Britt Robertson) will likely be gracing our TV screens this fall. The 20-year old actress has found a new home on The CW's new series "Secret Circle," Entertainment Weekly reports. The pilot is described as a supernatural drama based on the series of books by L.J. Smith, executive produced by "Vampire Diaries" boss Kevin Williamson.
Britt is slated to play the new girl in town, who, along with navigating a new school's cafeteria social strata, discovers she has supernatural powers. Not only is she a teen witch, but a member of a secret coven that will stir up some age-old battles between good and evil. Hmm, if this is a little "Supernatural" meets "Dawson's Creek," I think I can dig it... can you?

It was the final episode of "Life Unexpected" last night, almost a year to the day after it premiered last January, and I have to say, it was a fulfilling series finale. The two-hour event did everything it needed to do to tie loose-ends and wrap up some of the more problematic storylines (Lux dating her teacher, Emma's romantic history with Baze's dad).
Eric finally showed some semblance of being a rational, responsible man. He distanced himself from Lux; identifying with Trey and how he was little more than another older man taking advantage of a young, extremely vulnerable teenage girl. Cate and Baze decided not to press charges as long as Eric resigned and left town.
In the showdown over Lux and Eric’s relationship, Lux revealed to Baze that his girlfriend had an affair with his father. And this was not a one-time late-night-at-the-office rendezvous. Emma and Mr. Basil were together four years! Baze and Emma get together for one last very steamy make-out session before Baze decides he just can't bone his dad's sloppy seconds. That's the curtain call for Shaun Sipos and Emma Caulfield.

During the past year we’ve had the opportunity to get to know some of the freshest young hotties to hit Hollywood every Wednesday thanks to our Hump Day Hottie feature (you're welcome). So as we get ready to ring in 2011, we here at Hollywood Crush wanted to pick our top 10 and, well, remind you why we loved them so much in the first place. Today's reveal includes Nos. 10 through 6, but you'll have to come back next week to check out the final five!

10. Ben McKenzie
Sure he might always be Ryan Atwood to us, but we kind of love watching him chase down the bad guy on TNT’s "Southland." Ben was an early contender as one of this year’s Hump Day Hotties, but all these months later we’re still carrying a torch for the blond cutie. Thank goodness his cop drama's set to return again next month.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any more intense, "Life Unexpected" put Lux on the stand to testify against her foster dad whom Tasha whacked on the head with a shovel two weeks ago.
Leading up to this courtroom drama, Lux twisted and undermined her story, alternating between trying to hide the truth and not publicly exposing the abuse she had been through while also using her history to try and save Tasha from jail. Lux sought out her former foster dad, Trey, and tried to make a deal with him: She wouldn’t tell the truth about him if he wouldn’t testify. The badass 15-year-old then went home to cuddle with her teacher boyfriend. Tasha, the sole voice of reason, confronts Lux in front of Eric, finally cluing Mr. Daniels into some of the week’s recent activities.
At the trial, Lux finally tells the truth after Eric confesses that he loves her and that nothing she says will change that. She delivers a tearful recollection of her years with Trey and Valerie; how Trey sexually abused her and Valerie refused to believe her. Nate and his dad lose their cool and dramatically lunge across the courtroom to attack Trey. Cate implores Valerie to remember what it felt like to be Lux's mom and come forward with what she knows. When Valerie corroborates Lux's story, the D.A. presses charges against Trey and Tasha gets two months in juvie. (Poor Tash)
Holidays on TV are always tricky, and the timing is never right. I usually prefer watching the holiday episode before the actual holiday (four days of turkey and stuffing last week left the sight of another bird less than appetizing), but "Life Unexpected" gave us more food after the fact. At least the focus was on mashed potatoes.
Cate and Baze apparently have the intention of making this a great first Thanksgiving for Lux, but as usual, they become so consumed with their own lives and interests that the plan doesn’t really work out as intended. Cate and Baze merge their dinners into one big meal above the still defunct bar, and everyone manages to get invited to the table including Emma and her son, Cate’s sister, Cate’s mom, and Mr. Daniels. Even Baze’s parents cancel their trip to Aruba to eat with the family. So many people, so many secrets.

Despite swirling cancellation rumors, "Life Unexpected" upped the ante last night. New characters were introduced ("Degrassi" alum Landon Liboiron, a.k.a Emma's son Sam), new storylines developed and there was lots and lots of intense drama.
So when Ryan and Cate’s therapist suggested they "take some time apart," neither spouse mentioned the fact that they not only lived together, but they work together—I guess the eight hours a night they sleep apart will have to be the time spent healing their relationship while they bicker and stare daggers at each other the rest of the day. Somehow this technique works though, at the end of the day, a very ragged-looking Ryan and unnervingly fresh-faced Cate decide to give their marriage another, another shot.
Cate and Ryan's decision was the only good news (if you are into them as couple) to come out of the episode. Poor Lux. Even reunited with her biological parents and best friend, this orphan just can’t catch a break. Still "dating" her teacher, Eric bribes her to get an MRI to look deeper into the cause of her learning disability by offering to set up their own private homecoming at Tasha’s pad, complete with spiked punch. (I’m sure serving alcohol to a minor will be a blip on the arrest warrant issued when E is undoubtedly caught sleeping with his 16-year-old student.)

It's hard to watch "Life Unexpected" without knowing in the back of your mind that the show is hanging by a thread. Do we savor these last moments with the world’s worst parents and risk getting further attached? Or do we begin siding with the network execs and kick a show when it’s down? A little bit of both won’t hurt I suppose.
What I want to hold on to: I have to admit, Baze and Emma are pretty cute. They continued to talk about going on a date and then just made out and got real hot-n-heavy in a random motor vehicle instead (last week was a bus, this week a car). That is, until Emma got a mysterious phone call about a burst pipe. Let’s cut to the chase: there was no burst pipe. And there was no man, no long-lost lover. Emma has a troubled son whose dad unexpectedly dropped him off at her house. But luckily she isn’t just making out with any old assistant, she is making out with Baze and when Baze says, "The kid on the doorstep thing I get," you know he really, literally means it. He got a kid on his doorstep. I mean how many boyfriends are you going to hear that from? No wonder she’s falling in love.
On the heels of last night's "Life Unexpected" episode comes news that The CW has decided not to order any more episodes of the drama, E! Online reports. Creator Liz Tigelaar, who based the series on her own experience being adopted and meeting her birth parents, took to Twitter and Facebook today, confirming that the ratings this season didn't warrant an order for the back nine episodes.
This isn't to say that the show is officially over; series decisions aren't typically made until May, and there is still half a season left. As you might remember, "LU"'s "One Tree Hill" cross-over episode prompted the network to order two more episodes, so a ratings boost could still save Lux & Co.
"Life Unexpected" took a page out of the "Real World/ Road Rules Challenge" playbook this week as an isolated group of people were tasked with outdoor challenges in between engaging in inappropriate hook-ups. Yeah, that happened. But I don't want to get ahead of myself.
Ryan and Cate started off where we left them two weeks ago: fighting and questioning whether there was ever an honest moment in their relationship (there wasn't). And Ryan was so over it he even skipped out on their couples counseling session. Baze continued to behave as if he still works in a bar, acting sexy and seducing his boss with a croissant presented on a miniature bed. A) Where do you get a bed like that? B) If anyone came near me with that literal of a translation of anything, I would probably throw myself out the window. Emma is clearly a less extreme person than I am, however she thankfully drew the line at the morning make-out session.
Baze wasn't all cheap tricks though, he wanted to impress his boss with a real Saturday night dinner date. Baze goes to his sweater vest-sporting bestie Math to pick his "foodie" brain on where to eat in Portland proper. Now, I'm not saying a single man with poor style can't know good food, but…okay, I am. The point was moot though. Baze agreed to chaperone the camping trip that weekend, and Math forbids him from ditching his duties for dinner. Solution? Bring the date to you of course. Somehow Baze manages to trick Emma into a weekend in the woods with Math, Cate, Ryan and a dozen high school students. He might be brighter than he appears.

Boo! Did we scare you? No? Okay, well, maybe a fright-night feature will get your knees knocking. In anticipation of Halloween, we asked a slew of celebrities to suggest their favorite scary movies to get you in the mood for the ooky, spooky holiday.
You probably know today's guest blogger, Austin Basis, best as Math on The CW's "Life Unexpected." Which flick keeps Austin up at night? "The Shining"!
Blood pouring from an elevator door and splashing against the floor and walls, as it creeps towards us in slow-motion and drowns the frame red… Simple, yet absolutely terrifying—this is the trailer for my favorite scary movie: "The Shining."
"Here's JOHNNY!" sarcastically exclaimed through an axed-open door frame; "Come play with us, Danny," echoed in unison by a pair of naively ominous twin girls; "REDRUM!" repeatedly chanted to reveal (in a mirror) the word "murder" written on the bathroom door… Are you scared yet? Stanley Kubrick is a genius! It's got ghost kids, E.S.P., cabin fever, blizzards, an AXE!!! And what's a haunted hotel without a murderous history and a Native American burial ground beneath it? Jack Nicholson embodies homicidal mania with exuberance; Shelley Duvall is the personification of fear… Epic visuals and camera movements, along with the imposing score, will haunt you well into the night.
