From her performances in hit comedies like "Superbad," "Zombieland," and most recently "Easy A," there's no doubt that Emma Stone is one of the finest female comedic stars of her generation. So it was about time the folks over at "Saturday Night Live" finally caught on and asked the 21-year-old star to host an episode. Here's what we thought of Emma's "SNL" debut from this weekend:

Things started out rather strong with a monologue that poked fun at how Emma has become the object of many a nerd's affections thanks to her roles in raunchy comedies and being cast in the upcoming "Spider-Man" movie. "SNL" cast members Kenan Thompson, Bill Hader and Andy Samberg all played geeked out admirers hoping to make out with Emma, while Bobby Moynihan and Taran Killam dropped in as her "Superbad" costars Jonah Hill and Michael Cera (newbie Taran totally nailed Michael's awkward mannerisms, wouldn't you say?) Check out the full clip below:

The SwitchLet's face it, with the exception of "Inception," "Eclipse" and "Toy Story 3," this has been a pretty lackluster summer movie season. In fact, the most successful films of the season were sequels, animated films, remakes and 3D movies — or some combination of the four.

What's especially noteworthy is that none of those top films leaned solely on one star to do the box office heavy lifting. Now, some of the summer's latecomers, which do rely on one marquee name, are not fairing so well at the box office — not to mention taking a bit of the shine off of some of our favorite stars. The most recent film to fall into this trap was Jennifer Aniston's "The Switch," which many are predicting will be her weakest box office performance to date.

Is this the end of the former "Friends"' film career as we know it? Hit the jump to see what we think Jen's — and other summer stars' — box office bankability will be in the coming months.

Scott Pilgrim isn't going to be showing The World how much he loves Ramona Flowers until August 13, but we decided to express our affections for "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" star Mary Elizabeth Winstead a little bit sooner. Hopefully by doing so we won't end up having to fight her long time boyfriend, writer Riley Stearns, for naming her our girl crush of the week!

First known for her performance on the small screen, Mary broke into Hollywood at age 15 by playing recurring character Jessica Bennett on the soap opera "Passions," and then starring in the short-lived werewolf thriller (opposite Paul Wesley, we might add) on the single season of "Wolf Lake."

GQDoes anyone really need an excuse to explain why we love staring at Jason Schwartzman, Michael Cera and Chris Evans sans pants? If you were hesitant at all in answering that one (an easy question, if you ask us) the answer is a resounding no. Fortunately, GQ went above and beyond their usual fun-loving spirit and gave us a good reason for it: Pantless Saturdays.

Their explanation for the three stars of "Scott Pligrim vs. The World" in all their uncensored glory involved "the might Spartans" and the idea that "Monday through Friday belongs to our bosses, Sunday to our Lord. But Saturday, if only for a precious few hours, it's all about the boys," but it doesn't matter. In fact, the picture speaks better for itself than with their explanation in my opinion, so there you have it.

Turns out Michael Cera's rowdy stint promoting "Jersey Shore" might not have been as out of character as it seemed. When MTV got a chance to catch up with Michael when he was promoting his newest film, "Youth in Revolt," he shared that he isn't entirely the innocent person he seems.

"I've done a lot of stuff I'm really ashamed of," Michael admitted. When asked if he'd done anything illegal, he said, "Yeah. And I'd rather not elaborate on that."

No "Jersey Shore" makeover would be complete without perfecting your token fist pump. So, when "Youth in Revolt" star Michael Cera got the chance to meet the summer share posse yesterday — they were shooting a series of promos that will run on MTV this Thursday (January 7) while a new episode of "Jersey Shore" airs — you can bet your hair gel that he took in all the lessons he could.

We have no doubt that after taping the clip below, the scrawny (yet adorable) Michael was ready to drop it like it's hot at the club with his new pals. He even pulled Snooki into the action and, well, you're going to need to witness the rest of the action for yourself by pressing play below!

Tune in to a new episode of "Jersey Shore" this Thursday at 10pm ET/PT on MTV!

FROM NEWSROOM BLOG: "Jersey Shore" has quickly elevated itself from simple reality entertainment to full-blown cultural phenomenon. They've been parodied on "Saturday Night Live," poked fun at themselves via a Funny or Die clip and attracted the largest crowd in history to the MTV Newsroom. Now they're getting the chance to welcome a new star into their midst. Actor Michael Cera — the star of "Superbad," "Arrested Development" and the opening-this-Friday "Youth in Revolt" — sat down with some of the stars of "Jersey Shore" to get a full-scale summer share makeover for a series of promos that will run this Thursday (January 7) while a new episode of "Jersey Shore" airs.

Michael Cera has had a good streak with his leading ladies over the past few years, turning relative unknowns like Ellen Page and Kat Dennings into superstars (okay, maybe the strength of the movies they were starring in made them stars, but I digress). The most recent starlet to join him on screen is a face you won't recognize from battling mutants or being the grody friend of an ex-Playboy bunny.

Not much information is available about Portia Doubleday, the lucky lady who gets to play the manipulative, dangerous vixen Sheeni in January's "Youth in Revolt," but we at Hollywood Crush are here to give you the scoop. "Youth in Revolt" is the 21-year-old actress's first feature film — her other film credits include headlining the 2009 film "18" and starring as "Young Margaret" in 1997's " Legend of the Mummy."

FROM MOVIES BLOG: "Paper Heart," directed by Nicholas Jasenovec, is out this Friday. I've been chatting it up a lot here on the blog, as it was one of my favorite flicks from Sundance in January. I'm also an unapologetic "Arrested Development" fanboy, so anything involving Michael Cera (or the rest of the Bluth family) is immediately on my radar. I never even made the connection that Charlyne Yi was the stoner chick from "Knocked Up" until after I saw "Paper Heart."

But I digress. I'm here today to share a couple handfuls of stills from "Paper Heart" (like the one above). It's a part-documentary/part-mockumentary feature in which Yi travels around, interview people on how they define love. These non-fiction bits are crosscut with dramatized scenes from Yi's relationship with Cera. A funny, fun time, and a sweet alternative to the loud, blaring noise of your typical summer blockbuster.

Paper HeartFROM MOVIES BLOG:One of the cooler movies I saw this year at Sundance was director Nicholas Jasenovec's "Paper Heart," a sort of fiction/documentary hybrid that follows comedienne Charlyne Yi and her search for the meaning of love. Interspersed between on-camera interviews with real people are dramatized scenes of Yi's real-life relationship with actor Michael Cera. It's all very clever and meta, and you'll get to see it for yourself when the movie hits theaters on August 7.

Now I'm here to tell you lucky San Diego Comic-Con attendees that Yi will be appearing alongside Jasenovec and Jake Johnson (who plays Jasenovec in the movie) for a July 26 panel. Fans will be able to catch the trio talking about the movie and answering questions in Ballroom 20 at the San Diego Convention Center between 12:30pm and 1pm. The luckiest among you may even score a "Paper Heart" button, which you can see the design of in the image above.
